Beck: Hillary Clinton’s ‘Stereotypical, Nagging’ Voice Is ‘Like An Ice Pick’ In My Ear

Yesterday, CNN pundit Glenn Beck did an entire segment devoted to how much he hates Sen. Hillary Clinton’s (D-NY) voice. He called her “stereotypical” voice “nagging,” adding that it “just sticks in your ear like an ice pick,” makes you “envy the deaf,” and “makes angels cry.” Furthering the sexist stereotyping, Beck said, “She could be saying, ‘All right, Glenn, I want to give Glenn Beck $1 million,’ and all I’d hear is, ‘Take out the garbage.’”

Later in the segment, Beck and right-wing radio host Danny Bonaduce agreed that they’d rather have “purple monkeys crawling all over your body, and they’re covered in spiders” than listen to Clinton’s voice. Watch it:

On his March 15 show, Beck said that Clinton sounds like the “the stereotypical bitch.”

(HT: My Two Sense)

Transcript:

BECK: Hillary Clinton cannot be elected president, because there’s something about her vocal range. She’s that stereotypical, nagging…

SEN. HILLARY CLINTON (D), NEW YORK: If you were a stranger — if you were a stranger — if you were a stranger…

BECK: After four years, don’t you think every man in America will go insane? She could be saying, “Glenn Beck could be the greatest guy in the world.”

CLINTON: I’m so proud of you.

BECK: Glenn Beck, and I would be just like, “I can’t take it.”

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: It can’t be just me. I know it’s not. I mean, if there’s somebody in your life whose voice just sticks in your ear like an ice pick, somebody who makes every part of you just clench every time they speak. Yes, the senator and presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has a voice like that. It makes me envy the deaf. It does.

She could be saying, “All right, Glenn, I want to give Glenn Beck $1 million,” and all I’d hear is, “Take out the garbage.” Even the TV show “South Park” took a swing at her last night with her dreadful southern drawl. Take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It is so nice to be back in a small town like the one I came from.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: Oh, I swear to you. I think Hillary’s voice makes angels cry. They do. They’re up there. I wanted to get independent professional verification.

Joined now by two guests. One is a voice specialist. Her name is Nancy Daniels. And Danny Bonaduce, who, in the next few minutes, may say really mean things. I don’t know.

BECK: OK, Danny.

BONADUCE: Yes, sir.

BECK: You’ve gone through the DTs.

BONADUCE: I have indeed.

BECK: Yes.

BONADUCE: I’d do it again not to hear another clip from her.

BECK: I was going to say, purple monkeys crawling all over your body, and they’re covered in spiders, or this.

BONADUCE: I’ve got to go with the monkeys.

BECK: Wait, wait, wait, I’ve got to play the sound.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CLINTON: That is not a record that New York needs in the United States Senate.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: Danny?

BONADUCE: I’m thinking monkeys with spiders on it is actually too good. It’s too fair of an offer.

BECK: I think so, too. Thank you, Nancy, Danny, I appreciate it. We’ll be back in just a bit.

  9. TripMaster Monkey says:

You know, I really am not a Hillary fan, but I have to admit that part of me would like to see her win the Presidency, as it would almost certainly cause the 29%ers to suffer apoplectic fits. ^_^

    it was funny and right.

  11. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

    “Stereotypical”? “Nagging”?

    Sexist much, Glenn?

  12. Patrick1 says:

So true as SouthPark pointed out the other night with a hilarious send up of the crazy Clinton.

  13. Joe Cantwell says:

danny and glenn; aren’t they starring in that new skating movie

  14. Scott says:

To be fair, Stephanie Miller makes fun of Hillary’s voice all the time on her national radio show and Steph is on the left side of the fence.

I actually think it’s kind of funny when she does it. She says Hil sounds like the aliens from “Mars Attacks”

    “Ack ack ack ack”

  15. null says:

Be Honest, he does have a point, though WHAT she says, is of course the important thing. By the way, Beck sounds like a whiney girl.

Progressive support for the 1st amendment.

  17. SKdeA says:

Wow, this thread is really bringing out the juvenile trolls!
Obviously they all have MAJOR mommy issues!

  18. TripMaster Monkey says:

I can’t believe this garbage is on CNN. I used to respect them.

Hey CNN, I see what you’re trying to do here, but trying to out-FOX FOX is like jumping into a pigsty to wrestle a pig. Both of you get filthy, but only the pig is happy about it.

Get up out of the pigsty, CNN. Can Beck and start on the road back to journalistic integrity.

  19. ForTruth says:

So he DOES know what an ice-pick in his ear feels like. Brings back memories of his first wife prolly.

  20. Ben Dover says:

Glenn….use your freedom of choice, while one remains, and simply turn off the sound. Simple solution to a non-issue, wouldn’t you say?

  21. kelso says:

Glenn is like a broken record. How many times can you repeat your same talking ‘point’ before nobody gives a crap what you say?

  22. ∞Ω says:

Did someone mention Danny Bonaduce? LOL
I know I prick up my ears when he speaks his opinion.

  23. skeptic says:

Hilary Clinton is far too conservative for my taste. However the thought of watching all the right wing fanatics foam at the mouth is enough to make me want her elected president.

  24. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

Jake’s “Ignore List” is quite long and growing. He adds commentators to it who prove him wrong on his arguments.

  25. MargeAggedon says:

Progressive support for the 1st amendment.

Amusing. Hate speech is now covered by the 1st amendment? Only when it comes from conservotards.

  26. Carol says:

You know, Chris Matthews and Beck and other men sure are having conniption fits about Hillary. I think their teeny weeny egos are terrified of smart women. It is interesting that whenever men are afraid of women they accuse them of having “bad” voices, “nagging”, “being butch” and other such things. It is misogyny and xenophobia (since they see women as “the other”). They never seem to have substantive arguments about her politics, just this grammar school drivel. It isn’t as if Bush’s irritating nasal whine was attractive, or Cheney’s mush-mouth obscenity-spewing orifice delighted the ear.

Bizarre. I hope as humanity evolves, we will stop “thinging” people and casting groups into the role of “the other” and the “scapegoat.”

  27. pete says:

I keep thinking about the icepicks in Beck’s ears. Anybody have pictures?

  28. ohnonotagain says:

Why would anyone listen to two so-called “recovering alcohol and drug addicts” anyway. I think they both need to re-visit the 12 steps, fast.

  29. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

Bonaduce? Why would anyone listen to a washed-up drug addict?? Of course, that also describes Rush Limbaugh. Ah, the party of “family values” has so many corrupt spokespeople.

  30. Tom says:

I wish someone would really stick an ice-pick in that dip-sh*t’s ear.

    . . . or up his a** or in his eye or . . .

  31. ForTruth says:

Don’t elect Hillary just to upset others, how productive is that? How Progressive is that?

  32. buzzbomb says:

75 years old and watching South Park? Now I know your a liar.

  33. Spudge_Boy says:

I wish Beck had an ice pick in his ear. One in his eye wouldn’t be bad either.

  34. Jake says:

For the record, no one is added to the “Ignore List” for proving me wrong. You are added if (a) you request to be added (there’s no “form” to fill out), (b) you fail to answer my questions(s), or (c) you resort to personal attacks against me. If anyone ELSE has any questions about that, please let me know.

  35. Bruce Gorton says:

You know, the weird thing is, there are perfectly reasonable things one can say against Hillary Clinton as a possible president, things like “She argued in favour of everything the Democrats should have stood against” and her whole tirade against a game called Grand Theft Auto (which allows you to run around killing cops, running over pedestrians, and generally acting like a criminal type) containing nudity. (I don’t like Hillary much as you may have noticed.)

There are all sorts of things one can use to argue that Hillary is just plain unelectable.

But, then, that just wouldn’t give guys like Beck the same sort of satisfaction as spouting sexist, irrelevant crap about her voice now would it?

  36. Dreary Urbanite says:

Listening to the right wing you would have thought that she gave Bill a BJ or something (Why do they hate oral sex so much? It’s really not all that bad). I can’t stand listening to Beck long enough to see what products I should be boycotting. Does anyone have a list?

  37. gummitch says:

I have to wonder if Beck has ever listened to the current officeholder. Back in 2000, I first heard GWB give a “speech” and figured the Dems would win in a landslide because no one would seriously support someone who sounded like Beavis and Butthead. It’s that heh heh heh snicker that Jon Stewart does with devastating accuracy.

And, yet, he got enough votes to fudge a victory. Clearly, a clear and dulcet speaking voice is not a requirement, Becky. Since you can’t actually address issues or policies, why not simply stfu? Or go back to third grade and try again.

  38. TripMaster Monkey says:

    buzzbomb sez:

75 years old and watching South Park? Now I know your a liar.

Yes…thanks for pointing that out, BB…that should convince any of the ‘lurkers’ that comprise Jakes ‘chosen audience’ that he’s chock full of fertilizer (those who hadn’t already figured it out after seeing Jake’s incessant use of ‘LOL’, that is). ^_^

  39. null says:

There are pleasing sounds, and there are upsetting sounds. Hillary sounds just fine when she speaks in a normal tone of voice, but when she speaks publicly, she raises her chin and tries to project her thin voice out into the crowd and you get ‘nails on a chalkboard’. She probabley could correct this with the right voice coach.

  40. Patrick1 says:

The only people not worried about Hillary Clinton are Al Qaeda.

  41. TripMaster Monkey says:

Later in the segment, Beck and right-wing radio host Danny Bonaduce agreed that they’d rather have “purple monkeys crawling all over your body, and they’re covered in spiders” than listen to Clinton’s voice.

Hey, I used to pay good money for that, back in the day… ;)

  42. Kiki says:

Actually, I thought South Park represented Mrs. Clinton as she usually is…calm in a crisis, always in charge and don’t mess with her or you’ll get your head chewed off.

It also showed the gross incompetence of this administration and pointed out that a group of 8 year olds can do better.

  43. RedPetzel says:

Beck said that Clinton sounds like the “the stereotypical bitch.”

    Takes one to know one.

P.S. Who gives a sh*t what a lousy Disk Jockey thinks?

  44. AustinSF says:

If the Shoe Fits – well then……………..

Nah – just jokin – a Progressive Democrat here that ain’t much of a Hill Fan these days….and ya wonder why? … like most Progressive Democrats……….Hill is no friend of the anti-DLC crowd…

  45. SKdeA says:

Dreary Urbanite, they hate what they don’t get!

  46. Granola Hippy says:

When he does that monster scary voice that’s not an impression, that’s his real voice. GHRALLALA!

  47. johnjacobjingleheimerschmidt says:

Funny, all those things that Beck is saying about Hillary are the exact way I feel about him when I hear his idiotic voice.

Only hate speach in TP comes from the progressives.

  50. Bluedog49 says:

The more big, pink, loudmouth guys like Beck complain about the tone of Hillary’s voice, the more women are going to vote for Hillary as a statement. I know a woman who has been a republican all her life. She’s committed to vote for Hillary just to teach men like Beck a lesson. I know there are many more like her who actually would like to see a woman president for a change.

On another subject, is there anything around her more pathetic than an egocentric, authoritarian troll acting like anyone cares if they are or aren’t on his imaginary “list.” It’s just a hoot!

  51. JS says:

Seems I’m the only one to agree with Beck, eh? She’s a bitch and I HATE her voice! Pardon me for having an opinion though, I’ve only been living under her regime for the past 2 years…

  52. gummitch says:

    Comment by Kiki

I was actually surprised at how little of the episode was spent making fun of Senator Clinton (well, except for a couple of thoroughly gross lines, which for South Park is astonishing self-restraint). It was also a hysterical send-up of 24 and Jack Bauer. Cartman’s method of torture was perfect.

I thought it was one of their better efforts.

  53. whiteyfresh says:

    What’s going down Jake?

Whatever – they’re just doing the lord’s work. Hillary winning the democrat nomination would be the best thing for the chimpocrats.

  58. Saywho says:

#25 You have the 1st Amendment until you don’t and then you will want it back again but it will be gone. You need to get your own TV show to discuss what you think the points are. I would not vote for Clinton since she will without doubt sell us out for the Euro. The goal is to be less like Europe or that whole Revolutionary War thing was just another mistake.

Here we need to restore our Constitution and that includes the Amendments (all of them) and a good way to begin is to repeal the entire Patriot Act I & II. Clinton will not do that and also intends to continue the war. The contrasting methods of government by the “parties” are #1 the Republican dictatorship and #2 the Democratic socialist republic.

We would have been better off w/ the Green Party and all that hemp.

  61. Max says:

Little Donny and Glenn are two right-wing drunks who don’t deserve to be in the same room as Senator Clinton. Maybe the two of them can get their own show about drugs, booze and sex.

Goodness. Clue to Glenn, you’re a 40+ year old. GROW THE HELL UP.

  63. bob's your uncle says:

I am going to make the truth be known. We have domestic enemies in our country. I swore to protect this country form enemies both foreign and domestic. I am not in the service anymore (thank God), but I will still live by that oath. I wish TP could get itself a few new resident trolls. Kevin, Jake and Patrick1’s responses are so stupid that I just end up skipping over them now.

  71. Jay Randal says:

If Sen. Hillary Clinton does not care what Glenn Beck thinks about her, then why should anybody else care about this nonsense?!

  72. DRxJ says:

He called her “stereotypical” voice “nagging,” adding that it “just sticks in your ear like an ice pick,” makes you “envy the deaf,” and “makes angels cry.”

How does one define a voice, especially Hillary’s, as stereotypical?
Having to watch Beck is like a frontal lobotomy, without the anesthetic.
Envy the deaf? So, Mr.Beck is superior to someone who can’t hear? What’s next?
    Making fun of quadraplegics?
Angels cry? I’m sure your mother knows something about that, Mr. Beck. She’s probably crying as we speak, that such vile came from her loins!

    LOL Jake?
Well, since you’re in such a great mood, please tell me again how a woman should enjoy her rape? Or how pregnancy begins the minute a male ejac*lates?

  73. Eric the Blue says:

Beck claims to be an independent, but still can find time to make fun of Hillary’s voice as our country seems to be tumbling down. He does have the right to criticize how her voice sounds, just as I have the right to say that every time I hear Beck he sounds a little sweet. I wonder if Beck and Jeff Gannon (James Dale Guckert) are “good friends”.

  75. tlsintx says:

funny…beck’s voice strikes me the exact same way.

  76. Bruce Gorton says:

Look, what Beck is doing here is he is trying to build Democrat support behind Hillary, because she is the only Democrat candidate in the race right now who the Republicans can beat.

Her chances of actually winning are stymied by the fact that she has neither the left nor the right as her base. The Republicans want to face Hillary, they don’t want to face Obama or Edwards.

Don’t fall for this transparent kak, vote for the candidate you want to run the country, not the candidate you want to spite the Republicans.

News Flash: BUSH SCANDAL DU JOUR! Today’s (and thus this weekend’s) scandal now has to do with RoveReich’s PowerPoint Presentation at GSA in which he targeted 10 Democrats…..More to come….Pop the popcorn!

Can’t wait for next week’s juicy one! One of these “slow weeks”, it will certainly be HookerGate or GayGate (over 200 nocturnal visits to the WH by a certain male prostitute – wonder who he was “servicing” during these visits??)…We’re sure to find out all the ugly details soon…as the whistleblowers come flying out of the woodwork. They realize that it will net them millions in book deals, movie deals, etc.

Let it fly! No doubt there will be at least one scandal a week until Bush resigns…..if he doesn’t, he’ll effectively tank all the Rethugs thinking about entering the race as well as those he’s so obviously tanking right now (McCain, Guilliani).

At least some of the Rethugs have formed a new coalition calling themselves “Reagan Republicans” to distance themselves from the obvious corruption of this administration. However, when the crap hits the fan about the RNC’s complicity in the Bush Cabal using their email servers so as not to have a paper trail or get caught….ba-boom – GOP!
Down the tubes this party is sliding with their hero who tanked every business venture he ever had his fingerprints on. C’est la vive!

  82. Bluedog49 says:

I love the way Hillary brings out misogeny in so many people. Women are noticing, wingnuts. Keep it up. You’ll mobilize 80% of the women in the country to make sure a woman is president even if they personally don’t like her.

Conservatives say, “she’s a bitch, I hate her, her voice drives me crazy” and then “you progressives are all about hate speech.”

    Unbelievable.

  83. Publicus says:

Glenn Beck doesn’t like Hilary’s voice? I can’t stand it when, while changing channels, I catch 1 second of his annoying yelping. Let’s send some purple monkeys to keep him busy…and off the air.

  86. veritas says:

#79 The Rethugs are “petrified” of Hillary for obvious reasons. She’s one of the most emasculating woman on the planet so men are obviously threatened by her intelligence, charm, and femininity. However, that which they fear most about her is also her downfall as it becomes a very polarizing aspect to her persona. Personally, I don’t feel she or this country is ready for her as president. From what I’ve seen on the hearings of Feinstein, Boxer, and Pelosi, I’m beginning to wonder if someone like Diane Feinstein wouldn’t be a much better choice: brilliant individual who exudes pure class and articulates herself in a very calm, gentle way….but look out: her words are filled with innuendo and facts!

  87. Jackie Rawlings says:

What does a woman and a mother sound like? I guess when a person’s Mother speaks it’s not something you want to hear or listen to. When wives speak it’s not something you want to listen too. Is it that woman can’t be heard or respected as leaders in the US only men. We like men like Bush who can’t speak or even pronoun words he makes them up as he goes as we just laugh. We wont men who lie and cheat and steal. Men who cause chaos around the world and make a joke of America. This posting says alot about women in general. As Bush has to speak to Women Presidents around the world and suggest that other countries give woman rights and leadership in government. We in America still put woman at the lowest level as possible. Values and education mean nothing in America if your a woman. To all the wives and Mothers this posting says we support the old days and don’t believe in equal or woman’s rights in America. Funny just last year the GOP was pushing for Connie Rice or Laura Bush to be the next President even with the way they talk. I guess if the GOP had a woman run for President the posting would be much different and supportive. But the GOP feels with Hillary running for President it is best to bring back that old myth of keeping a woman in the kitchen and bed room because she’s not smart enough to do a man’s job or think with any intelligence. That says alot about what America thinks of women.

  88. rabidbunny says:

I made the same oath, and I see it the other way. People like yourself are going to be the fall of the country. Your words are not patriotic but, ignorant.

  89. hellinabucket says:

republicans won’t be able to beat back their miserable record and it won’t much matter who the Democratic candidate is. They will be the next President.

  90. ES says:

Bush can’t put together a few sentences without f-ing them up. When has Beck ever done an entire show on that?

I’m sure he has great relationships with women with an attitude like that.

  91. Bruce Gorton says:

    rabidbunny

Even Hillary has a chance against the Republicans. Realise, your boys are now synonomous with incompetence, stupidity, dishonesty, and hypocrisy. After all, K Street, Katrina, Iraq, Foley, Delay, Evolution, Stem Cell Research, Enron…

  92. veritas says:

#84 I suspect that Hillary’s poll numbers are being bloated by Rethugs who desire her to be the Democratic “candidate” because they will drag Whitewater and Foster out of the woodwork and use all of the ambiguities concerned those two items against her. In this respect, if she is the candidate, they feel they may have a chance. With any other “clean” candidate, they will not have a chance in hell of gaining the presidency in 08 and perhaps for at least another decade or so with all of the scandals and overt corruption within their own party. Let’s face it: The GOP has “cancer” and it is “metastasizing” before our eyes. If they fail to make the necessary adjustments to excise it (impeachment of a corrupt executive), then they will die a slow, painful death.

#94 The problem is that there are too many women in this country who simply do not trust Hillary at this point. She, pretty deftly (deviously?) inserted herself into residency in NY simply to be elected to office there….and, of course, the preposterous role-playing during MonicaGate where she affected the “stand by your man” role – again, probably to pave the way for herself to look more dignified in her future role as a candidate. Simply put: Hillary cannot be trusted. Whether she is a male or female becomes irrelevant where basic trust is concerned and, after learning the Bush lesson of blind faith and unwarranted trust, I do not believe that americans can take the chance with this democracy to have an enigma in the oval office.

    ~Theodore Roosevelt

“It is unpatriotic not to tell the truth, whether about the president or anyone else.”

    ~Theodore Roosevelt

“That we are to stand by the president, right or wrong is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Your republican president has presided over a huge expansion of the federal government and its influence. He has broken federal law. You are correct, but the numbers don’t look good for you. Dems in the house went from 32 down to 33 up. That’s a 55 vote swing — biggest since the Great Depression. 21 Repub Senators are up for reelection and only 9 Dem Senators in 2008 — that’s further reason for worry on the Repub side. Bush has the lowest approval ratings of any two-termer at this point in his presidency in history. With pending vetos on popularly-supported measures, he may dip well into the 20’s before he’s done. I’ll be surprised if he even has a prime-time speech at the next Repub convention. He’s toxic to your longterm interests as a repub. If all of the above were not enough, the American people sure seem to be more in line with Dem policies when asked in polls.

So, there you have it. Have a nice day!

Not terribly many hippies would appreciate the folk songs I know…

    For example:

I was born on a Dublin street where the Royal drums do beat
And the loving English feet they tramped all over us,
And each and every night when me father’d come home tight
He’d invite the neighbors outside with this chorus:

Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Flanders
Tell them how the IRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Killashandra.

Come let me hear you tell
How you slammed the great Pernell,
When you fought them well and truly persecuted,
Where are the smears and jeers
That you bravely let us hear
When our heroes of sixteen were executed.

Come tell us how you slew
Those brave Arabs two by two
Like the Zulus they had spears and bows and arrows,
How you bravely slew each one
    With your sixteen pounder gun
And you frightened them poor natives to their marrow.

    The day is coming fast
And the time is here at last,
When each yeoman will be cast aside before us,
And if there be a need
Sure my kids wil sing, “Godspeed!”
With a verse or two of Steven Beehan’s chorus.

They are just 2 of the many shining examples of the right wing that worship only one thing, the right wing. Patriotism means believing anything any republican says without question. They’ll throw Joe Lieberman in there to appear bipartisan willing to compromise at times.

If they knew that America would founder tomorrow they would still parrot and worship the neocons that will eventually cause it. Look, the Republican Party, from its point of view, has to win in 2008. A loss then will mean death – the final end of the party.

The reasons are many, but can be summarised on one simple basis:

Conservatism has failed the “Does it work?” test. Point blank failed.

This next election will be the last ditch attempt by the “conservative” movement to survive. If they win America loses, and if America loses, the whole world’s economy collapses. It is for this reason I oppose Hillary Clinton now, and if she wins the Democrat nomination I will have to argue in her favour. I live in South Africa, our economy is slowly coming right, a global depression would destroy us.

Hillary can lose in 2008. She may well win, but she can lose. She is the only Democrat now who can lose. America’s left must learn to look past the fact that the Republicans hate her guts, look past the idiots like Beck and Limbaugh and ask, will she win?

I’m not fond of Senator Clinton, and I’m hoping that she doesn’t become the Democratic candidate, but a) she’s far from ’socialist’, and b) picking a President shouldn’t be based on what the candidate’s voice is like, any more than picking a president based on with whom one would rather have a beer.

“Dems have lost just as many elections in the last 60 years as repubs.” –rabidbunny

Dems didn’t lose either 2000 or 2004. Both elections were stolen.

Good evidence exists that at least 300,000 Dem votes were stolen in Ohio. The entire Cuyahoga voting board has been fired for cause; Cuyahoga tabulation computers were illegallly hooked up to the Internet thoughout the count; someone illegally printed out early voting totals; two board staff have been sent to jail for fudging the recount preparation; the SecState was the Bush campaign chair, and tossed tens of thousands of absentee voter ballots because they weren’t on the right weight of paper (until a court stopped him, but the votes weren’t reinstated). Waits in line to vote in Cuyahoga went from 2 hours to 10 hours, and reports of 22 hour unavailability of voting stations exist. Clear evidence of shifting voting equipment away from populated Dem areas to increase those waits exists.

There are several other clearcut irregularities in Ohio in 2004. Bush ‘won’ by 11,000 votes. They stole something more than 20 times that many.

Funny thing about America’s economy, Getting sick is the number 1 caught of bankruptcies. No other first world country has that claim, and bankruptcy is not a positive thing for American business, it means they cannot get the money they are owed back.

Of course, this is why the main guys currently arguing in favour of universal health coverage are none other then the frigging corporations.

Of course, universal health care would mean government actually helping someone other then you, so you object because you are a whiny assed, selfish conservative who believes that other people benefitting from something is in some wierd way, bad.

Oh, and at the exact same time, you argue in favour of government having the right to read your private communications, abduct you in secret, torture you in secret, try you in secret and execute you in secret – just by naming you a foreign enemy combatant and not giving you the right to appeal.

Yep, the left really is for giving more power to the government then the right, now isn’t it?

“Umm, whoever this person is he should really grow up. Why is it that when a woman runs for president, everything but her political stances is attacked? It’s shameful and idiotic.”

Actually, on several occasions he had segments about her political views: How unsteady they were, how nobody knows what she really wants, etc. Don’t make assumptions.

  239. Johnsom says:

He’s right, when I hear that wench talk, I have to hold my hands over my ears. Hillary is nauseating. That’s the real important point here, not how much you idiots hate Glenn Beck.

Bruce – Isn’t it easy to be generous with other people’s money? It seems that is a “special” talent of yours. It’s like a friend of mine who wants to help the homeless. I said, “Nothing is stopping you – take one home if you want.”

Same thing with health care – if you don’t think the emergency rooms and clinics help enough people, dig into your pocket and pick up the health insurance costs for someone YOU would like to help. I am certain you would derive a great deal of satisfaction from such an endeavor…..

VV, I pay taxes, probably something you have never ever. though of doing yourself. It is a funny thing about you righties, you whinge about high taxes as if the services granted by your government are free. Guess what, it isn’t, and it isn’t a matter of generosity with other people’s money, it is a matter of everyone benefits, everyone pays. You think for one second that if universal health care came about and you got sick I believe you wouldn’t take advantage, and not only take advantage but whine about the line at your doctor’s?

This is a service which is offered, which will benefit you as well as everyone else. But because it will benefit everyone else, because I know damn well it isn’t the benefit to your holier then thou self that you object to, you object.

This is a matter of your selfish disregard for other people. It is a matter of you loathing the idea of helping others, it is a matter of you personally having benefitted from every single liberal policy you slam, and hating the fact that others might benefit the same.

If so many of you Hate Glen Beck, whay do you watch him? Sounds like you are the stupid ones doing something that you obviously dislike so much when you have a choice! Just don’t watch. Nobody is making you! This is not a Dictatorship, it’s a Democracxcy.

Dear Benevolent Bruce – Taxes should support the military, infrastructure, law enforcement, fire fighting and the education system – Period. Taxes should NOT subsidize irresponsible behaviour or rich ranchers. I believe in donating generously to the charities I choose and believe you and your progressive friends would do the same.

I don’t intend to utilize “Universal Mediocre Health Insurance”, but please , Bruce, be my guest. As my aunt who lives in Victoria BC noted, the Canadian system started out great….now it’s a mess. Enjoy!

Amusing. Hate speech is now covered by the 1st amendment? Only when it comes from conservotards.
    Comment by MargeAggedon — March 30, 2007 @ 12:46

I haven’t checked the actual statistics, but I’d bet the number of court cases covering 1st Amendment protected speech are hugely slanted to the left. They don’t cover the right to complain that someone has an annoying voice. They concern the right to speak and/or publish filth, violence, and burning the U.S. flag. S-P’s have pretty much eliminated the credibility of any Leftist complaning that certain speech shouldn’t be protected.

Glenn….use your freedom of choice, while one remains, and simply turn off the sound. Simple solution to a non-issue, wouldn’t you say?
    Comment by Ben Dover — March 30, 2007 @ 12:42 pm

Not a good solution with the possiblilty that she could be elected and we have to listen to her for four years. You wouldn’t suggest that Americans simply not listen to any president would you? Hardly a way to have a well informed electorate.

Why would anyone listen to two so-called “recovering alcohol and drug addicts” anyway. I think they both need to re-visit the 12 steps, fast.
    Comment by ohnonotagain — March 30, 2007 @ 12:48 pm

You’re on very thin ice here. S-P’s being the party of legalized drug use and compassionate sentencing for those convicted of drug crimes.

All of the women I know value their vote more than to throw it away just to “teach men…a lesson.” Women generally examine the issues and vote for the person they think will best serve our country. I’d like to see a woman president, but not just any woman who happens to run. Hillary is definitely not the one I’d like to see. And my opposition to her is based on her politics, not her voice or to get back at someone.

Conservatives say, “she’s a bitch, I hate her, her voice drives me crazy” and then “you progressives are all about hate speech.”
    Unbelievable.
    Comment by Bluedog49 — March 30, 2007 @ 1:22 pm

S-P’s have they edge in complaints about hate speech. How about a program to search this site for hate speech(including filth, implications of homosexuality) and see where most of the hate comes from. Opposition to your position is not the definition of hate speech.

#91, Defending Hillary? Hm, I thought it was just another display of the crappy things the “liberal” media gets to say about Democrats with no true examination of what the say…

“hillary speaks in souther accent” It was all over the news; watched the clip, and she uses it for a short cutting from a southern writing. She did NOT speak in a ’southern accent’ during her speech…

That’s not ‘defending’ Hillary Clinton, it’s bringing attention to the lies in the media, against whomever.

For those people who think that an african-american male has more of a chance than a white woman at being President, you’re handing the election over to the republicans. What America do you live in?

There will be a time and place for everything, and what I’m saying is racist, but don’t blame the observer…have you driven through the southern United States lately?

Secondly, would most of the ‘progressive’ hillary-haters agree that a person’s voting record is important? If not the most important aspect of a candidate?

    Obama’s and Hillary’s voting records are I D E N T I C A L.

She’s much closer to winning than what people could imagine.
