Your absolutely wrong. Prove it? : Is killing someone right or wrong?...I hope you can't choose because there are no absolutes for you!

239.I’ll give you the answer, because I know you can’t come up with it on your own: There is no absolute answer. The universe is indifferent and does not side with either one us, making us both right and both wrong at the same time. Therefore, no absolute.

Again, as I have already explained - there are some absolutes, they just are beyond our ability to know them, therefore they really don’t count in our realm or for us to rely on them.

Absolutely...False! There is truth, and there are lies. I think you believe that since you can't figure out right from wrong, there is no way to be sure for anyone, right?

The universe is not indifferent! And you said "making us both right and wrong at the same time": complete confusion!...heralds back to my previous statement about right and wrong.

More Rush: “USA Today’s got a poll: ‘Do you think something’s wrong about the firing of eight US attorneys?’ 72% said yes. 72% of the American people, a bunch of blithering idiots who have no idea what they’re talking about, but yet they voted, so these polls matter.”

It is not likely that the MAJORITY is stupid, it is far more likely that the MINORITY is stupid.

"Jake" is a liar. There were three (3) US Attorneys fired from 1981 to 2005. What happened in Dec. 2005 is unprecedented. The CRS (Congressional Research Service, a non-partisan arm of the US Congress) report proves this. Bush fired Carol Lam because she was getting to close to California GOP Reps. Lewis, Pombo, and Doolittle. It's not "politics," it's the very definition of the crime of Obstruction of Justice. I personally had read enough to know she was after these GOP reps, so there is no way Bush did not know. It is a CRIME.

For the record, at one point in time, MORE than 72% of Americans supported this President — weren’t they “blithering idiots” then according to you guys?

1. People like Rush and O'Reilly call anyone who disagrees with them idiots. Normal, sane human beings do not.

2. This would also be the time frame that the 72% was being told that Hussein was trying to build nukes, and that Iraq caused 9/11.

Jake, they pay you too much. For the kind of money you're getting you should be putting out better stuff.

Don't know if the soi desant 'Captain Kirk' thinks he/she/it is being trendy or what with that blog name, but he/she/it is certainly not showing any signs of being aware of what has happened in the past two decades.
Politicians from both parties have been corrupt; but not until the elections of 1994 has a party institutionalized corruption on a national scale (well, at least not since the Republicans did it back in the 1870/80's). That is the difference.
Besides, politics isn't, nor should it be, only about what's in it for me (see the present Republican Party for what happens when that is your attitude).

Ya know, Jake - even back in late 2000 I was putting Bush supporters in three distinct groups: the fooled, the stupid, and the complicit. To which group do you belong?

if there are no absolutes how the hell can we fight a regime like the Nazi Germany regime and tell them they must be destroyed because they are evil and wrong?

The lack of absolutes doesn't stop people from acting on their opinions. You are aware of the Inquisition, the Crusades, witch trials and other violent things done in the name of the Christian god, right?

Cannibalism is right in some cultures, and wrong in others. Consensual sex and drinking age is 16 in some countries and 18/21 in others. Catholics are right in some churches while Southern Baptists are right in others. There is no way to determine who is right and who is wrong because there is no scale for such absolutes beyond personal opinion. Prove otherwise. So far, you're batting a big fat ZERO.

you make less and less sense the more you post unbelieve.
Comment by Captain Kirk — March 30, 2007 @ 3:06 pm

Only because you are too stupid to comprehend.

If you make another post of reference directed at me in any capacity, it means that you are admitting that I am right and you are not only wrong, but a raging neo-Conservative...

Have fun with that. LOL

so, there are no absolutes, right? according to what you are saying, there are no absolutes…

Name them then...

so do tell, how do you dare tell someone they are wrong….

Wrong is subjective. Hello... ?

i mean if there are no absolutes how can you say that the right wingers are wrong and thatyou are right because in order to believe this, you have to believe in an absolute, that you are right and right wingers are wrong.

Nope. Wrong again.

Here's proof that your are wrong (see I can validate my claims). Say you think abortion is wrong, and I do not. Keeping in mind that I reject all organized religion and accept a Science-based reality, how do we determine 'absolutely' which of us is right?

I'll give you the answer, because I know you can't come up with it on your own: There is no absolute answer. The universe is indifferent and does not side with either one us, making us both right and both wrong at the same time. Therefore, no absolute.

Again, as I have already explained - there are some absolutes, they just are beyond our ability to know them, therefore they really don't count in our realm or for us to rely on them.

try to keep up, ok?

Just because I've lapped you repeated times, and am closing in again, it doesn't mean I'm behind you... LOL

so, there are no absolutes, right? according to what you are saying, there are no absolutes…

Name them then…

so do tell, how do you dare tell someone they are wrong….

Wrong is subjective. Hello… ?

i mean if there are no absolutes how can you say that the right wingers are wrong and thatyou are right because in order to believe this, you have to believe in an absolute, that you are right and right wingers are wrong.

Nope. Wrong again.

Here’s proof that your are wrong (see I can validate my claims). Say you think abortion is wrong, and I do not. Keeping in mind that I reject all organized religion and accept a Science-based reality, how do we determine ‘absolutely’ which of us is right?

I’ll give you the answer, because I know you can’t come up with it on your own: There is no absolute answer. The universe is indifferent and does not side with either one us, making us both right and both wrong at the same time. Therefore, no absolute.

Again, as I have already explained – there are some absolutes, they just are beyond our ability to know them, therefore they really don’t count in our realm or for us to rely on them.

try to keep up, ok?

Oh yeah, I forgot, they also gave us an utter lack of oversight, allowing the President to forward his radical philosophy of presidential power and the ability to staff incompetents at nearly every level of government based solely on their loyalty to the President.

Captain Kirk said:

remember that Democrats controlled Congress from the 1950s until 1993…what did the Democrat congress do for us? and from 1994 until 2006, what did the Republican Congress do for us?

Well, they gave us: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, defeating Hitler, the Marshall plan and the postwar reconstruction of Europe, the general social policy that led to the explosion of hte middle class, the GI bill, and an assist on the intersate highway (since they had to fund it). They also helped give us Vietnam.

And the Republican congress of the past ten years has given us...um...um...tax cuts, cuts to student aid, a bloated drug benefit package, war in Iraq, deficits that put all other deficits to [at least partial] shame, and um...what else?

zep tepi...

I agree, most Democrats in office believe this war is horrific and most Republicans not in office (according to the polls) also think so.

I think that the true prolbem in Iraq is that we went in there with too few troops. If we would have gone with 500,000 troops and kept them there until all was well, i think things would be very different today.

Rumsfeld for too long had wanted, he pushed this under Reagan, a stronger, faster, SMALLER armed forces and he thought he could do this in Iraq.

we should have followed the Powell doctrine, go with incredible numbers and fire power and overwhelm the enemy.
