The lack of absolutes doesn’t stop people from acting on their opinions. You are aware of the Inquisition, the Crusades, witch trials and other violent things done in the name of the Christian god, right?

Cannibalism is right in some cultures, and wrong in others. Consensual sex and drinking age is 16 in some countries and 18/21 in others. Catholics are right in some churches while Southern Baptists are right in others. There is no way to determine who is right and who is wrong because there is no scale for such absolutes beyond personal opinion. Prove otherwise. So far, you’re batting a big fat ZERO.

Here’s proof that your are wrong (see I can validate my claims). Say you think abortion is wrong, and I do not. Keeping in mind that I reject all organized religion and accept a Science-based reality, how do we determine ‘absolutely’ which of us is right?

I’ll give you the answer, because I know you can’t come up with it on your own: There is no absolute answer. The universe is indifferent and does not side with either one us, making us both right and both wrong at the same time. Therefore, no absolute.

Just because I’ve lapped you repeated times, and am closing in again, it doesn’t mean I’m behind you… LOL

remember that Democrats controlled Congress from the 1950s until 1993…what did the Democrat congress do for us? and from 1994 until 2006, what did the Republican Congress do for us?

Well, they gave us: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, defeating Hitler, the Marshall plan and the postwar reconstruction of Europe, the general social policy that led to the explosion of hte middle class, the GI bill, and an assist on the intersate highway (since they had to fund it). They also helped give us Vietnam.

And the Republican congress of the past ten years has given us…um…um…tax cuts, cuts to student aid, a bloated drug benefit package, war in Iraq, deficits that put all other deficits to [at least partial] shame, and um…what else?

I agree, most Democrats in office believe this war is horrific and most Republicans not in office (according to the polls) also think so.

I think that the true prolbem in Iraq is that we went in there with too few troops. If we would have gone with 500,000 troops and kept them there until all was well, i think things would be very different today.

Rumsfeld for too long had wanted, he pushed this under Reagan, a stronger, faster, SMALLER armed forces and he thought he could do this in Iraq.

we should have followed the Powell doctrine, go with incredible numbers and fire power and overwhelm the enemy.
