It seems like Clinton just inherited Bush Sr's mess. Bush Sr. supported Sadam against Iran, then didn't and then didn't finish the job with Desert Storm. Sadam went on to murder thousands. None of this has anything to do with Osam Bin Laden and 911 anyway. By now, everyone should have been able to read plenty of non-partisan press and listen to enough Middle East scholars to know that Bin Laden and Sadam were enemies. There's no reason to call anyone names because most of us were ignorant about the complexities of the Middle East. None of us should have that excuse any longer. It's causing too many Americans and Iraqis their lives.

Comment on #1 - Jake, still blaming Clinton? Get over it, in case you haven't heard, Clinton hasn't been pres for 7 years.
Comment on # 8 - Jake, he (Clinton) avoided it by not attacking Iraq. Big duh!
Comment on # 132 - Valiant Venus, typical hypocritical drivvle from knee-jerk right (as if you had all the answers). What's good for the goose is good for the gander, so get 'goosed.'
This is my first time writing on this blog. All you (us) progressives don't have to resort to name-calling to these 'unenlightened' right-wingers. Just use their words back on them, adding the facts. It's that easy. They sink themselves! Thanks for the entertainment, righties

[...] Talking To Syria: If anyone out there still buys the “We don’t talk to our enemies!” bullshit, just stop. Of course we do. Everyone does. Talking to your enemies is a necessary step in, you know, not being locked into a state of permanent warfare. The United States deals with Saudi Arabia, which is no worse than Syria. Hell, we once allied ourself with Stalin, choosing the slightly lesser of two terrible evils. We can talk to Syria. And if George Bush is too busy playing cowboy to do it, then I’m glad Nancy Pelosi is willing and able. Besides, it’s not like she’s the only one who has been talking to Syria lately. [...]
