Time magazine

has no time for the U.S. attorney scandal.

  1. ForTruth says:

It’s still better than the Weekly Blandard.

  2. Jason M. Hendler says:

Time Magazine is correct, who cares about one more hit job on Rove and company? It is Dem business as usual, if you can’t outrun your opponent, then trip them – who needs quality candidates, when your opposition research team shreds your opponents? This “approach” will leave American voters with a derth of real leaders to choose from, come 2008 (which is the only way Hill’reh can win).

  3. Patrick1 says:

Because it is not a scandal.

  4. helenahandbasket says:

Time is not on your side; Time will not tell; Time waits for everyone.

  5. Jake says:

The New York Times wasn’t reporting the Iranian capture of British soldiers either, so?

  6. Uncle Ho says:

Time is becoming a reichwing mouthpiece. Having Bill Kristol as a guest columnist is irrefutable evidence. I’m glad I canceled my subscription a while back.

  7. Jake says:

If anything, Time should pull out it’s previous articles showing that Carter and Clinton fired U.S. Attorneys for political reasons as well — EVERYONE does it — maybe that’s why it’s so “uninteresting”?

  8. Jake says:

    Uncle Ho:

Don’t look now, but the L.A. Times has asked DONALD RUMSFELD to be guest editor!!!!! Hurry, hide the women and children!

  9. Ben Dover says:

For any of the neocon asswipes here claiming that the New York Times does not report on the issues in Iran, please go to this link and then scroll down

  10. Zep Tepi says:

I cannot recall the last time I read TIME, probably since they called Hitler man of the year.

  11. Ben Dover says:

    Comment by Jake

But how then do you know about it?

  13. Republicans Are The Fear And Smear Party says:

I cancelled my subscription to Time when they announced that Bill Kristol would be a columnist. They should just change their name to “Fox News Magazine.”

  14. Jake says:

For the record, I get my news from other sources than the New York Times (sources that were reporting about the capture, you know, the DAY it happened).

  15. Jackie Rawlings says:

Time doesn’t care that criminals are running the White House they did the same thing during the Nixon scandal. Time was paid to support Nixon as the scandal started and pushed the public to think that Watergate was just the Democrats way of hurting Nixon. Well we know how that turned out. Ever wonder why a President would resign when he really didn’t do anything at all. Wonder why he had to be pardon for a crime that never happen. Who really did do the break in, Bush will show in history books that it was Bill Clinton who did the Watergate Break in and Nixon didn’t remember anything. The pardon was just a way of saving Clinton. Sounds like a good Time report. Now Gonzales has damaged the trust of our Justice System but no problem liars always win. Karl Rove thinks he Jack Bauer of 24 as Karl has the KCR Unit to continue the crime wave.

  16. Zep Tepi says:

    Comment by Jake

Okay, then you heard about this scandal from? Rush?

  17. s says:

Time Magazine has been owned by the right for quite a while. Keep up the good work trolls…..posting first or near the top on all of TPs posts. Trying to set the tone. Pathetic. :)
You fail. If you think you are changing minds, confusing anyone with a brain, or achieving your sleazy goals, think again. Just keep showing up here so it is fresh in everyone’s mind what asses you are. Jason H Hendler and Jake. That means you kiddies.

  18. JesusChrist_GodofWAR says:

Time follows, just like our “leaders” follow.

Both are at the beck and call of ReichWingNutBalls and ChristoFascistTerrorists.

  19. Zep Tepi says:

Huh, I have made it off Jakes ignore list. =)

  20. old hack says:

What noone seems to be acknowledging is that this isn’t just another Rove hit job. This is a Speedy Gonzales hit. They got him lying under oath. They get rid of him and thats one step closer to shutting down guantanimo and restoring our Civil Rights. Little smelling salt for you there.

  21. upside00 says:

Interesting bit of trivia here: Life (of Time-Life) just stopped publishing this past week due to lack of reader (and ad interest) and I am betting Time won’t be too far behind.

It has turned into such a weak NeoCon rag that it is about a third smaller than it was a year ago…….BBBBB Bye Bye Time, and it is about Time too!

  22. Jo-Ann says:

No wonder Time magazine has only three ads left in the print version. Lose readership much? Selective news is an obvious bow to the right. Fortunately it’s no longer visited by a captive gullible audience. Time to be gone.

  23. MacGregor says:

    Jake, Patrick1, and Jason Hendler:

We talked among ourselves off line and have come to the surprising agreement that after being exposed to the wisdom of your ideology these past few monts, we are in complete agreement with you. For that reason, Think Progress is being discontinued. On behalf of all contributors and readers, we’d like to extend a heartfelt Thank You you for the enligntenment you each have shared with each and every one of us, and to wish you all rest and relaxation in persuing your new hobbies, whatever they may be. Good luck, and thanks again.

P.S: Don’t bother checking back, as we’re pulling the plug at the end of this post.

  24. ForTruth says:

Sometimes one has to take a step back from the whole damn thing and look at it for what it is. Hey I’ll NEVER swing right, but I am not blind to the mistakes and improprieties of the left either. And sometimes the left can get pretty rabid too. Politics in general is a dirty, slimy, business. There is a lot of negative energy and lots of angry people with partisan agendas. Sometimes the whole thing appears unhealthy. Taking joy in other’s defeat is not healthy.

Lets keep it all in perspective here. Thanks.

  25. MrHaney says:

It will be fun watching the Republicans up for election in 2008 pretend they aren’t “loyal Bushies.” Rove can stay right where he is–with Bush’s approval rating half of what Clinton’s was, Rove has his own “mission accomplished” of a divided America–too bad his side rates

  26. MrHaney says:

  27. Mr Douglas says:

Mr Haney about those tractor parts you sold me…

  28. Jake says:

Well, Zep Tepi, you were only on the “Ignore List” per YOUR REQUEST — you posted several times to me specifically — I did take Crump’s Brother off today since he said he didn’t mean to avoid my earlier questions. So, do you want to be on it, or not?

  29. Angry One says:

For the latest news, email archives, hearings, legal filings and other essential documents on the Bush DOJ prosecutor firings, see:
    “The U.S. Attorney Scandal Documents.”

  30. SKdeA says:

Who reads new printed on paper anymore?
The right wing that pays for it only.

  31. Mr Douglas says:

There is a lot of negative energy and lots of angry people with partisan agendas. Sometimes the whole thing appears unhealthy. Taking joy in other’s defeat is not healthy.

I think I love you Fortruth. Politics is, at levels unseen, a very ugly business that is simply mind-boggling in it’s complexities. Those here have great heart and lovely spirits and souls and without them mankind would surely devolve into a very barbaric existence.

The truth is that many people in this world are very ugly, the Earth is however beautiful. And though many here take a beating for their peaceful views, it is them that supplies the fulcrum and never shall the government target you with sedition.

Evil needs good, Good does not need evil.

Let no man come here and accuse you of being unpatriotic nor of supporting our troops. Hate is the weed that has grown among Gods wheat, and it has been allowed to grow until such time that is can be separated.

    Godspeed.

    Comment by Jake — March 30, 2007 @ 5:40 pm

It doesn’t matter how many times you repeat it, it’s still not true.

That you insist on repeating it, in spite of having read the many posts carefully explaining why it is simply not true, means that you are an intellectually dishonest hack.

  33. Zep Tepi says:

Well, Zep Tepi, you were only on the “Ignore List” per YOUR REQUEST — you posted several times to me specifically — I did take Crump’s Brother off today since he said he didn’t mean to avoid my earlier questions. So, do you want to be on it, or not?
    Comment by Jake

Jake you do not need a list, that is the only reason I asked to be on it, you have shown me that it doesn’t truly exist or matter. =)

    God Bless

  34. SKdeA says:

Jake, Zep is playing you. Fool that you are.
I think Jake and Jason are the same guy. I haven’t seen Jason on any threads for weeks, then we got Jaked, and suddenly…

  35. Jake says:

I know that I don’t “need” a list — but it does indeed exist — I am looking at it right now. Do you want to be on it, or not?

  36. Zep Tepi says:

Zep is playing you Jake -SkdeA

I am not playing with him, it is he who plays himself.

Have I baffled you yet again Jake?

You see Jake, you have not taken the time to research my moniker, if you did you would know in which direction, starm which I point =)

You have gone your whole life seeking truth and now It stands before you. Yet you deny it and the light I speak of.

You admitted to me you did not understand the covenant of the three, the trinity. Does not the bible say the number of the Lord is three? And the number of man is six?

What then is the number of life Jake?

  37. Marie says:

Time magazine is under the same umbrella as CNN, and that is Time-Warner. This is looks like another case of the consolidation of media editing which news articles they (and their owners) prefer that the public have knowledge of. Joe Klein is also a bigwig at Time, and we all know his politics these days.
All that aside, I find it inexcusable that a nationally prominent, news magazine would not cover the major political story of the month. I believe it is an abandonment of its own mission, and the public will pay the price in continued ignorance. But the owners will be pleased.

  38. Gregor Samsa says:

    Comment by Jake — March 30, 2007 @ 5:37 pm

What the hell are you talking about? Not only is this idiotic post off-topic, it is also patently wrong. You should at least try to tell lies that are more difficult to verify and debunk.

The British sailors were capture on the 23rd of March. Here is the article from the New York Times’ website (dated on Friday the 23rd):

LONDON, March 23 — Fifteen British sailors carrying out a routine inspection in the Persian Gulf were captured at gunpoint and taken into custody by Iranian forces on Friday morning, the British Ministry of Defense said.
Iran Detains British Sailors in Waters Off Iraq

What a pathetic petty liar you are. No wonder you throw your weight behind Bush and Gonzales.

No time for front page issues..? Their print means nothing to me. I would rather by a world westling mag.

  41. Craig Jackson says:

it is rebulicans firing rebulicans for respecting the rule of law, some people want it so bad in other places like iraq, but could care less about it here.

And hendler, i was a repulican, until I finally saw what these people are up to. Does it not concern you that we just flew to china to beg them not to cut funding for the war??? not the Dems, but China has the power to cut funding for the war.

They were going to stop buying our debt and that would leave us bankrupt, some conservative republican you are, get back to the fundimentals and stop eating these guys crap. we should all raise up above the politics of this and look and the real deal.

  42. VerbalKint says:

Maybe Hendler can brag about how right he was that the Republicans would sweep the 2006 Congressional elections. Oh, wait a moment, that didn’t happen…..never mind.

  43. Bluedog49 says:

This is nothing new for Time. Time Magazine knew that the Bush administration was lying about its involvement in outing Valerie Plame BEFORE the 2004 election, but chose not to report it. Time had a NASA imaging expert who had expert testimony that Bush had cheated during his election debates but chose not to publish it. Time has been carrying Bush’s water for years now. They’re a disgrace; a fallen publication.

  44. Marie says:

Are there some trolls here mistaking the New York Times for Time magazine?

  45. dixie blood says:

    Maybe Hendler can…

    Comment by VerbalKint — March 30, 2007 @ 7:00 pm

I don’t think so…he’s a racist sh!thead who gradgiatted Stanford an “Ivy League” school. Right Jacka$$ Moron Hitler?…Tell us all about your fake patent again and all that racist shit about black Africans that are losers!!! Tell me more about that!!! Go ahead white sheet head!!!

Jacka$$ Moron Hitler, don’t make me put up the post again you loser racist bastard!!!

Just go away and don’t come back!!!!

  46. John says:

Time’s circulation has fallen by 17 percent from 1988 to 2006 and I’m sure that playing politics will continue that trend.

  47. Raymond Funamoto says:

THIS IS PRECISELY THE REASON I DO NOT READ NOR DO I SUBSCRIBE TO TIME(tm) MAGAZINE ANY MORE!!!!! AND I’M SERIOUSLY CONTEMPLATING CANCELLING MY SUBSCRIPTION TO MY LOCAL RAG CALLED The Honolulu Advertiser(tm) BECAUSE IT HAS STARTED TO SHIFT TO THE RIGHT, ALONG WITH OTHER MSM IN PRINT AND ON AIR—–THEY HAVE AN EDITORIAL ARTICLE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK BY THAT DECREPIT OLD FOSSIL repugnant-repub rightwingnut crank fudge-pachyderm and neo-CON-man Victor Davis Hanson, who belongs in a HOOVER(tm) VACUUM CLEANER, NOT THE S-Think(STINK) tank The Hoover Institution, NAMED AFTER THAT IDIOT U.S. Prez Hoobert Heever, WHO SO PERFECTLY FORTOLD “Prosperity Is Just Around The Corner”—IN THE MIDST OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION, IN 1932—KIND OF REMINDS YOU OF SOMEONE WE KNOW WELL, DOESN’T IT? THE TRICK TO KNOWING YA HISTORY, Victor Davis Hanson and CHIMPya, IS LEARNING FROM THE MISTAKES OF OTHERS—-NOT REPEATING THEM, YA NITWITS!!!!!

  48. Jay Randal says:

Time defends the Bush Regime, but after Dubya falls from power then Time will kick him too.

  49. TerrytheTurtle says:

Now that Jason Fact Mangler, known dissembler and part-time mysoginist is here, perhaps he can explain the following from the Thinkfats Thread from this morning?

’ll take that as an admission of guilt. Despite the delay in getting that admission to us, I still forgive you.

    Oh glory day.

What I wanted was the truth from you. It’s really shameful that it took two and a half hours to beat it out of you.

Well, gee, I guess some of us have jobs that won’t let us spend all day just looking for things to post. But I guess next time I’ll just tell everybody that I can’t do what they need, cause hendler needs some answer ASAP.

Jason, are you and Dale sharing the same body? Not healthy – even for an ‘Ivy league’ graduate…. seek help..

  50. gooderservice says:

I noticed C-Span on Friday, Washington Journal, Brian Lamb, didn’t read any articles or headlines from Sampson’s testimony on Thursday. Ummmmm That puzzled me at the time.

Really, why didn’t Brian Lamb read any articles regarding that? Sure, they’ve had some people on to talk about it, but even when one of the authors of “The Wrong Stuff: The Extraordinary Saga of Randy “Duke” Cunningham, the Most Corrupt Congressman Ever Caught” was on last week (don’t remember his name), a caller said that Clinton fired all the attorneys, did bush do the same, the author said, “No.” Then he said, “I don’t know.” That struck me as incredibly misleading and downright idiotic and stupid. He wrote a book on Cunningham and now wants to talk about Carol Lam and why she was fired. He damned well better know what the facts are regarding the last 25 years and attorney firings.

If anyone’s interested, I still have that on my Tivo, albeit analog; not digital.

  51. InOnTheFly says:

It is simple: Time = printed version of Fox “News” Channel.

  52. Com-n-sense says:

The duplicity of bush is stunning. On the same day that bush is visiting real men who were wounded in his failed war we find out he lied about Pat Tillman to his family and the American people for his own political gain.

Words fail me. I don’t know if there are words to describe how low a man bush is.

  53. DoingNuance says:

I am 53 years old and do not remember a time in my life when Time Magazine did not come to my home every week. Sadly, I recently made the difficult decision to cancel my subscription. Time Magazine has deteriorated over the last few years. It’s news coverage is at best sketchy and at worst right wing propoganda no better than Fox Noise.
