Cheney visit sparks protests at Brigham Young.
“Dick Cheney is traveling later this month to Utah, the reddest of Red States, to deliver the commencement address at the Mormon Church’s Brigham Young University. … The university has approved a rare campus protest this week against Cheney’s visit, and is considering a second on commencement day. One online petition asking BYU to rescind the invitation has gathered more than 2,000 signatures, many from students and professors as well as alumni.”

They can’t say it’ll divide the country when only a small fraction of the country still supports them.
They can’t say it’ll cost too much, because they have had no problem funding a soon-to-be trillion dollar war in Iraq.
They can’t say they don’t have the support, because after 60 Minutes last night and what the REPUBLICAN Congress has been caught doing – by Republicans, I don’t think it would be hard to support.
So then, why are we still not hearing about Artciles of Impeachment from Congress?
We deserve an answer… A real answer.

Take a wager? Doesn’t sound like you’re very confident… So what if they do. Utah isn’t a crucial state with big electorial votes.
You’re missing the real point – that you’re a dying breed, even among the most hard core conservatives.

Former Sen. John Edwards raised more than $14 million since the beginning of the year. Clinton also transferred $10 million from her Senate campaign account, bringing her total receipts for the quarter to $36 million.
Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois — sandwiched in public opinion polls between Clinton and Edwards — had yet to reveal his totals. Obama was expected to be among the top Democratic fundraisers.

The mormon leadership has done any number of bone-headed things during my lifetime, and this ranks right up there. Way to underscore the mormon church’s “political neutrality,” Brethren.

And everywhere people will be using signs, their bodies, chalk, or anything else they can think of to spell out IMPEACH! Why would BYU choose the VP as the speaker when his demonstrated values are so contrary to the morality taught within the University? I don’t understand, unless it would have invited Hitler as well.

Don’t let a pitiful few 200 College Democrats spoil the amentias occasion. The Bush and Cheney administration have keep the country safe from a second al Qaeda attack for 6 years and counting. I’d listen to Cheney speak any day over the whacked out “earth has a fever†Al Gore or traitors to our soldiers Harry Reid and Nacy Pelosi. Go Cougs!
