From the press release: “The bill requires the President to begin safely redeploying U.S. troops from Iraq 120 days from enactment, as required by the emergency supplemental spending bill the Senate passed last week. The bill ends funding for the war, with three narrow exceptions, effective March 31, 2008.” Reid states, “If the President vetoes the supplemental appropriations bill and continues to resist changing course in Iraq, I will work to ensure this legislation receives a vote in the Senate in the next work period.”
someone should have told the putz obama. if the quotes are true, he has become a right wing apologist and likes war. someone say it isn’t so?

April 2nd, 2007 at 10:44 amReid states, “If the President vetoes the supplemental appropriations bill and continues to resist changing course in Iraq, I will work to ensure this legislation receives a vote in the Senate in the next work period.â€
Let’s hope you mean it Harry… And while you’re at it – put Impeachment back on teh table.
As long as Bush gets no negative consequences for his negative actions, the next time we’re talking about “the war” it might very well be with Iran…
As a kid I was taught that the best way to stop a bully is by standing up to him or her. It works. Try it.
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:48 amYay Feingold! My favorite senator!
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:48 amWhy couldn’t Feingold run for President? I was so ready to go to work on that campaign. This guy is a real leader…
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:50 amGet them home Feingold & Reid.
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:52 amI hate America, which is why I support invading and occupying countries which are not hotbeds of Islamic extremist terror, and oppose going after bin Laden.
I hate America, which is why I agree with bin Laden that American liberals, with their feminism, cultural diversity, and tolerance for differences, should be subjected to sharia law, or its American equivalent.
I will work tirelessly to achieve these goals.
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:53 am#7 Good, get good and tired looser troll.
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:59 amIt’s about damn time!
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:05 am#7 Patrick 2 Are you for real? If you hate America get out of our country.
We do not need people like you around.
I am so pride that Senator Feingold is my Senator from Wisconsin. I wish he was running for President. I would of helped him become President.
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:06 amAnd WE must all contact our Republican representatives to make sure they are hearing from more than just some right wingers whispering into their ears…
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:07 amThe Patrick upgrade seems as defective as the original.

and the “charles/michael/jake/patrick1/etc… all the same…
look for that #7 post to appear on some righty blog and spread around as an example of the “hateful left”…
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:22 amI think Patrick2 is a parody.
Hoping anyway….
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:25 amOops, I need to amend my comment at #6:
Get them home my sweetie Feingold & Reid.

I don’t see the quotes you’re referring to but Obama, as much as I like him, is beholden to AIPAC unfortunately. So ultimately they will be calling his shots re: the Middle East.
I love Feingold but he lost my support when he was all for bombing Lebanon because “Israel has the right to defend itself”. But this development is encouraging.
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:34 amWhat is going on I posted something and it did not go through.
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:44 amAs Pelosi makes plans to talk with Syria, the State Dept continues to discourage her from doing so.
Israel floated the idea of talking with Syria themselves, but were quickly told not to by our ADDministration.
Folks, does this put the U.S.A. RIGHT of Israel?
Think about that. Right of Israel.
Impeachment isn’t just a dirty word. If it ever applied to anyone in our government, it applies now.
Investigate. Impeach. Incarcerate.
April 2nd, 2007 at 12:11 pmThe Congress must end the war by Christmas of this year and bring all the troops home > NO exceptions!
April 2nd, 2007 at 12:40 pmI am hoping that this move signals a movement finally towards the end of such a economically crippling war. The war will ends in terms of money because it was framed around the basis of acquiring more money. The genocide in Sudan would have been addressed had the Sudanese been starving upon fields of oil. Economically speaking however; we have failed to make up the difference in lives and cash. As a nation, who now needs to make up for a vast debt and needs to bolster its image, we should vote to focus our efforts on world poverty. The world’s poor according to the Borgen Project are the newest and least exploited emerging market. If we could cultivate this market, we could make money and help people. Keep in mind I am only framing this in economic terms because it seems that is how we as Americans vote.
April 2nd, 2007 at 12:56 pm#14 Patrick 2 is definitely parody and the spamming of all the threads is just as annoying as if it were a real troll.
April 2nd, 2007 at 1:35 pmSince the Sen Dem leadership basically does everything Feingold was saying we should have done two years ago, can we hope for a Bush censure in spring 2008?
April 2nd, 2007 at 1:48 pm“GIVE ‘EM HELL, HARRY!!!!” Truman MUST BE DANCING A JIG IN HIS GRAVE IN CELEBRATION OF CHIMPya BEING BITCH-SLAPPED, THE Bush CREEP WHO ALWAYS INVOKES HIS AND FDR’s NAME AS IF TO IDENTIFY WITH THEM—-THESE TWO LATE GREAT DEMOCRATS WOULD RATHER IDENTIFY WITH A MAGGOT-SWARMING MONTH-OLD DEAD ROTTING HYENA CARCASE THAN WITH THE ODIOUS CHIMPya!!!!
April 2nd, 2007 at 9:49 pmThe Republicans don’t care about the chaos in Iraq, they WANT it. They don’t care about the poor in our own country, they WANT us to be poor. They make SO much money off the war there’s no way they’ll give it up easily. Now, they’re obvious, and have no objective other than securing the pipeline and raking in the fortunes from Iraqi oil and feeding the war. They’re even getting sloppy and say whatever they think we’ll swollow. I am insulted whenever I hear the rhetoric in the speeches because they don’t even try to seem like they care about anything other than their own greed. Like saranwrap, we see through it. We all now know that 911 was allowed by this administration by aiding and abetting it for their own objective, and this criminality continues.. Why, oh why do we allow these criminals to keep getting rich off so much Iraqi and American blood. What #18 said, Investigate, impeach, incarcerate. No one in their position should be allowed to commit such corruption, and they go so far beyond. I ask what have they done right? or What has been done for the good of Americans not tied to a corporation?
