The GOP Syria trip that must not be named.»

Greg Sargent notes that the New York Times won’t even report Bush’s acknowledgment that Republican House members visited Syria. “Instead, the paper only reports Bush’s criticism of Pelosi’s trip.”

Why doesn’t the New York Times mention the fact that Pelosi is tooling around with her fascist friends in a burka?

Our beloved Speaker of the House. You know, Feminist-in-Chief. Just days after the Iranian thugocracy forced the female British soldier to cover her head and appear on TV attacking her own nation, Nancy decided to go to Syria and, instead of showing that She Is Woman and stick up for the female British soldier, she folded like a weak daisy in the rain.

When the American flag is paraded at the Olympics, it is the only flag among all the nations’ flags that does not dip down in front of whichever world leader it is being paraded in front of. America, after all, bows to no one. Except, that is, Nancy Pelosi who, instead of asserting the American ideal of equality (she does, after all, want to re-push the ERA), succumbed to the values of our Syrian enemy and covered her head — admitting she is, in fact, weak.

No word yet if she walked three steps behind her male counterpart.

  2. ForTruth Says:

    Patrick1,

Most foreign women who visit the middle east do take on some of the garb dude.

  3. ForTruth Says:

Damned liberal rag New York Times.

  4. margaret Says:

Patrick-needs-1 thinks there’s something wrong with observing other countries’ customs when visiting those countries.

He’s probably one of those loud, obnoxious Americans who yells at everyone to speak English when he’s in a foreign country. I mean, he can’t even tell the difference between a head scarf and a burka!

  5. Patrick1 Says:

An elected American official should tell the fascist to wipe their ass with that burka..she represents the American people not a the fascist Assad. But unfortunately that would take courage. It is easier to attack American Christians that stand up to Islamo Fascism.

    Pelosi is a disgrace.

  6. bobcat_grad Says:

    Patrick1 -

Just because their tradition isn’t your tradition doesn’t make them wrong and you right.

Neo-Conservatives: Thinking they know what’s best for the world and willing to blow it up to prove it.

  7. ForTruth Says:

Patrick it makes no sense. You are really a scared little pee-pants that can’t stand having a woman in Pelosi’s office, and then get even further creeped out and scared if she wears a head scarf while visiting the Middle East. All the women who visit do that dude.

The whole “be really afraid of the boogyman” thing is working well on you.

  8. Patrick1 Says:

If Pelosi wants to do as the fascists do then let her move to Syria. Otherwise if she is going to represent the United States then represent the United States.

The only reason to have that rag on her head is if it were raining. Like all limo-liberals she is at the heart of it a coward.

  9. bobcat_grad Says:

An elected American official should tell the fascist to wipe their ass with that burka

How would you feel if you heard a Syrian screaming that a Syrian official should tell the American imperialist to wipe their ass with a American flag?

You’d probably not like that so much, would you?

..she represents the American people not a the fascist Assad.

Yes, she does. And she’s over there trying a method called ‘diplomacy.’ Look it up. It may be a foreign concept to you since it doesn’t involve racist name calling and blowing stuff up.

But unfortunately that would take courage.

Courage, eh? Pelosi is hanging out in the Middle East for a few days. That shows courage. Bush on the other hand sneaks in for a few hours and then runs and hides for another 18 months.

It is easier to attack American Christians that stand up to Islamo Fascism.

Who the heck is attacking American Christians? And I’m sure you just forgot to acknowledge American Jews, Muslims, Budhists, Hindus, and even atheists… right?

    Pelosi is a disgrace.

    Kettle. Pot. Black.

  10. RantingTommy Says:

    Patrick, YOU are a fascist.

  11. bobcat_grad Says:

    Patrick -

There are no shades of grey in your world, are there? Just nicely defined blacks and whites. You must feel much more comfortable when you can put everything into one or the other category. Imagine what a scary place this world would be if there were actually complex issues and relationships; you might have to think about long term consequences before acting.

  13. MisterOpus1 Says:

My goodness, Patrick. Such vitriole towards Pelosi. Do you share the same vitriole and hatred towards your fellow Republicans like Reps. Aderholt and Wolf, or Rep. Hobson who’ve also visited Syria with Pelosi? Or how about U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Ellen Sauerbrey? Can we expect your diatribes against these fellow Republicans, as well as the Bush-appointed Baker Iraq Study Group who suggested increasing diplomatic efforts to Syria, just as we are seeing in a bipartisan fashion with Pelosi and Republicans,

or shall we continue seeing your selective memory attack Democrats only?

  14. Patrick1 Says:

I will cut Pelosi some slack for wearing the rag if she had the courage to ask him why he murdered the former prime minister of Lebanon. I won’t hold my breath for that.

  16. Patrick1 Says:

Were the Republican Congressman ass kissing Assad like Pelosi? If so then I condemn them as well.

The Iraq Study Group was a joke.

  17. margaret Says:

Oh Klyde - you’re right of course. They don’t want what we’re feeding them anyway. Like children who want to live on cotton candy and won’t take the real food.

  18. margaret Says:

Weird how some people think that being considerate and diplomatic is weak but that being rude and confrontational is a somehow a sign of strength. Where do you suppose they learn that crap?

  19. Raymond Funamoto Says:

The New York Times(tm) has gone the way of The Washington Post(tm), The Los Angeles Times(tm), TIME(tm) and other MSM outlets in toadying to CHIMPya and Bushland Uber Allies and becoming faithful lapdogs who roll over, ARF! ARF! This is a pity and a scandalous situation—the MSM must take a stand against Monkey Boy CHIMPya and cut him no slack, in fact, must tighten the noose around his scrawny neck and let him know in no uncertain terms that illegal, lawless, unconstitutional behaviour can not and will not be tolerated, and if it is continued, consequences are forthcoming that will not be pleasant–ESPECIALLY for CHIMPya!

  20. Patrick1 Says:

There is a difference in being considerate and diplomatic and being a coward. If you visit a democracy you be considerate and diplomatic. If you visit an Islamo Fascist thug you tell him so.

Exactly. Come on, by now it is evident that Patrick1 is a non-issue.

  22. MisterOpus1 Says:

Were the Republican Congressman ass kissing Assad like Pelosi? If so then I condemn them as well.

Oh I see, so a “kiss” is what separates your condemnation of Republicans doing the exact same diplomatic efforts as Pelosi. Got it.

The Iraq Study Group was a joke.

Then perhaps Bush should not have assigned someone as astute as Baker in the first place. I’m sorry if what they found and suggested is not in line with your twisted neocon world-police view on things, but as for the rest of the majority of Americans and most other countries for that matter, we tend to call it something that might be a bit alien to you:

    “reality”

Strange concept for your elementary thinking skills, I realize, but not to worry. We Democrats and reasonable Republicans will once again clean up the mess you idiots have created. And we might just save a bit more dignity in doing so. Don’t worry - we’re used to the job cleaning up your dung thrown everywhere.

  25. buddynelson Says:

Patrick, I always thought that the troll was only allowed to ask three questions before it had to go back under the bridge. You have like 6 questions or statements up here, on just this topic. Dude get a job, get the hair shaved off your back, file down our teeth, and join the world of the thinking. I have a question for you. Please name all the members of the Republication’s who met with Assad, prior to Speaker Pelosi’s visit?
It might be difficult for you, since trolls are used to asking dumbass questions, rather than answering reasonable ones.

  26. Raven Says:

Hey, if George can walk through the Rose Garden holding hands with a Saudi prince out of respect for another culture, Nancy can wear a kerchief on her head.

  27. Patrick1 Says:

Certainly none of them should have gone to see the butcher Assad. Pelosi ’s ass kissing aside.

  28. artiejoe68 Says:

Congratulations, Patrick1. You succeeded in getting the lefties (myself included) to go for your bait; hook, line & sinker. But remember, the truth will set you free. You can bandy about with insults, name-calling and half-truths but in your mind and everyone who reads your aspersions, there is that haunting little detail called the TRUTH. IE: Republicans went to Syria in the last few days as well and Bush was silent. Pelosi was in Syria, not Iran, so why does she bear the brunt of blame for what Iran has done with the British hostages. How does that make her a “weak daisy in the rain? I suppose Bush is a big, strong manly man in your eyes, right? Are you aware of the sock they stuffed down his pants to enhance his “junk” during the “Mission Accomplished” debacle on 5/1/03? But maybe that’s your problem; You’re really in love with Bush and must take on anyone who takes on your man.

Great job, Patrick1. Just keep standing by your man while he leads both of you OFF A CLIFF….

  29. katieg Says:

Aderholt and Wolf are both on the Appropriations committe, and the Homeland Security and State Department subcommittees respectively. Further, Wolf is from VA-10, home of Loudon County, home of numerous defense contractors.

They’re going to Syria because they’re on subcommittees responsible for funding CIA operations. They’re likely over there trying to cut some deals with Syria to try to determine the needs of the American CIA folks operating in the region.

    That’s my best guess.

  30. MisterOpus1 Says:

Certainly none of them should have gone to see the butcher Assad.

Hmmm, I guess that leaves out a healthy handful of other butchers that Bush has personal relationships worldwide and refuses to break off. Funny how your labelling is not so terribly self-reflective.

    Pelosi ’s ass kissing aside.

Or the rest of the Republicans doing exactly the same thing (kissing gestures absent, of course).

  31. Liberals Heart Terrorists Says:

Who cares what GOP losers went with Traitor Pelosi?!?! The GOP would not send it’s top Republican (that’s the President, folks) to hang out with the enemy. In a damn burka, no less. The woman is a traitor - a goddamn traitor.

  32. artiejoe68 Says:

    Dear Liberals Hears Terrorists:

What label do you place on a man (Bush) who sends men and women, (not you I assume) off to fight a war based on lies, false information and the goal of making contractors wealthy, only to return to find cockroaches, mice and mold in their hospital room while they heal from the amputation of all of their limbs? DOHHHH!

  33. MisterOpus1 Says:

Who cares what GOP losers went with Traitor Pelosi?!?!

Evidently ignorant individuals such as yourself don’t worry about such glaring contradictions with your own party. Nice.

The GOP would not send it’s top Republican (that’s the President, folks) to hang out with the enemy. In a damn burka, no less. The woman is a traitor - a goddamn traitor.

What an asinine response. Now why would Bush send himself to Syria when he has stated flat out to be against any diplomatic roads set forth by his own appointed Iraqi Study Group headed up by the Republican and longtime friend of daddy, James Baker?

Or perhaps more to the point, why would people in his own loyal party break ranks and abuse Bush’s loyalty and go there themselves? It’s obvious that anyone that disagrees with you and your “fearless” leader are branded as “traitors” and aiding terrorists. Seems to me that you should be directing your vitriole more towards your own “traitors” in your own party for doing what our librul “traitor” leader is doing. Why don’t you spew that outrage here, sir, for all to see?

And speaking of traitors within your own party, how do you feel about your Administration for outing a covert CIA officer who’s sole job was to find WMDs in Iraq and Iran? You remember, right? Because she sure could be helping out your claims of Iranian nukes right now had she not been outed. Can you tell me why you support a traitor like Rove deliberately outing one of our operatives in a time of war, and why he still has security clearance?

I’m sorry, you were saying something about “traitors.” Please continue….

  34. hit_escape Says:

I think nine out of ten TeeVee reports I’ve seen so far, have not mentioned the Republicans visiting Syria, but report Bush’s righteous indignation like it was Gospel or GOP talking points.

First off, she’s third in line to the the presidency and doesn’t answer to Bush, so she can do whatever she damn well pleases. Bush and Condi can continue to plug their ears and sing “Na, na, na, na….” as they always do rather than use dimplomacy.

NPR did the same thing this morning. Mention of Pelosi and the administration’s opposition to the trip but no mention of the Repubican’s also on the trip. The GOP noise machine at work.

She is an American HERO after this trip.
