White House ok’d GOP Syria delegation?

From a local Pennsylvania paper, via Greg Sargent:

[T]hough Bush administration officials have been criticizing Pelosi, it’s not clear what role the White House and the U.S. Department of State played when U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts and two other Republican congressmen met with Syrian President Bassar Assad.

Pitts is a Chester County Republican who represents Lancaster County.

Gabe Neville, Pitts’ chief of staff, said Monday the conference between Assad and the three Republicans was intended to be “low profile.”

“It was done in cooperation with the administration,” he said.

“Low profile”? How about SO LITTLE MENTIONED AS TO ESCAPE THE EYES OF OBSERVANT ONLOOKERS READY TO POINT OUT TO THE white house and CHIMPya THE HYPOCRISY OF THEIR CRITICISMS AGAINST SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE Pelosi AND THE DEMOCRATIC DELEGATION? “DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO,” EH, CHIMPya?????

It becomes almost George Kostanza-esque, that whatever the Bush crew and the GOP attack their “enemies” with, are precisely what they themselves do or are guilty of. Attack Pelosi for meeting with Syrian leaders (like the Iraq Survey Group recommends) and you can be sure that the GOP were doing it first.

Check out this 30 year old ad about how nuclear power for Iran is a good idea.

Also, people tend to forget about refining capacity. Iran may export crude oil, but it has to import refined petroleum products, and they are more expensive. They also can’t make money from oil if they are using it all. Nuclear power for Iran makes economic sense.

The depths to which these crooked bastards will stoop are absolutely endless. Whats funny is that no matter what smoke screen they send up, its always beaten down with fact. Unfortunately once they make their preemptive strike with misinformation that sticks in the minds of the public. When the truth comes out later, John Q is looking for the latest edition of Idol and could care less.
