Zooey, I believe Wal-Mart is stupid. I’m surprised nothing has been said on this site about it yet…
It seems that Wal-Mart has been spying on it’s shareholders, employees, and critics. To spy on someone that has simply exercised their right to free speech is unconscionable.
Wal-Mart is Spying on It’s Critics?
Wal-Mart seems to be taking on some of the characteristics of China, when many had hoped that Wal-Mart would have a positive (sic) effect on the Chinese…
I agree that Wal-Mart is the evil empire, and they deserve criticism for their methods. I really don’t think they got where they are by being stupid. They’re showing the same type of arrogance as this administration by pulling the crap you mentioned.
I did live in New Orleans for a time, but my heritage is Nova Scotia.
I have written many, many articles in regard Wal-Mart, was one of the first to point-out the danger they posed to our National Security, and was writing and posting about Wal-Mart before WakeUpWalMart.com even came into existence.
Wal-Mart poses a danger to this country much greater than most of us (Americans) understand. Read the Wal-Mart section of my Blog, and yes, they are acting just like the rest of the @#$$*&^ that are running our country into the ground!
I agree with you Dixie Blood, they do not deserve praise for doing what they are supposed to do in the first place. That is crap. Speaking as a wife to a pharmacist and as a pre-pharmacy student.
and yes, they are acting just like the rest of the @#$$*&^ that are running our country into the ground!

From everything I’ve read you are absolutely correct. And obviously their sales went down from all the bad publicity they received for their arrogant policies. Because now they have commercials talking about how well they treat their employees, sure.
My guess is that they are agreeing to stock the emergency contraception either because it will make them more money or they know law suits were coming their way.
this morning’s AirAmerica sam-sub was reading a story about how wal-mart is changing it’s attitude and catering more to the democratic “base” …
yes, spudgeboy, i think they do see the writing on the wal…
Thing is, they will take the profits and give to Republicans, regardless of whose money it is. Wal-Mart and other corporations have watched their wet dream, and America completely controlled by the big bidness, falter under the Bush/Cheney/Rove fiasco. But they haven’t given it up, any more than GM or Dyncorp or Haliiburton or — on and on and on. Spending money at Walmart is still money poorly spent, no matter what their current political stance is.
Wal-Mart, the Democrats’ New Friend
By Jeffrey H. Birnbaum

Wal-Mart has taken its lumps lately, especially from the Democratic Party over its treatment of employees. So the company has been courting the new majority on Capitol Hill by doing a lot of the standard stuff: hiring Democratic executives and donating more to the campaigns of Democratic candidates. Its political action committee has given 49 percent of its funds to Democrats this year, up from 32 percent in last year’s election.
In light of comment #15, I should revise my earlier comment to amend “republican” to “pro business politician”. There are, unfortunately, enough of those in the Democratic leadership to keep the domination dreams of the corporations alive.
Now if they would just go back to sellin’ my Meth fixins I would be good to go…..Hey, this is the place I got my Totenkopf Death’s Head T-Shirt. This place has it all man!
Walmart noticed that the left isn’t shopping there, because it’s affecting sales revenue. They aren’t sucking up nearly hard enough to get my business back.
Wally world is never getting another dime of mine either. Been boycotting them for several year’s, use to work for them.Yikes!
The pressure and exposing all their faults is having a big effect. I would like to see them shut down, probably not possible but still I would like to see it..It’s a terrible dump on our econemy and foreign debt to have all their junk shipped in from china, korea and other foreign countries and no equal trade in place…Cheap good’s and low pay in becoming a large problem for our country..Right after the dictatorship, that is…Blessings
WalMart is simply following the money – profits in their case. So I am not about to change my opinion of them.
The issue is that this should never have become a political matter. Women’s health issues, related matters and products have always been held submissive to the “ranted permission” of those in power.
Men’s health issues as they relate to sex have never been under such governance.
Wal-Mart sure is sucking up to the left. Do you think they can see the writing on the Wal.
April 4th, 2007 at 7:45 pmGood for Wal-Mart.
I think you’re right, Spudge. The big honchos at Wal-Mart are a lot of things, but they are not stupid.
April 4th, 2007 at 7:52 pmThey’re going where they perceive the money to be. Which is fine with me. Sometimes I don’t care why good is done, as long as good is done.
April 4th, 2007 at 7:57 pmHoo, hoo – That will get the bible thumpers riled.
April 4th, 2007 at 7:58 pmBet Newt will have something good to say about this too.
Wow, Mal-Wart finally agreeing to follow the laws governing pharmacies! What do they want? A cookie? For obeying the law? Ph*ck Mal-Wart!!
DO NOT SPEND A DIME AT THE HOME OF FACISM!!!
April 4th, 2007 at 8:01 pmBet Newt will have something good to say about this too.

But last week Wal-Mart’s outreach got personal as well — it’s now doing favors for the families of powerful Democratic senators.
