Drudge lies? I’m SHOCKED!
April 4th, 2007 at 11:26 amI quit going to the Drudge Report after he lost all credibility by reporting that the Foley emails were a joke. He thanks the haters for his hit numbers, and I used to give him several a day. Ignore Drudge, and he will go away. By accessing what he has to say, we give him power.

April 4th, 2007 at 11:36 amummmm, Alexa ranks percentages not raw page views. So while the post above is right that drudge’s page gets extra hits from reloads, you can’t really judge his popularity based on Alexa because as more people use the internet percentage of web traffic will always go down.

if so, the fact that he’s using it now doesn’t affect the relative indication his site is more popular

so, if he has always been using that script then this critisism is incorrect
find out if the script is new or has always been in use, if always in use a retraction is indicated

Kind of like Faux news, their ratings are so high because it’s generally the Trailer Trash right wingers who spend so much time watching TV any way, that the news was “created” just for their view points. Leaving the facts out of the story, then letting users decide is idiotic.

April 4th, 2007 at 1:13 pmWhile I in no way intend to defend drudge, the claim here is a little flawed as it takes only one data point (Alexa) and derives a conclusion. Alexa isn’t the be-all end-all of traffic analysis tools.
For example my own site is up approximately 30% in terms of visitors and page views so far this year but Alexa shows my numbers over the last 6 months to be essentially flat.
If you look at some other similar services (the only free one that comes to mind is compete.com, but there are several pay services likt HitWise and comScore and Nielsen NetRankings) you’ll probably see a differing picture on each.

Drudge is gay. I would have, maybe, a little respect for him if just came out and said it, like a ‘real’ man. He’s afraid it would kill his already sagging ratings. How can such a “conservative” be gay? LOL. I don’t hate or have a problem with gays. I do not seek out gay activities. Gays do not bother me and I am not afraid of them.
I would rather Drudge just admit it as reality (oh no, not reality!) and we can all go on with our lives. The haters would hate and those of us like me would shrug, “who cares”. I still wouldn’t listen but maybe 5, 10, 15 minutes per Sunday, MAYBE. People just can’t take the heat, plain and simple. Drudge and others know that and there is nothing wrong with that. If you go into politics, expect the heat, if you cant take it, get out. Drudge is doing a service by showing us a side and news others do not. He may jump the gun but even if shown wrong then its off his page. Dan Rather anyone? Chris Mattews? Come on these guys are just as “bad” if you want to call it that, but it is just good politics and most of it is true, and THATS the part that really bugs you, the truth.
