Today, Fox News’s Your World with Neil Cavuto did a segment devoted to making the case that “Albert Gore is a very dangerous man.” Energy CEO Bob Murray said, “Albert Gore is the shaman of global goofiness, and we’d better not be listening to him.” He added that the “science is [still] out” on global warming.

Murray, a major GOP contributor, was one of the members of Vice President Dick Cheney’s energy task force.
So global warming exists Bob?
And wtf is that picture next to him?
April 5th, 2007 at 7:19 pmBob Murray = CUA!! (Completely Useless American!!)
April 5th, 2007 at 7:20 pmOle Bob Murray has absolutely no conflict saying that, does he?
Prove the science is still out.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:21 pmYeah, he’s credible all right.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:21 pmPropagandist interviewing propagandist, and calling it news.
This plane is truly a stop along the way to higher developed planes. We, as a human race, are pretty moronic.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:21 pmThe guy’s a parody of a fat, white and rich oil tycoon. Why doesn’t faux just bring out the ghost of ken lay.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:22 pmWhat does environment mean?
April 5th, 2007 at 7:22 pmBob Murray SHOULD BE BURNT TO CHARCOAL AND USED TO HEAT A NEEDY HOUSEHOLD—THAT WAY HE’D SERVE A USEFUL PURPOSE IN WARMING, NOT QUITE “GLOBAL WARMING,” EH, FRANKENCheney ASS-KISSER Murray?
April 5th, 2007 at 7:22 pmActually he’s not a rich oil tycoon; he’s a rich coal tycoon.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:26 pmOf course Bob Murray doesn’t like Al Gore. He will be one of the hardest hit if Green laws are passed. He is the CEO of a large Coal company.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:26 pmAnd wtf is that picture next to him?
Comment by ForTruth
Glacier melt.
Looks kinda nasty, doesn’t it?
April 5th, 2007 at 7:27 pmThe Ministry of Truth double declares that from this forward time on this non subject be called Area Un-Cooling. Make a note of that post haste.
BigB
April 5th, 2007 at 7:29 pmYes, Bob, Al Gore is more of a danger to your short-term profits than global warming. So what? Are we supposed to shed a tear for you?
April 5th, 2007 at 7:29 pmRepublican talking point: “Truth is dangerous.”
Time to make truth illegal. All lawbreakers will be sent to Gitmo and waterboarded.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:36 pmIn a related announcment, energy CEO Bob Murray revealed plans to initiate strip mining of the vice president’s chest following mr. cheney’s departure from office in January 2009. Mr. Murray added, “The reserves of hardened, black coal available from this source are expected to put this country well on its way to energy independence.”
April 5th, 2007 at 7:43 pmCaption contest:
“Ohhh you don’t say…”strong>
April 5th, 2007 at 7:44 pmAl Gore is dangerous? What has he done? Invade a sovereign nation and occupy it for years? Abduct, incarcerate and torture innocent people and hold them for years without a trial? Cause the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people? Destroy the principles that the United States was founded on? Excuse me, but you must have him confused with someone else.
April 5th, 2007 at 7:48 pmSounds to me bottom-feeders like Bob ‘coal don’t pollute, people pollute’ Murray is starting to panic. As for Fox News, they just don’t know any better. What makes Murray and Fox News kindred spirits is that neither one of them really cares. It’s all about money and business.
April 5th, 2007 at 8:23 pm“Albert Gore is a very dangerous man….. to my wallet. â€
April 5th, 2007 at 8:24 pm“… the Shaman of Global Goofiness………
April 5th, 2007 at 8:26 pmNow, I really, really like that one….
if it’s alright with you folks here, I’m going to run with this one…
Protest costumes, Posters, T-shirts, bumper stickers, and oh yeah, the sweats and the fasts, too………………..
This is going to a wild summer…………..
Cavuto is a Fascist- hyper pro business, hyper patriotic, anti worker… all the symptoms are there- yup, he’s a Fascist. Oh yeah and a joke.
without Fox news TP would have very little to post to the site.
April 5th, 2007 at 8:51 pmIf you want to see how the right wing thinks about global warming, just watch Inhofe question Gore on CSPAN. I’m watching a rerun of it now.
Inhofe asks the questions, but he doesn’t want to hear the answers.
April 5th, 2007 at 9:05 pmCavuto is…hyper patriotic
Comment by seth #21
Oh no, beg to differ there seth…
…Cavuto is a TREASONOUS inbred criminal Bushite…
…he worships at the pleasure of his gods Bushiva and L’il Dick…
…supporting their Constitutional usurpation, and unAmerican behaviors…
…neither Cavuto nor ANY Bushite conned’self-serving scum is “patriotic” in ANY sense…
April 5th, 2007 at 9:08 pmLOL who cares what a jerk thinks of Al Gore on FOX news network.
April 5th, 2007 at 9:12 pmOT – Democrats called for an investigation Thursday into whether President Bush acted illegally in appointing Sam Fox ambassador to Belgium.
April 5th, 2007 at 9:19 pmNo global warmimg, see? Now give me your money!
April 5th, 2007 at 9:25 pmCavuto is a Fascist- hyper pro business, hyper patriotic, anti worker… all the symptoms are there- yup, he’s a Fascist. Oh yeah and a joke
I disagree, he is only pro-BIG business. Mom and pop can shut the h$ll up.
April 5th, 2007 at 9:58 pm…and I quote Mr. Dan Fogelberg (these lyrics were written in 1989, and still ring true today. You da man, Dan!):
In the overcrowded cities
April 5th, 2007 at 10:21 pmWhere the nights are bright as day
You spend your weekly paycheck
And turn your eyes away
From the crisis we’ve created
With our self-indulgent ways
Living like there’s no tomorrow
Well that just might be the case.
Now they’re tearing down the forests
In the jungles of Brazil
Without a second thought about
The species that they kill
But extinction is forever
And still the forests fall
And push it ever closer to
Extinction for us all.
Chorus
But you’re so blind to the truth
Blind to the truth
And you can’t see nothin’
You’re so blind to the truth
Blind to the truth
But the judgement day is coming.
Now the politicians bicker
On the early evening news
Pledging their allegiance
To whoever they can use
And the corporate bosses snicker
As they watch the profits soar
They don’t care what they make next month
Just as long as it is more.
The take our farms and marshlands
Drive nature to the wall
Just so they can build another
Goddamn shopping mall
And it doesn’t seem to matter
If we cannot see the stars
Just as long as they can keep
On building obsolescent cars
‘Cause they’re so…
(Repeat chorus)
Now you cannot drink the water
And you cannot breathe the air
The sky is ripping open and you
Still don’t seem to care
The soil is tired and toxic
And unable to provide
The clock is running out and
There is nowhere left to hid.
Now there’s laws that we must live by
And they’re not the laws of man
Can’t you see the shadow
That moves across this land
The future is upon us
And there’s so much we must do
And you know I can’t ignore it
And, my friend, neither can you
I have always liked Fogelberg. Great lyrics.
April 5th, 2007 at 11:01 pmWell, at least they stopped denying global warming.
April 5th, 2007 at 11:49 pmNeil Cavuto traded in those 80’s style shoulder pads for knee pads a long time ago. Although he still wears shoulder pads on Fox.
Bob Murray, damn, that dude must eat at the same “all you can eat buffet” as Roger Ailes. Kind of hard to take an overweight neocon seriously these days.
April 6th, 2007 at 8:04 amWhere can I buy stock in this “Energy” company? Why not just say what company he’s a CEO for? This is symptomatic of the current administration and Fox news, just euphemistically describe the subject to fit the meme. Pure propaganda at work. Stooges and tools the lot of them all.
April 6th, 2007 at 9:13 amit’s scary to see such people running the big corporations…
April 6th, 2007 at 1:37 pmNot that I would suspect many of you would care about Southern Illinois, but since I live in the overly economically depressed area I feel you should know that yes, Bob Murray is truly a crazy coal tycoon who really only cares about his money. However, that crazy coal tycoon supplies over 25% of the jobs in Southern Illinois and if all of this Global Warming legislation were to pass Southern Illinois would more than likely become the poster child of the welfare community as we know it.
April 6th, 2007 at 2:06 pm[...] Gore-Right [...]
April 7th, 2007 at 5:39 pmIsn’t it funny how people throw around words like “elitists” to try and rouse all us common folk to buy whatever it is they’re selling?
Fortunately, I’ve held on to my ability to actually question things – to investigate and think for myself – instead of letting blowhards manipulate me.
I am amazed, though, at how people – who I’m sure are good, decent and intelligent folks – can be so easily swayed to reject hard and fast scientific evidence, and instead mindlessly get behind self-serving fakes like as Bob Murray.
Sure, you kinda expect the “cigarettes don’t cause cancer” mentality of big tobacco to be the modus operandi for big oil and coal when it comes to their public denial of the true world-threatening effects of global warming.
But what’s REALLY hard to swallow is Big Bob pretending that his is a “fight for the common man”, when his very own company leads the way in safety violations and infractions that have lead to more coal mining mishaps than the national average.
Yep, I choose to keep my eyes open. There’s already enough good folks out there all too willing to blindly ignore the facts and wave the banners of false prophets.
[Here's my "Thank You" to Bob Murray - and his "insightful" reply:]
April 18th, 2007 at 2:25 amWhat amazes me is how all the comments presume that foxnews is anti everything good and decent and that a CEO is evil.
How many of you brilliant people have created any jobs for anyone or even hold a real job.
What makes someone evil for holding a different opinion about “science”. Cannot stand up to the debate?
Diagree with greenies and you are the same as a child molester?
How irrational and childish.
