Showdown on immigration: Geraldo v. O’Reilly.

Bill O’Reilly loses the argument and then loses his temper. Oliver Willis has the details. Watch it:

Bill’s gonna burst an artery if he isn’t careful.

    Let’s hope he isn’t careful.

  2. radzikowski says:

    Wow.
Inasmuch as I hate to admit it…Go Geraldo. Bill just never gets it.

  3. George says:

Is he in ratings trouble or something? What a joke.

    Someone deport O’Reilly to Insaneville.

  4. Jay Randal says:

LOL Geraldo and O’Reilly fighting each other? Oh boy the GOPers are eating each other now.

  5. radzikowski says:

    #1 I agree…and as we know careful isn’t in his nature…~~fingers crossed~~

  6. mongo says:

    This had to be staged.

Ratings must be in the tank; murdoch has told o’lielly to just go with it in his interviews–don’t hold back, bill, get the juices flowing.

His viewership eats this shit up.

  7. s says:

Bill, in my view, way way way down… gets it. That’s why he’s so evil. He knows he lost the argument ….why?…because he gets it. He wasn’t able to stoke the witch hunt bonfire under all immigrants. He is absolutely screwed to the wall bad. Scared, dishonest, and bad

  8. Apple says:

W.O.W.! That’s real. Geraldo come back to the light.

  9. I WORFEUS says:

    :|

    And they call us moonbats?

  10. Enuff Already!! says:

Cmon you cant believe that this wasn’t planned.

Geraldo has been Fauxed for years. They more than likely went out, had plenty of drinks. sexually harassed a few of their studio producers, and then gave away troop positions to the hookers they picked up.

    A joke both of them

Lord, don’t say “go geraldo”; these two yoyos are cut from the same bolt of cloth.

A good thing is that they’re now yelling at each other; one can only hope for simultaneous on-air heart attacks.

  12. I WORFEUS says:

When he gets mad like that, and pounds his fist, Oreilly makes a pretty good Hitler impersonater.

  13. Saywho says:

    No way.

Oreilly’s not that good of an actor.

What you just witness was that reich wing rage we all know is lying just beneath the surface.

We should take them all, Geraldo too, toss em in a cage and let them kill each other.

They could put it on Pay Per View.

  17. Snowball says:

Two gutless cowardly corporate pre$$titutes with no principles going after each other for political theater. Who cares? Geraldo was hired by Fox for the same reason that Alan Colmes was, to be ritual hate objects like Emmanuel Goldstein in Orwell’s 1984.

  18. JPV says:

    Watch a couple of tools.

  19. Blackacre says:

Look at Billy trying to get higher ratings by acting like a tough guy. He could have edited out this exchange since he doesn’t do a live show. But he wants people to see how much of a “warrrior” he is. What a bozo.

  20. I WORFEUS says:

I don’t see how it could have been an act.

Geraldo looked a little scared there for a moment or too.

He likewise is not that good of an actor.

And if you’ve ever seen Geraldo act, you’d know that he can’t.

  21. I WORFEUS says:

I’m still laughing, and mopping up the soda that shot out of my nose when I first watched it.

Oreilly looked like he was gonna lay an egg, LMAO

  22. JMR says:

Wow, Olbermann will have a field day with that clip. Someone at Fox better start cc’ing (carbon copying) Geraldo the talking points before Bill-O breaks blows a gasket.

  23. brie says:

See, I get really frustrated with the state of the world, Bush’s admin, and women’s rights a lot. I tend to think of myself as an angry liberal. But after watching that, I know I just don’t have access to the unbridled rage that drives O’Reilly and people like him.

That video was more alarming than anything else. How those two think shouting at each other constitutes a political debate is beyond me.

  24. Fran says:

    Acting 101.

Total success. We’re talking about it.

  25. gorn by any other name says:

“You want anarchy! You want open border anarchy! That’s what you want!”

This from a man whose behavior and show are the very definition of anarchy.

I haven’t seen that kind of beyond control screaming since my kids were in diapers.

Of course, if your diaper is filled with the O’Rielly factor, you have a good reason to scream.

  26. Saywho says:

Geraldo was a boxer and would mess the ‘drunk’ O’Reilly up with no problem. This was an act! By the way people on fox are actors since I am aware of no actual journalism on that station!

  27. radzikowski says:

I’m sorry mondo—not so much “go geraldo” but that he was bringing up the fact that BO missed the point.

  28. goehl says:

This temper fit has racist fool written all over it. Why else would one get so irate over this topic?

  29. hadenough says:

There’s gonna be some hot makeup sex going on there.

  30. JPark says:

#20 I agree. O’Reilly isn’t smart enough to be a good actor. He is all emotion.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the state of american journalism.

  33. JPV says:

    Comment by brie — April 5, 2007

Yeah. When facts can’t support your bias, the last resort is bullying.

  34. radzikowski says:

…And I’m sure it was staged but as I posted on Oliver Willis:

“BO is not insane. He is insensitive. The travesty is that BO abused the forum. He totally missed the point. The problem of drunk driving is independent of citizenship. My sister was killed by a drunk driver in 1997. I am incensed and insulted that he would trivialize this tragedy. He used the thread to make HIS point, and thanks to modern video technology his totally missing the point and rantings will go down in infamy.”

Just so you know. I am sick and tired of this faux news. I have seen my share of tragedy and they are the type of “news” that glorifies it in such a fake way.

  35. radzikowski says:

    oops—mongo (spelling not my suit)

  36. JPV says:

I can’t figure out why Bill is so against illegal immigrants anyway.

Bush seems to want to welcome them here, in order to give his corporate owners/donors cheap labor. Why is O’Reilly going against the standard GOP talking points?

  37. Saywho says:

The part of Geraldo was played by Jake and the part of O’Reilly was played by Patrick1 for your amusement!

  38. JPark says:

#27 Hey, I say go Geraldo. He is right. O’Reilly only likes lily-white drunks.

  39. radzikowski says:

p.s. This clip has “our ratings are slipping so juice it up” written all over it…

  40. Rocks911 says:

Billo is destined for the dust heap of history. I can see him in the not too distant future in some shady bar bald headed and bleary eyed talking about who he used to be and getting his ass kicked by an “illegal” who remembers what a self-serving repugnant prick he is.

Screw you old man your time has passed.
    Dubya’s time has passed.
    Cheney’s time has passed.
    Rumsfeld’s time has certainly passed

To hell with all these old men.

  41. Sean says:

Notice how Bill-O handles Geraldo. “You want anarchy”. This was not staged. Bill-O’s mind is labelling Geraldo as the enemy so he can conjure up rage. It’s a subconscious thing.

If it wasn’t clear before, now it is certainly clear how full of rage Bill-O’s mind is. There were times when I thought Bill-O was purposely doing immoral things to endorse the Republican party. With this video, I now see that it is subconscious for Bill-O. He doesn’t see himself.

I don’t see how it could have been an act.

Geraldo looked a little scared there for a moment or too.

He likewise is not that good of an actor.

And if you’ve ever seen Geraldo act, you’d know that he can’t.

    Comment by I WORFEUS — April 5, 2007 @ 10:18 pm

Geraldo had a fearful look on his face because he knew that he was wrong. One, if you’re an illegal immigrant, you must be deported. Two, if you’re an illegal immigrant that commits a misdemeanor/felony, you should be banned from ever being approved to enter our country. This illegal immigrant constantly broke the law, and the Virginia Beach Mayor and Police Chief decided not to uphold the law. Geraldo needs to cease supporting illegal immigrants. I’m a brown skinned individual, but I do not support crime within the ghettos and hip-hop.

  43. I WORFEUS says:

    This was an act! !

    Comment by Saywho — April 5, 2007 @ 10:21 pm

I don’t think so. If it was then they’ve got a great career waiting for them.

What that looked like to me, was rage. The pure rage of a reich wing coming apart.

Its all starting to fall apart now, and Bill Oreilly is under seige from every corner. It must be getting hard for him to be the laughing stock of the planet, and I think Bill O is cracking up.

I predict he’ll be in the looney bin inside of 24 months.

  44. Rocks911 says:

Leave it to Daryll for the retard perspective.

  45. Rocks911 says:

    Daryll,
was; “I’m a brown skinned individual, but I do not support crime within the ghettos and hip-hop.” supposed to make sense?

  46. Daryll says:

I’m sorry mondo—not so much “go geraldo” but that he was bringing up the fact that BO missed the point.

    Comment by radzikowski — April 5, 2007 @ 10:22 pm

Mr. O’Reilly didn’t miss the point. What he was trying to explain is that an illegal immigrant should be deported if he/she is charged with a misdemeanor/felony. Geraldo constantly supports illegal immigration. Good grief, the illegal immigrant killed a civilian and hasn’t been encarcerated nor has he been deported. How about you stop being so liberal and think outside of the box.

  47. Saywho says:

    Comment by I WORFEUS — April 5, 2007 @ 10:30 pm
Yes I’m assuming however it is a fact that that show is edited BIG TIME! If it went that way they would have cut all that out. Simply some FUD.

  48. Marie says:

WOW! I didn’t think I could ever support Geraldo, but he was right and he stood his ground against the big ignoramus.
Bill-o was making a specious argument to make his case against illegal immigrants and Geraldo told him as much.
If it had gone a little longer maybe Olielly would have blown a gasket right there on TV. People always argue the loudest when they know they are wrong but can’t admit it.

  49. I WORFEUS says:

Geraldo had a fearful look on his face because he knew that he was wrong.

    Comment by Daryll — April 5, 2007 @ 10:28 pm

I didn’t say one way or the other Daryll. But since you bring it up, I don’t believe in open borders at a time when foriegners are coming here to kill us. I think its stupid.

But whats funny, is watching the two go at it. Oreilly is insane. Clearly insane.

Thanks to him the days of the image of the calm cool conservatives is gone.

That looked like a cross between an old war film of Hitler and the Three Stooges.

  50. JPark says:

#44 We should be appreciative of Daryll for coming by and giving the moron prospective. Now we have a well rounded appreciation of the issue.

  52. Rocks911 says:

    Hey retard,

“What he was trying to explain is that an illegal immigrant should be deported if he/she is charged with a misdemeanor/felony.

What would that accomplish, he would be back over the border within the week.

It seems like your beloved Conserv666atives would had solved the imigration issue during the six years that they ran EVERYTHING. As much pissing and moaning as they do you’d figure they would have done something other than give it lip service for lunatics like you while they controlled government, but in the end that’s all the Conserv666atives are good for, giving lip service to supposed problems to placate lunatics like you.

  53. I WORFEUS says:

And yes guys, I know my no open borders position makes me unpopular, but thats how I see it. I don’t think it does Mexico any good to allow unfettered immagration to the US. I think all it does is encourage them to never do anything to improve the quality of life in their own country.

My parents came to this country as immigrants, and they were neither wealthy or connected. They came through Ellis Island like everyone else back then, and did it legal.

I don’t see where there is any argument for letting the Mexicans migrate here without going through the proper channels, like anyone else.

    :0

    OMG.

    I’m agreeing with Oreilly!

Trust me, you’ll gain the same type of anger for illegal aliens. They get away with too many things. Also, they’re trying to force their language on true Americans.

  55. Saywho says:

Also Daryll’s point is the most logical. Geraldo is biased since he is Latino. I agree that aliens need to be deported and aliens that enter and drive drunk should be punished more harshly then US citizens that commit the same offence. The act here allows focus to shift from the Mexican border race riot that is coming shortly!

  56. Rocks911 says:

    Daryll,

No, the sentence doesn’t make sense. You don’t support crime within the hip-hop? In what world does that make sense?

  57. radzikowski says:

Good point #46. A person like this should be deported. Like Bill he missed a point—that of being here and being a good citizen—-even a citizen wannabe. I still think those 2 guys were talking about 2 different things. Sorry, when it comes to drunk drivers I find no excuse.

  58. JPark says:

You mean the Indians are going to have to learn Spanish now?

  60. Rocks911 says:

    Daryll,

“they” are forcing their language on American Indians? Who knew?

  61. I WORFEUS says:

#54 Wow, I had no clue the Spanish language was a threat to the US.

    Comment by JPark — April 5, 2007 @ 10:43 pm

Its not. Most Europeans are bi-lingual, yet here in the US we prefer to remain dumb. Teaching our young kids spanish and english would make them smarter and would open the world of Latin to them, which is a great gift to give any child.

  62. Daryll says:

And yes guys, I know my no open borders position makes me unpopular, but thats how I see it. I don’t think it does Mexico any good to allow unfettered immagration to the US. I think all it does is encourage them to never do anything to improve the quality of life in their own country.

    Comment by I WORFEUS — April 5, 2007 @ 10:41 pm

That’s the big issue. They don’t utilize the proper channels to receive temporary access into our country. Most have a 3rd grade education and they know that their visa application would be denied because they lack job skills. If they would put the bottle down and apply themselves, maybe Mexico wouldn’t be such a bad place.

  63. I WORFEUS says:

I think what we need is a “generous” immigration policy with Mexico, but there must be a policy. Opening our borders is insane.

If our real fear is Al Quaida getting the right people in to do something, then permitting open borders with Mexico, or Canada for that matter, is just asking to get hit.

Al Quaida would not have to sneak into the US. They’d just have to sneak into Mexico.

And how hard can that be?

  64. I WORFEUS says:

    Daryll.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking we’re on the same page.

  65. Daryll says:

    Daryll,

No, the sentence doesn’t make sense. You don’t support crime within the hip-hop? In what world does that make sense?

  67. Bluedahlia says:

    Daryll,
If you were a true “American” you would be speaking Lakota or one of the other of MANY Native American languages.

  68. JPark says:

Daryll, you moron. Most people who have EVER emigrated to the US have a steep learning curve. Your great-grandparents as well. That is what that huddled masses thingy is all about. Jack ass.

  69. Rocks911 says:

    Daryll,

You are one bigoted piece of shit, unworthy of my ire. Piss off.

  71. Zooey says:

    Comment by Daryll

Identify yourself as such, it makes no difference. Your sentence still makes no sense.

  72. alp3 says:

  73. DM says:

#54 – Immigration laws were built to discriminate the Irish… the Italians… the Chinese… the Africans… the Mexicans… the only incumbent that didn’t try to oppress the immigrant in this big happy f*cking melting pot was the Indian, and it’s only because one look at the white people who landed told them that wihtout serious assistance they weren’t even going to survive their first winter.

America has ALWAYS treated immigrants in a barbaric fashion, and the immigrants have ALWAYS shown themselves to be invaluable beyond expectation, and have made the greatest improvements in our country, in spite of their treatment.

It is the height of irony that someone named O’REILLY has no appreciation for the history of American immigration.

  74. Jim says:

I think this argument really demonstrates the racial aspects of the immigration debate. Two conservatives that normally agree on everything, but of different ethnicities suddenly go at each other. O’Reilly is looking at this from the prospective of the brown people being evil. Rivera is one of those brown people and is starting to get the idea that his buddy is a racist.

Or, in other words, Rivera may be a pathetic-me too-opportunist, but he’s also from la raza. He sure as hell isn’t going to let O’Reilly get away with this crap.

O’Reilly is, as expected, a racist.

There’s nothing wrong with educating yourself about other foreign languages. But I do have a problem with learning a language so I can conversate with you in our country. This is America. They must learn to speak our standard language (English). I haven’t seen asians, arabs or europeans trying to impose their language upon us. Why must it be those from Central and South America. Also, they are not Latinos!!!!!!

Actual boarder security would change quite a lot. Hard drugs would be harder to get. Boarder town violence would go down. Aliens would not get abused by those that would violate the law and hire them.
Instead we are going to have a 10 lane highway up the center of the country! How many ways and times can I say we have GIANT PROBLEMS? Then these to appear to have a tiff and we stress about that rather than the big picture!

  79. Immigration2008DotCom says:

In a recent screed, Jerry Rivers said we should allow Mexicans to resettle their former territory, simply because the Southwest is their former territory. I’d say he’s a crazy reconquista, but he’s not even a Chicano. He’s just nuts.

  80. Bluedahlia says:

The government is never going to shut America’s borders. One of my good friends owns her own business and she told me that she hires a lot of illegals (not because they are illegals, because they do the best work) And no, the average pay is 35k a year. Not really all that cheap.

Here is the kicker. She pays taxes on all of them. She doesn’t pay them under the table even though it would be a lot easier. Has the gov’t come after them as a business? NO. have they come after any employees and deported them? NO. NOTHING. They send her a letter every year for each employee saying they have no record of this person, but they don’t gove the money back. Where do you think it goes? She calls it the “ghost” account. lol

I’m not a bigot nor am I a racist. I’m just giving you the facts. They have a brain and mouth. They can protest about their (Mexico) education system. Instead of resolving issues within their own country, they believe the only resolution is to illegally migrate into our territory. Anway, I have to go, my wife is calling me. Everyone have a blessed night. If I were you, I would give my life to Christ.

#86 – Well, it DOES effect me.

I live in the city, and you don’t know how many store owners I try to be a customer for, but they never understand what I’m saying, or they don’t know what I’m saying.

It only wastes an average of 2 – 3 minutes of my day (sometimes, it takes 2 minutes just to say two separate statements, or requests) however when you add up all those times… yeah, a lot of time has been wasted.

One time at a rest stop on the highway, it took me 10 minutes to have the cashier understand that what I had on the side was a pickle. She had to call the other cashier over, and then the boss. It was a nightmare. At LEAST learn the English words of the food you’re selling!

The worst is if I’m ordering take-out via the phone. The phone makes their accent for me, and my English for them, much harder to understand.

And that DOES make me worry about if they drive. Can they read road signs? Maybe they memorize the shape and colors, but I have no way of knowing.

    Luke 18:
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Geraldo, a total sell out and Lennon, who was remarkable for many reasons, chief among them, his integrity.

    Anonymous by Choice,

Sure, that’s annoying, but it’s always been that way in this country. When the American Revolution happened, most of Pennsylvania was German-speaking territory. A lot of communities in the southwest have always been majority Spanish-speaking. And non-English-speaking immigrant communities have existed in our large cities since the mid-1800s, if not before.

You say they should learn English – they are learning English. Immigrants today learn English faster and better than ever before – 98% of the children of immigrants grow up speaking perfect English. That certainly wasn’t the case 80 or 100 years ago. Back then, they used to mostly live in segregated, insular neighborhoods. They’d use their native language at work, at home, out in public, and when they went shopping. Today, that doesn’t exist any more, and they’re out there trying to get by with limited English in mainstream American society.

That’s the way it is in the country.

God will sort out the bodies based on sin here on Earth we have to worry about punishing criminals.

So if it is correct to deport an alien he may argue that drunk driving is the only offence. If the driver is an Alien then what are his driving credentials? Does he have points? Does he have a record? Is he aware of driving laws? Does he know that ignorance of the law is no excuse? What about a victim of this alien. How can restitution ever be made?
Citizens w/ no license that commit a felony while driving face mandatory jail time since. They will need a lawyer and will need plenty of money. Here you can fill in the rest but remember your opinion is not mine but like you I want to see Bush GO!

  189. TerrytheTurtle says:

Ok, I’m going to poke my neck out here (TerrytheTurtle pokes his head out).

The relationship between the Bush and Clinton (and Gore – yes he backed it too) NAFTA bill, driven into Mexican law to the direct benefit of the corporate communities on both sides of the border, has not been explored anywhere on this blog.

NAFTA destroyed the Mexican corn farming industry, driving a lot of family farmers out of business as the big US firms dumped corn in Mexico. What did these farmers do? They returned the favor and came north, the change in demographics of farm workers post NAFTA is staggering – now over 80% of all US farm workers are from south of the border and over half of them are undocumented – who is exploiting who? The story of illegal immigration in the US is complex and basically everyone has been benefitting – the Mexican companies, the US agribusiness companies and the immigrants have done what they were basically forced to do…

  190. JPark says:

#189 NAFTA is good for one type of person. The rich American corporatist. Clinton can burn for that.

  191. TerrytheTurtle says:

And by singling out the immigrants and leaving the corporations who have exploited them at the expense of ordinary US farmers makes for more disgusting corporate hypocrisy..

You people are going to bring down the wrath of the bible thumpers and they’re going to be babbling about Christ like they’re best friends and we insulted him. And Jesus is walking around asking himself where it all went wrong. “What part of peace don’t these dumb ass followers of mine understand? What happened to all the judge not, casting the first stone stuff I told them about, how about that money changer stuff? Wait til I have a chance to give them a piece of my mind!”

  208. Saywho says:

    Listen JPark & I WORFEUS,

I have an opinion just like you. I disagree and you determine the level of involvement you see fit. I do not have to consider your positions at this point since I have read many of your posts. You are two of the posters that believe that once Bush is gone morality that you approve of will settle over us.

I wish it was true or even possible. I’m sure you have read my posts and know that I see the whole thing as population overshoot. My thoughts are excluded but the words remain. We are out of energy, over populated, sick, tired, depressed, disturbed and lost. Go to the food store (I just got back from Shop-Rite), one pack of generic chicken breasts was $11.00……..

Here I stated that LEGAL IMMIGRATION was the only method we should approve of. If illegal immigration is accepted then what Bill O said about anarchy is what we have. Anarchy is lawlessness in mass scale. By skipping the legal process we do more damage than just creating double standards.

Ellis Island was important and so is LEGAL immigration. So then someone labels me as a Repub or calls me names LOL.
Regardless take your shots but that seems to be how TP is regarding opinions and insult slinging. ILLEGAL ALIENS need to be DEPORTED!

I tried inviting Jesus into my heart, but when Phil and Darryl found out he was an illegal alien from the Middle east, they took him out back and beat him. When He said He believed in peace, they called Him a “damned lib” and shot him. When He said He felt only love for them, they called Him a queer, buggered Him as punishment, and kicked Him out of the country.

It’s not easy being a deity in the You Ess of Ay.

More insult slinging, useless wasted time, internet blogging FUD on your part? More of your moronic solutions to issues that can be solved by actually enforcing a law that allows South Americans to be treated like indentured servants and Americans to pay for their medical problems because it is not enforced? As far as STRAW goes that is used as feed for mules. I might have been harsh on I WORFEUS but then I remember that he and I disagree on Peak Oil and probably about everything else so there is no love lost.

  281. Alishye says:

Speaking of bigotry, it’s not “a crusade against brown people.” It’s a campaign to uphold the rule of law in the United States and protect American labor. What part of that do people not understand? – tkk

    ============

I agree. While I don’t like O’Reilly, I think it DOES have something to with illegal aliens AND drunk driving.

Why? Well because of the obvious – it WAS an illegal alien who was driving AND drinking WHILE driving!

If a Mexican (or anyone) is going to disobey United States immigration laws and be here illegally, then what makes us think they will obey ANY of our rules? We can’t say to our citizens and those who would be citizens to obey the laws of the United States if, at the same time, we allow millions to openly disobey them!

We don’t tolerate our own citizens disobeying our laws – and yet are we willing to allow millions who aren’t U.S. citizens to break them?

    Talk about a contradiction!

After much thought, I guess I would consider myself a moderate with a very liberal bent. I don’t agree completely with everything a “liberal” does and I certainly don’t agree with everything a Republican does.

But what truly upsets me about liberals or right-wingers is their ability to completely ignore what the majority of Americans want.

For example, the far-right wants the war to go on without end and follow Bush blindly – knowing all the while that somewhere around 70% of Americans want it to end.

On the other hand, liberals want to allow illegal immigration to continue without any interference, no matter that a clear majority wants to find some kind of rational solution.

Too much extreme, be it left or right, isn’t good.

#283 You are not moderate, you don’t LEAN liberal, you are a troll or you wouldn’t say On the other hand, liberals want to allow illegal immigration to continue without any interference, no matter that a clear majority wants to find some kind of rational solution. Can I buy a Republican talking point?

  292. legaleze says:

283, instead of speaking of bigotry, let’s speak of ignorance. You said: “On the other hand, liberals want to allow illegal immigration to continue without any interference, no matter that a clear majority wants to find some kind of rational solution.” How about a cite or some back up for that outrageous statement? Where is your support? I suggest you don’t have a clue about what liberals think or want. Unless you can back up that statement, you should apologize or get ready to face what’s coming.

  293. JPark says:

#291 Heh, I think we sensed the same thing.

  294. gorn by any other name says:

People, you might as well stop trying to reference posts by their post number. This thread is totally hosed.

  295. Alishye says:

I’m not a troll. Should I now prove it? Go check out Newshounds and you’ll find me under the name: Alishye, PbD. Read my posts. I’ve also posted about illegal immigration and had arguments with Newshounder regulars.

Just because I don’t agree with everything liberal doesn’t make me a troll.

  296. JPark says:

#293 Yeah, that happens late at night.

  297. legaleze says:

People, you might as well stop trying to reference posts by their post number. This thread is totally hosed.

    Agreed! Totally hosed.

  298. JPark says:

#294 Than why do you claim, despite the fact that all other speeches made by Bush have been met by the soldiers with applause and yelling, that all of a sudden it is respect for Bush is quietude?

  299. legaleze says:

Alishye, where is your support for your outrageous statement: “liberals want to allow illegal immigration to continue without any interference . . .”? I’m not calling you a troll, I’m calling you ignorant, at best.

  300. Chico says:

I like merica. I work hard. I think I do your job goot. I do job for $75.00 a day. You like dat

  301. JPark says:

Ok, my grammar sucked on my last post.

  302. JPark says:

Hmm, Chico, $75 sounds pretty close to what Americans make for those jobs.

  303. Alishye says:

Ignorant, huh? I’ve mentioned that I blogged on Newshound and I get my “ignorance” from arguing this topic with them.

I believe you’re being overly sensitive.

So explain your solution. You’re a liberal, yes?

  304. bye bye GOP says:

  305. Chico says:

  306. JPark says:

Alishye, that is no answer to his question. Why do you ignorantly echo Republican talking points?

  307. JPark says:

And being a troll on Newhound doesn’t make you legit on TP. Just saying.

  308. JPark says:

Yeah, Chico, you need a real job.

  309. Alishye says:

By the way, I AM a moderate and I DO “lean” liberal. Lean only – since I don’t subscribe to everything “liberal”. If that is offensive, then you must not be a liberal either, since foremost to being a liberal, I thought, is tolerance.

See? This, “I’m NOT a liberal” thing works both ways.

Maybe YOU should think before you type.

So explain your solution. You’re a liberal, yes?

    Comment by Alishye — April 6, 2007 @ 1:43 am

Admit you don’t have any support for your outrageous statement. Admit it or back it up with evidence. Until and unless you do one or the other, you and I have nothing to discuss.

  312. Alishye says:

Legit here or not is your opinion. But I wasn’t coming in as a troll. Just as a voice with a different opinion.

But I am getting a bit bored with the fact you keep calling me ignorant because I don’t agree with YOU.

Can’t you come up with something better than that?

My “answer” may not be the answer you’re seeking, but insulting me won’t get me to give you an answer you like better.

  313. JPark says:

Alishye, give me a break. I am supposed to tolerate you smearing the liberal position? Yeah, sorry, I am tolerant, not stupid.

  314. Pedro says:

  315. gorn by any other name says:

“On the other hand, liberals want to allow illegal immigration to continue without any interference”

Well, I can’t find your original post. But looking at the quote above, don’t you think it is ignorance to paste all liberals with your ridiculous assertion? Couldn’t you at least put “some” in front of “liberals”?

Isn’t it ignorant to extrapolate from “blogging on Newshound” and arguing with “them” (no doubt consisting of a handful of anonymous people), to being knowledgeable on the views of tens of millions of people?

  316. JPark says:

No Alishye, you did not come on here with a “different position”. You came to smear us. I will again quote you.

On the other hand, liberals want to allow illegal immigration to continue without any interference, no matter that a clear majority wants to find some kind of rational solution.

I know of no liberals who believe that. Your “answer” is not just not the one I am looking for. It is what Karl Rove would tell you about liberals.

Your position JPark is doggy style but you don’t drive!

  318. JPark says:

#319 Hey, I know more than missionary.

  319. legaleze says:

See Alishye, gorn by any other name made a nice argument. That’s what I need to see from you in response. A premise, supported by some facts, followed by rational argument. But right now, you got nothing, man, nada, zero. . . . And unlike phil, you are not even amusing. I’m going to bed if you don’t come up with something soon.

  320. Alishye says:

    Legaleze,

Go to bed. I didn’t ask you to argue with me! I just posted my opinion and for that I’m ignorant and in league with Karl Rove!

Name me ONE liberal who has come up with a rational solution to the illegal immigration debacle!

  321. legaleze says:

I accept your apology Assholy. Goodnight!

  322. Alishye says:

    “Smearing the liberal position..”

    What IS the liberal position?!

    That’s my ENTIRE point!

  323. JPark says:

#319 Ahh, the immigration “debacle”. As if it were actually more important than Iraq or the economy. Yeah, wedge-issue Alishye.

EVERY SINGLE lib in Congress is for tightening the borders, ala the 9-11 group. They are for keeping those out who don’t belong. However, they are also realistic in that you can’t friggin deport 12 million people. They offer earned residency to those and deportation to those who don’t follow it.

  324. JPark says:

#321 Of course it is. Because you are a right wing hack that is too damn lazy to look it up.

  325. Saywho says:

Alishye’s assertion is acceptable since liberals always argue the immigration issue as difficult, complicated, hot buttoned, etc. Liberal people are looking for the easy way out since they rather have crops picked by someone else. They rather not get their hands dirty. Sometimes these liberals vote Dem or Rep but they always get someone else to do the hands on work. In that scenario the DEM is the consumer of said harvest while the Repub is likely the business owner. Both can be liberal though since it is liberal to knowingly break the law and destroy the economy.

  326. JPark says:

But I forgot, Alishye, you ARE a liberal. You prove it by fighting with those on Newshound. Huh?

  327. gorn by any other name says:

“Name me ONE liberal who has come up with a rational solution to the illegal immigration debacle!”

I’ll do that as soon as you explain and/or apologize for your ridiculous assertion that all liberals want illegal immigration to continue without interference.

Don’t expect us to go researching answers to your latest proposition if you are too intellectually lazy to explain your original assertion. Otherwise, it’s just changing the subject.

If you were this contentious and evasive on Newshound, it’s no wonder people were battling you.

Incidentally, I find it interesting that you say “liberals” want unfettered illegal immigration, while a “clear majority” want otherwise. Given recent elections, I thought liberalism now represented a clear majority. Or, perhaps your definition of liberal includes only the two people you argued with on Newshound???

  328. Alishye says:

Now I’m being called yet another name!

Solutions! THAT’S what people want! Not empty “talking points” and name-calling!

You want a responsible President in ‘08? Then people better start talking about ways to solve our Nations REAL problems and stop with the senseless rhetoric.

And that goes for Democrats, Republicans, far-right-wingers, moderates, liberals & the far-left.

  329. JPark says:

No Say, immigration ISN’T easy. We have to crack down on the borders but what exactly would YOU do about the 12 Million already here? Wait, I already know, you would deport them despite the fact that it would be prohibitively expensive and big business would not support it. Why do you think that is a non-starter? Tyson doesn’t want to lose the cheap labor.

  335. JPark says:

Yes, Alishye, solutions. That is what you are all about. Not bashing liberals but reaching a concensus. Yep.

  336. Alishye says:

“You can’t friggin deport 12 million people”

Who SAID I wanted to? Now THAT’S a Republican idea – NOT mine.

I don’t think you can (or should) deport 12 million people. But I do think that we need tighter security along our borders. We need tighter security when it comes to our personal information, like social security numbers, bank account number, etc.

Look, I have cousin in Mississippi who is dating an illegal immigrant. When I asked, she admitted that he has a stolen social security number and forged US papers in order to work. Thing is, everyone knows that in her small town and NOBODY does anything.

How is that right? What is the liberal solution?!!

If my statement is false, then please (oh! please) explain to this poor “ignorant troll” the true and exact liberal solution to the illegal immigration problem.

Thing is, I keep asking (over and over and over) for someone (anyone!) to explain (in plain, simple English for this “ignorant troll”) what is the liberal solution and for some unknown reason, no one can.

    Strange, n’est pas?

  346. JPark says:

Well, you can believe me or not. I’m in the South and I see illegal immigration perhaps more than you do.

No lengthy dialog, and no I won’t retract my statement.

  352. JPark says:

Alishye, you are officially an idiot. Or not. Just a righty tool. You KNOW you are lying about the Dem position but you don’t care, do you? That makes you a troll.

Nobody invited you here, don’t feel obligated to stay. Obviously you think we all speak with one mind. Unfortunately you’re thinking of Republicans that follow the administration talking points. That’s not us.

Maybe you should just move on down the road.

  354. JPark says:

If my statement is false, then please (oh! please) explain to this poor “ignorant troll” the true and exact liberal solution to the illegal immigration problem.

Of course it is false and you know it is. We don’t need to explain it to you. You are more intelligent than our average troll. You KNOW you are a lying sack.

  355. gorn by any other name says:

“If my statement is false, then please (oh! please) explain to this poor “ignorant troll” the true and exact liberal solution to the illegal immigration problem.”

Nice try, but elementary logic dictates that the burden of proof is on the person who makes the assertion. I’m not here to explain away your delusion.

Either defend your position or retract it.

Most definitely NOT amusing. What the world needs, another boooorrrring troll.

  357. Alishye says:

Right back at ya, Shane. I jumped on the “condescending thing” band wagon when I kept getting it from your peers.

If this were a contest, then I would say that JPark came closest to winning. Thanks for the ONLY explanation on the “liberal” immigration position:

“The Dems have a platform on immigration. We can fix it by tightening border controls and assimilating the current aliens. Yeah, real problem. Almost as big as that fake Social Security disaster.”

IF it were a contest, I did say that JPark was the closest to getting the prize, but (hold your horses) not quite.
That is the solution of some Democrats (and one I happen to support), but I wouldn’t say that it is a liberal solution since not all Democrats support it and most of the ones that do are the more moderate.

  358. Saywho says:

The Dems have a platform on immigration. If you don’t like it, that is your problem. Call your Reps and Sens. Immigration is not some incredibly huge problem the righties say it is. Yea, good idea let’s absorb them. That is not a plan by the way Jet Eye Master Flush; the aliens are in all over the place and have self absorbed. This would be considered a thumb in our eyes by all except those going with the Borg assimilation plan. Your plan is simply MORE OF THE SAME/no plan at all!

  359. gorn by any other name says:

Wrong again. I’m in San Diego.

You know what they say about people who make assumptions, right?

For about the tenth time: defend your assertion or retract it.

And nobody else can retract it for you.

  360. Alishye says:

  362. JPark says:

Alsishye, you say that is the solution of some Dems but since it isn’t the solution for all Dems it isn’t the Dem solution. Are you crazy? You have Tancredo and Bush in the same party with Bush (embarassingly) with pretty much the same idea as the Dems while Tancredo practically wants to kill all foreigners. Do you think EVERY person in the party has to agree before it is on the platform?

  363. JPark says:

Saywho, how is that not a plan? Because your bigotry won’t allow it?

  364. shane says:

Oh, what tangled web we weave when first we engage of denial of our stupid assertions…

  366. JPark says:

The only thing phil’s good for is playing with … but really he’s not that amusing is he?

  368. Alishye says:

    I love the name-calling – really I do.

Usually it’s the “troll” who throws out all the nasty little names – you don’t usually get it from bloggers on the left.

Usually, your more intelligent bloggers ARE on the left and they have no need to be crude.

I think (okay, so now I’m being nasty) the word “troll” was invented for the “ignorant” right-winger who couldn’t come up with an intelligent comment to win an argument against a Democrat or Liberal.

I’ve never seen a person who disagrees with someone (or several someone’s) attacked with vicious name-calling on a left-leaning blog.

I think some of us have let our victory in November go to our heads.

So how about this? I won’t retract my statement. You don’t have to explain the liberal position and you may tell everyone that you “won” an argument against a vicious, nasty, name-calling troll.

There! Does that make you feel better now?

  369. JPark says:

Shane, that one (phil) has an IQ of 80-. I feel bad about enjoying the ripping I give him but I am irredeemable. I will do it over and over and over…

  370. shane says:

Thing is, I keep asking (over and over and over) for someone (anyone!) to explain (in plain, simple English for this “ignorant troll”) what is the liberal solution and for some unknown reason, no one can.

    Strange, n’est pas?

    Comment by Alishye — April 6, 2007 @ 2:26 am

Well this is a paragraph straight out of the troll play book. Come here acting like we’re all one person and then demand we explain ourselves.

Okay, you go first. Explain why you’re here and what you plan to accomplish. If you’re trying to teach us “poor dumb liberals” something you might as well give it up.

  371. barfly says:

I wouldn’t say that it is a liberal solution since not all Democrats support it and most of the ones that do are the more moderate.”

So, what is the conservative position, and do all republicans endorse it?

  372. JPark says:

Shane, would it be so hard for them to tell us what their ideas are? It is not like we hide what we believe. Maybe if they did that we could have actual dialogue.

  373. legaleze says:

Hey gorn, I’m in San Diego too (albeit on vacation). Good on ya mate.

It’s late and time for bed. And the official count is in, alishye ignored the request to back up his outrageous statement eight times and offerred a dozen diversions instead.

By the way, this immigration thing is just another fear tactic by the right. They want us to be afraid that our borders are insecure, that we are under attack, that we need more police, more soldiers, more jails and more dollars for defense and national security. Go ahead and give them the money they seek to make you feel secure; give them that money, which they in turn give to Haliburton and Blackwater. Give them that money which could be used for your healthcare or your children’s education. Give them your money and your freedom, cause until you see the real issue here, you, alishye, don’t deserve it.

    Goodnight.

  374. JPark says:

I know that Exley takes a lot of crap but I like the guy. Yeah, he is arrogant and condescending but you know where he stands. He doesn’t just attack.

And you came here, why? Oh and I bet some of your best friends are liberals too, being all open minded as you are.

  376. Alishye says:

Liberal & Democrat aren’t quite the same. You do understand that, don’t you?

They are no more the same that a moderate Republican and a far-right winger are!

I can’t believe I have to point out the obvious!

And you keep calling me ignorant! Geez!

  377. gorn by any other name says:

So how about this? I won’t retract my statement. You don’t have to explain the liberal position and you may tell everyone that you “won” an argument against a vicious, nasty, name-calling troll.

Your continued attempt to equate your silly assertion with our refusal to take the bait to change the subject, is painfully transparent.

    “I love the name-calling – really I do.”

I’m pretty sure I haven’t called you any names (though sorely tempted), so instead of continuing with that attempted diversion, please just do what I have asked now many times – explain your assertion, defend your position, or retract it.

If you really believe that all liberals take the position you assert, you should be able to defend it.

    Or, dodge some more.

  378. JPark says:

Nice try Alishye, so with your definition you could NEVER define a liberal position because you would have to include all liberals and since the term is a bit nebulous you couldn’t possibly do it. You can’t lose. You can say there is no blanket liberal stance and you would be right every time.

  379. barfly says:

wouldn’t say that it is a liberal solution since not all Democrats support it and most of the ones that do are the more moderate.”

You post this, and think we’re confused? Try re-reading your words; you seem to be confused about the difference between liberal and democrat.

  380. Saywho says:

Saywho, how is that not a plan? Because your bigotry won’t allow it?

    Comment by JPark — April 6, 2007 @ 2:42 am

As I type and you read we have a Border Patrol. Even though we are building walls and making arrests they flood in. Beyond that millions are here that have simply overstayed their visas. As we talk illegal aliens have entered the workforce, hospitals, schools, etc.

Your plan like the one Bush did was and is… Beef up the boarder and absorb the aliens! If you asked me I would tackle the actual issue. American corporations that higher the aliens must be made accountable and institutions would be forced to turn aliens away. Aliens found to commit felonies in the US will never be legally able to enter the US for any reason after serving their sentence! There is more but I have to go to the bathroom… and your plan is not a plan since it is actually current GOP policy!

  381. gorn by any other name says:

“Liberal & Democrat aren’t quite the same. You do understand that, don’t you?”

Are you asking yourself this question? You’re the one who said that (a) all liberals held a position for unfettered illegal immigration; (b) demanded to hear a different position from a liberal; (c) upon given a different position, stated that it could not be considered a liberal opinion because all Democrats do not support it.

Please, try to follow your own stream of consciousness.

And please, explain or retract your original absurd assertion.

I think some of us have let our victory in November go to our heads.

So how about this? I won’t retract my statement. You don’t have to explain the liberal position and you may tell everyone that you “won” an argument against a vicious, nasty, name-calling troll.

There! Does that make you feel better now?

    Comment by Alishye — April 6, 2007 @ 2:48 am

I think some of us are tired of getting bullied by neocons. I think Democrats won the election because we stopped being bullied as opposed to fighting back because we won.

I guestt this isn’t the left leaning blog of roll over and play dead. So if your looking for a group of liberals who will thank you for sharing your infinite wisdom with us you came to the wrong place.

In addition, you came in at about #290 and you want us to start explaining the entire thread or what. Come back when you can get in at the start of a thread and maybe you’ll understand that we all think differently and that’s what liberal means.

  383. Alishye says:

I’m not trying to teach you anything Shane. I don’t think you’re dumb. I just posted my opinion like hundreds of others have done. I didn’t think I would get attacked. I am being completely serious.

And Legaleze just proved my point. Liberals (NOT Democrats) don’t want to do anything about the border.

I’m all for universal health care & free education (all levels – that includes collage), but I think only law-abiding Americans should receive them. There should be conditions that must be met to be eligible for such programs – but those programs should be available. Every other great Nation has them – why don’t we?

As I just explained to Queen Alishye, I am tired of getting kicked around by neocons. No more Mrs. Nice Guy for me. And trolls are good butt kicking practice. And they can alway leave, we don’t go looking for them.

  385. JPark says:

Alishye, I have told you how I feel. I believe that immigration is mostly a diversion issue. However, I believe we need to close borders and ports. Inspections and all that like the 9-11 commission suggested. Those that are here…if they behave and do everything required of them get to be citizens. I am a liberal. Do I speak for all liberals? No. So, if you feel the need you can say liberals don’t have a plan for immigration you can but in that case no collective group has a plan for anything.

Okay, I get it. So by definition a liberal is someone who subscribes to your statement about allowing unfettered illegal immigration. Thank you for providing the definition.

You should now feel secure that by your definition liberals account for an insignificantly small percentage of the population, because I don’t know even a single person who subscribes to your statement.

As far as I know, by your definition, there is not a single liberal on TP.

Now that we have that clarified, I’d suggest you cease to use the word liberal here because I doubt anyone outside of Rush Limbaugh shares anything like your definition.

Do you have any other strawmen to construct?

  396. Saywho says:

OK Back and my point is on the money

  397. Alishye says:

I don’t agree that it’s the right who are divided on the issue. Or should I say that the line between right & left has become very, very blurry. It’s only the far-right and the far-left who are completely different.

I think the far-right want to kick every illegal immigrant out (how they plan to accomplish that I have no idea) and when I said “liberal” I meant the far-left want to allow open borders with no sanctions against illegal immigrants.

I believe that the majority of Americans are moderates – neither far-right nor far-left, Republicans or Democrat. I’ve always believed that the majority were moderate, but just didn’t realized it. That it took the antics of George W. Bush to make people, who thought they were Republicans, understand that they are actually moderate.

If I didn’t type it quite right, oh well, but I certainly didn’t mean to attack anyone. That wasn’t my intention. Debate was.

  398. Saywho says:

I believe that Alishye’s point is that regardless of party there is no plan like the current plan that will probably lead to race riots!

Has it occurred to you that people here who consider themselves “liberal” found it “mean” that you attacked liberals with your opening statement? Has it occurred to you that in so doing, you set the tone for what followed? Has it occurred to you that your refusal to retract it only added fuel to the fire?

I’ve looked at your “score card,” and some of the scoring categories look a little ambigous. Who exactly are these folks? I see that one of the ways that someone can earn negative points is by co-sponsoring bills – a very inexact measurement, don’t you think? Bills are co-sponsored for a variety of reasons, as i’m sure you’re well aware. Some co-sponsor bills they know will never see the light of legislative day – so this formulation could be easily skewed. How’s that?

  422. Saywho says:

Wow that hurt. She was correct too

  423. gorn by any other name says:

“Check out Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Stephen Lynch and others immigration reform voting record”

I went to the web site and looked at Ted Kennedy’s “grade”, but it is only a grade assigned by someone and not an actual description of his positions. No offense, but that doesn’t mean much unless you have great faith in the people giving the grade.

So I went to Teddy’s web site, and here is a direct quote of his stated (high level) position on immigration:

We must have a comprehensive fix to our nation’s immigration problem. Strong enforcement measures are critical to reforming immigration laws, but we cannot regain control of our borders by simply cracking down harder. True immigration reform must be realistic, with solutions that protect our borders, enable temporary workers to come here legally, and allow workers already here to earn legal status.

This does not look to me as if Teddy is in favor of unfettered illegal immigration. Therefore, again your statement is disproved. Ted’s statement may be debatable in its content, but it any case it clearly does not match your assertion. If he’s your poster boy for liberals, your statement is false.

Really, we should stop kicking this dead horse and it would be nice if you would consider distancing yourself from your initial assertion.

We must have a comprehensive fix to our nation’s immigration problem. Dang you are tellin me! Strong enforcement measures are critical to reforming immigration laws, but we cannot regain control of our borders by simply cracking down harder. I thought creating strong laws that must be enforced to the letter of the law that are just would be symbolic of showing some resolve in congress? Dang, they cracked down some crack but it didn’t work! True immigration reform must be realistic, with solutions that protect our borders, enable temporary workers to come here legally, and allow workers already here to earn legal status. Here what he is suggesting is that unless you round em up and kill em all they are like roaches. So we will do more of the same!

  427. gorn by any other name says:

“Honestly there are 12 MILLION aliens in the US probably more…

What are you talking about? He said he is in favor of a guest worker program (a fetter) and providing a path for those already here to become legal (another fetter). These are different fetters from building a 2000 mile fence, militarizing the border, and deporting anyone who can’t produce documents, but nevertheless they are fetters.

If I’m not mistaken, these are also positions held by the notorious liberal George Bush.

I am not saying I take these positions, I am only pointing out that they are quite effective in showing that Alishye’s point was FALSE. Again, end of story.

Personally, I have no interest in debating immigration reform on this board, certainly not at this late hour, so I’m not going to take the bait. I’m not mistaken – this is exactly what I said – Bush’s position is similar to Ted’s – both suggest a guest worker program and some means to legalize those already here. Therefore if Ted is the poster boy liberal, George Bush must also be liberal.

Oh dear lord, what is WITH you people??

    This is what she said:

liberals want to allow illegal immigration to continue without any interference, no matter that a clear majority wants to find some kind of rational solution

This is proven false by the fact that (a) liberals here have said they do not agree with it, (b) her poster child Ted Kennedy states a different position on his web site, and (c) the incumbent non-liberal administration agrees with Kennedy and therefore the “clear majority” statement makes no sense any way you look at it.

This would be a statement more closely resembling reality:

“On the other hand, liberals are not in favor of building a 2000 foot wall on the border, utilizing dogs, machine guns, or mine fields, or committing genocidal attacks on anyone not carrying documentation.”

I think liberals would agree with that, as would the clear majority of sane people.

However, her statement was just f-ing stupid. Get over it.

  438. gorn by any other name says:

And guess what, I also happen to agree with Keith. But that isn’t the point, if you weren’t able to figure that out yet. You’re too busy trying to prop up some vapid strawman talking point assertion.

The fact is, the illegal immigration problem is yet another manifestation of Republican failure for the past six years, and more specifically a failure of both Bush I and Bush II. To try to paint it as the result of liberalism or the Democrats is intellectual dishonesty of the worst order. There is plenty to dislike about Democrats (as all politicians) without inventing things, or transferring guilt from the bankrupt ideology of the right wing to the acquiescent ideology of the left.

    STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

  462. Tweedster says:

FUNK! I need some speakers for my office desktop. Although the hilarity was well apparent. Watch this muted and dream up an argument about the pros and cons of loofas. You may fall off of your chair!

    LMAO

Fox News has jumped the shark.

  464. rabidbunny says:

If we had real immigration inforcement, two girls would be alive right now. Tie that to the fact that 1/3 of federal prisoners are illegal immigrants-I commend ORielly for getting upset. Illegal immigration will crush our country.

    HA
This topic still rages on. Proof that immigration is definitely a Hot Button issue even here at TP. This may also be proof that the Factor has a plot-line, script and a crack editing staff. Some of us think that nearly 100% of TV and cable programming is scripted and edited. Any time you see a “Point vs. Counter Point” type of show you must suspend disbelief for it to become factual in a FOX world.
Why does fox lie about everything else they show but allow us to see this? They shoot many takes and choose the one that is most effective to get a specific point across. I believe that this was “Shock TV” like you would see on Howard Stern On Demand. Here I think they programmed us to take sides. In essence they divided us to conquer our minds. With that tension they are free to suggest that the immigration issue is a NON ISSUE.

  467. The Fool says:

My, my, my. Authoritarian much, Bill?

Geraldo: this is what you get for casting your lot with these scumbags, you scumbag.

  468. The Fool says:

What do wanna bet Geraldo finds himself “disullusioned” with his sojourn among the authoritarian right wing followers soon and pulls a Matthew Dowd?

Drunk drivers and killing people with cars?

George Bush 1 drunk driving conviction. Dick Cheney 2 drunk driving convictions. Laura Bush killed her ex-fiance by running stop sign and crashing into his car (I ain’t saying intentionally). We do not know if she was breathalyzed. We do know she got no conviction whatsoever.

  471. Leonard says:

I love it! Fox News showing its true color: bull “manure” brown. Too bad they didn’t include the other two jerks: Glenn Beck and Nancy Grace — they could have had a tag team match…

  472. I WORFEUS says:

Hey guys, help me out here.

What’s that Oreilly says at the end of his broadcasts when he’s telling folks to email him?

It’s amazing how they all play the same exact clip, but they don’t play what happens a minute later. That’s the part that shows you it’s all a B.S. act again for ratings:

  479. I WORFEUS says:

I just still don’t think it was staged. I think what you saw there was two highly paid guys who just realized they were acting like raving lunatics live on camera, and were trying to salvage their dignity, and their view base.

No matter how funny you or I thought that was, his fan base, you know, 70 year old grandma’s in Podunk Illinois, won’t think it was too funny. In fact, Oreilly looked so bad I am sure a lot of them turned the channel.

It may have been staged, but if it was, Oreilly deserves an emmy. Cause his faced turned redder than the blood on his hands.

  480. Canis Bananis says:

Bill O’Reilly is a talented entertainer but – for his own sake – every once in a while he should leave the No-Spin-Zone and return to the gravity of Planet Earth.

  481. James says:

A young women lost her life…cut him some slack. For those labeling him an “ultra” conservative, he’s not. He is pro choice and takes a liberal position on other issues such as global warming and gun control.

  482. David says:

The bottom line is that the spinless liberal news outlets would never show anything as uncontrolled as the O’reilly/Rivera debate, staged or not. You liberals keep watching the coverage of American Idol. I want some real drama in the media from both sides as Fox has done.

  483. Rand says:

Since all of you seem to take much satisfaction in shading the facts, allow me to be “pithy” and clear……………You’re idiots.

    ….let the pointless retorts begin……

  484. Geraldo's Blind says:

I completely agree with Bill O’Reilly. It’s up to everyone to help enforce laws, especially laws that have potential negative impact on national security — namely illegal immigrants. Law enforcement agencies, at the federal and local levels, have a responsibility to enforce illegal immigration laws. Law enforcement cannot pick and choose which federal laws they want to enforce.
