“That is utter rubbish. It’s electoral propaganda.”»

CBS News Correspondent Allen Pizzey on McCain’s remarks about his trip to Baghdad: “It’s disgraceful for a man seeking highest office, I think, to talk utter rubbish. And that is utter rubbish. It’s electoral propaganda. It is simply not true. No one in his right mind who has been to Baghdad believes that story.

UPDATE: According to McCain adviser Max Boot, the U.S. embassy’s security coordinator “refused to sign off on McCain’s visit because he thought it was too risky.”

No, the moon landings were not staged, we are selling all the equipment and debris left behind at the Far Side Flea Market, Fridays and Saturdays.
Not this Friday however, we are all heading for the Good Friday Jake and Bake at the beach on the Sea of Disability.

  10. Crump's Brother Says:

    Jake,

What was not true, was what McCain said last week concerning General Petraeus going out regularaly in an unarmored Humvee.

He’s trying to paint a rosy picture that doesn’t exist.

  11. CONservative Says:

As is anything done by this fascist administration and their GOP henchmen in Congress and Faux News.

    Comment by Jake

Oh Lord. Here comes Jake with his usual brand of insanity. Sir, would McCain have ‘visited’ the marketplace without any guards? Wouldn’t that have the desired effect of suggesting stability in Iraq is on the rise?

  13. Badmoodman Says:

I can’t help but feel mostly pity for this delusional old man. And I really feel badly for his fairly young wife. But if McCain were to somehow get the presidency, then all my fears of the U.S. populace would be confirmed.

You wouldn’t last ten minutes in Southeast San Diego’s Barrio Logan, you sad, incontinent geezer.

  15. mike Says:

Jake, are you joking? I’m guessing your from Nebraska or somewhere, that you have an idea of South Central LA from “Boys in the Hood”. Would find it necessary for McCain to wear a flak jacket and be accompanied by dozens of soldiers and an Apache helicopter in Los Angeles?

Just because he’s in your party doesn’t mean you need to follow blindly. Critical thought is necessary in a complex world. Nobody is “correct” as much as your people want us to believe.

    Get this people (even Jake),

NEW YORK - Now that the U.S. Congress is investigating the truth of President George W. Bush’s statements about the Iraq war, they might look into one of his most startling assertions: that there was a link between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. Critics dismissed that as an invention. They were wrong. There was a link, but not the one Bush was selling. The link between Hussein and Bin Laden was their banker, BCCI. But the link went beyond the dictator and the jihadist — it passed through Saudi Arabia and stretched all the way to George W. Bush and his father.

This is interesting when you consider this information…

George Bush’s grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.
The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.

His business dealings, which continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

That article can be found here…

Why is the Bush family at the center of so much death and violence?

And how many Blackhawks, Jake? 3 that we could see?

    How’d I do?

Fu*k Jake. Don’t respond to his insanity anymore. His frail feeble old mind can no longer process reality.

This goes beyond 100 soldier guard, with 2 apaches and three black hawks.

250 soldiers swept the market before the 100 soldier guard, with 2 apaches and three black hawks even showed up.

Only with 100 US troops surrounding him.

    A bullet proof vest.

4 Blackhawk hellicopters, and 2 apachie hellicopters circling…

    Yeah…… That is safe!!!!

Now if he goes down there without any of these things, and survives, then I will agree that things are better…..

When is McCain going to go without all the troops and hellicopters?

  24. freeman Says:

Hey jake how about blackwater recieving billions , better equipted ,by all accounts, than our own army in Iraq ,represented by ken star and fred Fielding ,the presidents general counsel, operating on the streets of america ,pointing guns at citizens in New Orleans and baesd in Virginia ?

Jake, leave it to the libs to exaggerate. What McCain should’ve stated is that Iraq isn’t completely safe, but there is continuing progress within that country.

F.YOU jake. get a real job- for the good of humanity. Politicizing a blog is god damned pathetic.

  39. s Says:

This is worth exploring more deeply…a powerful angle.
Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo provides this reader’s comment: TPM Reader PM on the McCain campaign event …
“I just wanted to provide a comment regarding McCain’s Iraq trip from a slightly different perspective that I don’t believe has been considered by many. U.S. government officials including elected representatives have regularly visited Iraq for a host of reasons and, of course, all have been provided with necessary protection by our servicemen. This is all completely reasonable under most circumstances and indeed part and parcel of the military’s responsibilities in Iraq. However, is it still justified to use our military, both men and machines, in such an overwhelming way to simply provide McCain with what amounts to a political ad for a presidential campaign? McCain’s intent was to demonstrate the wisdom of a surge he fully supported and provide the electorate proof of his good judgment. Unfortunately, the only way to fulfill this illusion was with the use of heavy military cover. Since all military operations involve some risk, I ask: Was it reasonable to risk the lives of our soldiers for a staged photo-opportunity?”

  40. Rosencrantz Says:

Wow…with words that strong you would think CBS mistook McCain for a liberal. They call that out as being Bull**** but will run the Pelosi smears, run all the Bush press conferences without pointing out the hypocrist, will call Giuliani “america’s mayor, etc, etc, etc.

While I congratulate CBS calling McCain on this point, it was so blatantly obvious that I don’t think even the media could avoid it. I will also point out that the media didn’t call McCain on this on day one…as usual they let the blogs run with it and then picked up the story afterwords.

When CBS starts callin Bush, McCain, Cheney, political “experts”, etc, on their bull**** then I will take notice.

  41. Jim Wolf359 Says:

I think we can call this desperation. Since McCain signed on to this Surge Stragety it, of course, has to work. There is no other way for him to think or act. He and the rest of the repugs who support this will deny it isn’t working despite all evidence to the contrary. His “stroll” through the marketplace was a disastorous act of denial.
The really sad thing is that if you know any of McCain’s Family history is that he comes from a long line of proud service to our Country. His Father commanded a Aircraft Carrier group under Adms. Halsey and Spruance in WW II. His Uncle, I think served in Submarines during the same war. McCains own service during Vietnam speaks for itself. A family that has given much in service to the United States.
That makes what he’s doing now so tragic IMHO.

  49. freeman Says:

How about a little recreational water boarding for god .

  50. Raven Says:

I worked with a staunch Republican, who blamed Abraham Lincoln for the creation of what he termed “the welfare state”
He also collected a Social Security disability for running his right hand through a table saw three weeks before he was due to retire at 65. Which he blamed on the illegal alien construction workers who worked for him. (He was angry at them for complaining about back wages owed, hence he ran his hand thru his saw…)
When I worked with him, the boss made out two checks every payday, one to him, which averaged about $140.00, and one to his wife for the balance of his wages, which averaged $350.00. Thus he could continue to collect his full disability check. Which he somehow felt society owed him.
I eventually called him on his scam, and he got all blustery and defensive.
So I told him to quit telling me I should go to church.
    So just shut up Jake.

  51. ForTruth Says:

  54. I WORFEUS Says:

I for one approve wholeheartedly of Senator Mc-Cains trip to Baghdad.

I applaud it in fact, because it showed Americans once and for all, just how stupid the right wing thinks they are.

When Americans saw Mc-Cain talking about how safe he was, while at the same time seeing the small army of choppers, tanks and troops it took for him to make the video telling everyone how safe it was, they saw that the right wing thinks they’re all idiots, and they also saw just how deluded the right wing really is.

Even the dumbest of the dirt farmers when he saw McCain surrounded by Apache attack choppers and a small army, clad in body armour telling us how “safe he was”, must’ve fallen of his tree stump stool laughing his ass off.

  55. Vinnie Says:

I would agree that this Jake seems a little different. I think the original actually believed in what he said and wasn’t that stupid. This guy just says “Clinton, Clinton, Clinton” and other equally stupid crap.

Think about how incredible this is, someone is actually more of an asinine, ignorant jerk than our old buddy Jake.

  56. Raymond Funamoto Says:

WELL SAID, Pizzey—THANKS FOR GIVING McPAIN A WELL DESERVED BITCH-SLAP FOR HIS FOOLISH FATUOUS HYPOCRITICAL WORDS!!!!!

  57. Raven Says:
