IT is truely a joke that this site actually has the guts to call themselves think progress. Whose progress are we talking about here. The attorneys are appointed by the executive branch of government. They are political appointments. They can be fired for any reason at all. Why not such a big scream about Clinton firing all of them. You brilliant people who like to scream about anyone who is a republican being evil need to look at your own I am sure democratic representatives and senators and look at all the political appointments they make and hire. You want to get real outrage and see where taxpayers money and the health of this country is being effected the most adversely. Of course then again there will be no outrage anyhow from you because either you don’t want to pay attention to this or you have the some of the nice politically appointed jobs in your districts.

One of the most brilliant and highly respected U.S. District Judges was appointed by the president when he was in his early 30s. After nearly 40 years on the bench this judge is now on what is called senior status (a form of semi-retirement). If a white male can become a judge at 33, then an Indian American female certainly can become a U.S. Attorney at the seem age.
It seems the Minnesotans (many are Euros of Scandanivian descent) arenâ€™t happy with a young highly intelligent Indian-American woman serving as the U.S. Attorney. You need to look beyond the politics and the true source of the Minnesotans dislike for this young ladyâ€™s rise to become top prosecutor.

Moreover, if Minnesotans are as racist (against dark-skinned people) as you imply, how can you explain its recent election (Nov. 2006) of the first Muslim, a Black man, to the US Congress?

She is unfit for the position and should be fired. She has said she was surprised she was selcted for the postion. If she has any integretiy she would resign. Surely she knows she was not selected for her skill set. And now the world knows that too due to the self-demotion of her hand selcected staff – the real pros – all due to her clear lack of ability. And shame on the senator who finallyt sponcered her nomination. The “good” senator was elected to protect the interests of his constituents. Here, the Bushies are inflitrating Minnesota for Bush/Rove goals with this unqualified baby attorney. The Senator admits that Paulose was not his first two choices to fill the opening and that she was forced on him by Gonzales. She has ruined her career by accepting this position. She is tarred forever by this Rove/Gooding/religious sting on Minnesota.

Let me reiterate – she had NO EXPERIENCE as a prosecutor at ANY LEVEL. You don’t tap someone to lead aprosecutor’s office that has NEVER done any kind of work in that field, no matter if they’re white, black, or green with pink polka dots.

I said it before – she may have had the educational bona fides, but she’s too wet-behind-the-ears to be handed the top spot in a state’s U.S. Attorney office.

Here is another thought. Suppose you served 25 years in the US Atty office. Then a 33 year old, who has 8 years of legal experience becomes your boss. Then this 33 year old criticizes your work and your priorities, you probably would complain too.

Paulose was confirmed in the closing minutes of the previous republican senate. My guess is she was deeply involved in the US Attorney purge. Hopefully she will be called to testify by the Senate. We may be witness to the unprecedented spectacle of a sitting US Attorney taking the fifth amendment.

Also, Jake, I’m glad that you, as a proud Korean War veteran, are here protecting the integrity of Ms. Paulose, the 33 year-old immigrant from India (I assume from this that you are also in favor of an open immigration policy for this great country of ours).

Ms. Paulose may have indeed have more talents than her ability to quote the Bible and, per protagonist, to “suck a wicked dick,” but, unfortunately, she doesn’t seem to have the legal experience and gravitas to run a U.S. Attorney’s office. Other than her connections to the corporate, right-wing Christian, Karl-Rove Republican political machine, what are her real qualifications to hold this office?
