  1. veritas says:

Kudos Barak! Keep your hands clean of the filth associated with Fox News! Keep yourself high above the clowns and refuse to even associate with these frauds and liars. If you do this and continue to NOT take money from corporate donors, you will definitely rise above the rest and take the nomination handily….and then the Presidency! Go Barak, Go!

  2. Chris L says:

Wow, at this rate, this is shaping up to be quite the non-debate. Fox should have seen this coming. I wonder if Hillary and Kucinich will follow suit – I hope so.

  3. Zooey says:

    You ROCK Obama! Woo Hoooo!!

  4. Tobey Tall says:

  5. veritas says:

Fox News Non-Debate – They deserve it! Kudos to Edwards, too for not associating with pure slime.

  6. veritas says:

Now that reputable individuals have decided to NOT participate, the people will boycott it as well. Who cares what Faux News does anyway these days? They’re totally irrelevant.

  7. Disco says:

Good. Boycott Fox News. WTF is the CBC anyway? Maybe now they’ll finally figure out that the debate was a mistake from the beginning.

  8. Kevin says:

You libtards just hate Bush so much that you take it out on biased phony news networks.

Comment by Republican who doesn’t want Dems to hurt their party. —

I completely disagree. I think this is the best approach they could possibly take. The dem strategists that thought of this move should be given a raise.

No he didn’t. Now you see why Democrats aren’t debating on Fox. You can run along now.

  32. Democrat Soldier says:

    #28 – Faux News lied.

    THAT’S why they’re being ignored.

Repubs cannot abide the truth because it flies in the face of their spin & calumny.

    Comment by shane — April 9, 2007″

Sure they are afraid. They would much prefer appearing on CNN and receiving underhand softballs questions which is exactly what they will get. They’re afraid of Chriss Wallace!

  34. Democrat Soldier says:

#28 – CNN has refuted the lies from Faux News.

“Allegations that Sen. Barack Obama was educated in a radical Muslim school known as a “madrassa” are not accurate, according to CNN reporting.”

One must wonder why Faux News is pushing a blatantly partisan smear?

Pretty simple question. I would think that if one is cheering on a candidate they would be able to elaborate intelligently why?

    2. to wish for, esp. eagerly: He won the prize they all coveted.

    No.
Zooey has been your target since the day you darkened TP’s door.

    Stop.

  73. nadia says:

The point that everyone always seems to miss is that the other Corporate media outlets are not much better than Fox. In the 2004 debates Larry King and Ted Koppel were terrible moderators, all catering to the ‘electable’ John Kerry and avoiding all discussion of the war in Iraq.

The Corporate media has been enabling Bush during his entire presidency, supporting the war in Iraq based completely on lies and now furthering lies about Iran being a threat. The Corporate media is a farce as a whole. I think that these candidates are avoiding Fox out of fear that they will be asked hard hitting questions. They are cowards. If they can’t stand up to Fox News you should not be running for president.

  74. katy says:

yea… “president” heston was on the teevee this weekend… as moses (!) and as an astronaut in plantet of the apes…

However, Krugman adds, even though “the GOP’s reversion to the Little Lie technique is a symptom of political weakness, of a party reduced to trivial smears because it has nothing else to offer,”

And thats why nobody wants to debate with FOX. They are liars, very intentional ones at that.

  76. Fulch says:

I’m an Obama fan, does this mean I have to give back my “The Spin Stops Here” tote bag?

  77. Chris L says:

I believe DailyKos said it best

“Barack Obama has chosen not to attend September’s Democratic presidential primary debate co-sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute and Fox News, an aide said, effectively dooming the event.

Obama is the only member of the Congressional Black Caucus running for President, and his decision allows other candidates to skip the debate without facing criticism that they are turning their backs on a leading black institution.”

LMAO – now that is way too f**kn’ funny. If this is your desire, then first, you must be intelligent. No intelligent woman would waste her time with someone as stupid as you are. Secondly, you need to show respect to women if you want them to respect you.

    So kiss my donkey.

  80. Zooey says:

    Coffins,

Somebody hijacked that idiot’s name. :D

  81. Raven says:

the real michael rowed his boat ashore…….

  82. The Unknown Democrat says:

Hooray for Sen. Obama for stiffing Fox debate special. It’s been proven that they aren’t fair and balanced at all. They are a propaganda wing of the Republican Party and rarely if ever tell the facts as they are. They remind me of the Nazi party spreading falsehoods about Jews before the holicast during WWII. The Nazi party made the people of Germany believe that all of their problems were caused by Jews. That made Germans able to justify the horrible treatment Jews were subjected to including murder, torture, and genicide.

If Fox thinks I’m calling them names, they are right. What real news organization would slant their coverage to show only one side of an issue? They claim the other media outlets favor liberals, but news organizations like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, generally report things fairly.

  83. Raymond Funamoto says:

WELL DONE, JOHN EDWARDS, HILLARY, BARACK!!!! WAY TO GO, GUYS!!!!!

  84. Bobbi says:

Hillary is so toast. How long did her team calculate what time to also pull out? They are pathetic. GO OBAMA!

  85. Zooey says:

    Yay! Hillary pulled out, too!

  86. George says:

    Perfect.

Probably. It does seem pretty obvious. I don’t care, at least she pulled out.

I’m not voting for her either way.

  88. Raven says:

  89. JPark says:

#15 Heh, you think that Bush won the debates in 2004, don’t you? By the way, the answer you give also coincides with the question, “Are you retarded?”

  90. JPark says:

    #82 LOL, Hillary pulled out.

  91. JPark says:

#85 Then I am so confused as to why Hendler thinks we are all Hillarites. Wait, never mind, it is because he is kinda dumb.

And by the way retard it’s spelled “Heston”. Get out of the trailer, quit screwing your sister and get you some education boy!

  95. Stay out of the Bushes says:

Thank God! This is great news!

To anyone who thinks that this isn’t, the proof is in the voting demographics. Fox News watchers vote Republican more than any other group EXCEPT for Republicans. There could be NO good coming from Democrats giving any legitimacy to the Republican/fascist news network that masquerades as “fair and balanced”.

Hilary, of course, did not lead. But what did we really expect? At least she bowed out after the true leaders (Edwards and Obama) had taken the courageous first step.

  96. JPark says:

#92 Shhh, some people might think we aren’t a mouthpiece for Hillary!!!

  100. JPark says:

#96 Unfortunately, I would. If she were the Dem nominee I would vote for her. Yeah, she is a triangulating right of center schill but at least she is not a triangulating right-wing schill. I would hold my nose though.

  101. ForTruth says:

Alright, I wouldn’t vote for Hillary in the primaries. No double-freaks, just singular freaks.

  102. JPark says:

Me, too. I’d vote for him twice. :D

  104. JPark says:

#100 I have!!! Well, in two different elections. :)

  105. ManipulationNation says:

To some, it may appear weak for Democratic candidates not to be willing to appear in a debate on Fox “News.” However, it is much, much weaker, to me, for a mega-company like Fox to hide behind lies like “fair and balanced” to try to make it appear legitimate. Fox wants to use a debate to further its political aim of generating as many votes for the Republican party as possible by helping them look good and making Democrats look bad. It does that by duping people into thinking that they provide news from an unbiased perspective. However, its lies mean that even with billions of dollars behind it, its positions are too weak to stand on their own merits. And Fox, as an organization, is simply too weak to stand up for honest positions and instead serves as an obsequious appendage of the Republican party.

  106. JPark says:

#102 Some say Democrats are weak for not going on Fox. Others are too smart to buy that crap.

  107. Zooey says:

#100 I have!!! Well, in two different elections. :)

    Show off…..

Since I live in this god-forsaken red state, I haven’t voted for a single winning candidate for over 10 years — except on the local level.

  108. Marie says:

Without those three how can there be a Democratic debate?
Good for them — let Fox lose the program.
    Obama is getting my vote.

  109. JPark says:

#104 I truly feel sorry for you. I have had Dem Sens for the last 12 years and I was “redistricted” Tammy Baldwin’s (nice liberal lesbian) district 3 years ago. It is nice living in one of the most liberal districts in the country (Madison area).

  110. JPark says:

#105 Obama was pretty slow on the uptake. I will take Edwards.

  111. Zooey says:

  113. JPark says:

I know about Larry Craig. He needs to stop sucking hind tit and develope into a real man.

  114. CONservative says:

I would think that if one is cheering on a candidate they would be able to elaborate intelligently why?

    Comment by michael

This coming from someone with absolutely ZERO ability to elaborate. Heck, I’m shocked he can even SPELL elaborate!! Of course, if he hasn’t gone running to mommy already he’ll respond with a question instead of actually trying to make a point, because he knows he doesn’t have one.

  115. Christine says:

I applaud Barack for following the lead of Sen. Edwards who stepped up first by turning away this debate invitation. And now Sen. Clinton has joined in this stance too. Lets thank John Edwards for making bold moves and standing up to the Fake News.

  116. trippin says:

There is an old adage: “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and annoys the pig.” I think that explains the Democrats’ decision succinctly.

Faux should be frozen out of anything that can give them the illusion of being fair. It’s already 80% zipperheads — make it 100% to remove all doubt.

The whole right wing media empire is about to implode. Reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine in 2009 will put the final nail in the coffin.

  117. Glenda Maria says:

“19.Hey Republican trolls, you know who you are, I’ll hug your elephant when you kiss my ass.”

I’ll kiss your ass if you’ll move your nose over.
