also seen the new claims US accused of using neutron bombs
The former commander of Iraq’s Republican Guard has accused the US of using non-conventional weapons in its war against the Middle East country.
Saifeddin Fulayh Hassan Taha al-Rawi told Al Jazeera that US forces used neutron and phosphorus bombs during their assault on Baghdad airport before the April 9 capture of the Iraqi capital.
The enemy used neutron and phosphorus weapons against Baghdad airport… there were bodies burnt to their bones,” he said.
The bombs annihilated soldiers but left the buildings and infrastructure at the airport intact, he added.
A neutron bomb is a thermonuclear weapon that produces minimal blast and heat but releases large amounts of lethal radiation that can penetrate armour and is especially destructive to human tissue.
Cost Of Iraq War Filters Down To States And Cities
The cost of the Iraq war is filtering down to state and local budgets, forcing cuts in transportation funding, Medicaid, education and other federally subsidized programs, according to analysts and lawmakers.
“These are funds that we aren’t going to receive. Low Energy Assistance Program, $9.8 million, gone. Head Start, $3.7 million, gone. Child Care and Development Block Grant, $1.1 million. Community Development Block Grant, $13.5 million. Special Ed, $8.8 million,” House Majority Leader Alice Madden, D-Boulder, said during a debate Thursday over a state resolution opposing the escalation of the war in Iraq.
“Also, we’re not going to get the Criminal Alien Assistance Program to house criminal aliens, $5 million that was promised and now isn’t coming,” Madden said. “This is why it’s important to take a stand. The more money that’s spent over there means our citizens in this state aren’t going to get services they need.”
The safety and security of the occupied people is the sole responsibility of the occupying force. Failure to provide that is a war crime.
We are responsible for every unnatural Iraqi death irrespective of who took that life. We have failed to provide for their safety and security and continue to refuse to get out of the way and allow someone else to take over and save these people.

You do realize we’re in Iraq and not Saudi Arabia.
There is a reason why these nitwits keep conflating Iraq with the 9-11 attack. Their cult leaders keep repeating the myth and as cult members, they must take what their leaders say at face value. Any questioning would not be looked upon favorably by other cult members.
I could have sworn I saw some Bush supporters around here claiming the “surge” would cut down on this kind of thing. U.S. daily casulties are up as well. When will just one Bush cultist step up and admit the obvious: the “surge” was simply another pile of b.s. heaped on all of us by the bullshitter in chief.
I wish Bill Richardson would consider being someone’s running mate as VP. He’s awsome, but I don’t think he can get the nomination. He brings tremendous talent and experience to any ticket and he also brings a huge latino vote. When latinos hear Richardson on a Spanish language station, they know they’re listening to someone who speaks the language fluently.
Thank you, CDWF…..
[I was (honestly) unclear about the rosy identities.....]
Thanks as well for being a supporter of Governor Bill.
He has done excellent work here in the Land of Enchantment, and as well may be the most respected diplomat abroad the US has.
I’m uncertain about his chances this time around for President, however he would make an ideal VP, or Secretary of State in the very least.
The United States is going to need some very talented people in the next decade to heal the greivous wounds caused by the butchers currently residing in and around the white house.
Seems to be the pattern, a candidate has to run for the top job to make a showing, and then hopefully be picked as a running mate.
Richardson’s name came up in 2004 as a possible VP for Kerry, he has greater recognition and accomplishments now……..
Raven – I’ve been watching Richardson since 2004. I wrote to him and told him that if ran for president, I would work his campaign. Here in PA, his campaign is quite. I’ve volunteered at his website… just waiting to hear more. The Obama campaign has taken off here in PA and I would like to get something started for Richardson.

Please, that tired old “the Democrats want to wave the white flag” garbage you spew is worn out. Fact is, this is nothing more than an illegal occupation. The Iraqis want us out. The protest today proved that even more so. But you and the rest of the Bush apologists will just continue to spew the Hannity, Limpbaugh,Cheney and Bush talking points hoping something sticks.

Gee, but those persian rugs were only $1 — why don’t they report that good news?
Ten Americans over the weekend. 25 Iraqis today. But things are looking better, right? Yeah, right.
Nothing displays a conservative troll’s historical ignorance more than the “good thing liberals weren’t in charge during WWII” rant. We had a Democratic majority in congress. We had FDR, their favorite liberal boogieman as Commander-in-chief followed by “let’s give Medicare to every American” Harry Truman… The only Americans who wanted to cower in the corner were the republicans.

Per George Wl Bush things in Iraq are going good and we’ve made progress. All the Iraq people want us to stay and give money to help their country. McCain wants to walk in the market to buy goods as it is now safe to take a stroll without protection. ( It’s a joke, or fun) Don’t believe you saw 1/2 Million Iraq people marching for the US got get out, or the fact that now Al Sadr asked that only US troops be killed. I noticed the the Iraq military joined in the March for the US to get out. While Maliki tell Japan the Iraq people are one yet back in Iraq the people call out for their leader Al Sadr not Bush’s appointed President Maliki. Halliburton is finishing up work in Iran yes the same Iran that Bush called the Axis of Evil. Homeland Security/Bush ordered no American company could do business with Iran.
Now we learn the only company that has US Contrats has been doing business with Iran for the pass 6 years with the White House approval. Cheney is a great CEO as he played the American people for fools.
WW11 cannot be a argument in todays war about surrendering, WW11 was a just war
As where Iraq was a war based on Lies to steal Oil
All future wars are in Americas interest only – look at the mess in Somalia now – so long as America is at the top Its interest is to keep other countries in the stoneage ???? end of story
Time for a change America You cannot continue down this wreckless path
#43 & 63. You are comparing apples to oranges (Iraq vs. WW II) which is not an accurate comparison to make. The historical differences between the situations of both WW II and Iraq are grossly different. WW II a great deal of the “free world” had been taken over and occupied by the Axis forces of Germany, Japan, and to a lesser extent Italy. In the case of Iraq, we (the US) decided to unilaterally invade and then occupy a country that did not attack us (as did Japan during WW II) and followed by Germany’s declaration of war upon us the next day. German U-boats were also invading US territorial waters and landing German operatives to commit acts of sabotage on territorial US land.
To equate the combined Allied force military operations against the Axis forces is ridiculous at the least and intellectually dishonest at the best. There were also nationals who were being systematically taken prisoner and sent off to either work camps or death camps — and not just those of Jewish descent. It also included gypsies, homosexuals, trade unionists, and the disabled.
It is important when making comparisons that the circumstances be nearly equal in order to make a valid comparison. Your comparison of WW II to the situation in Iraq in no way comes even close to being nearly equal.
It is really no wonder that Iraq’s in the tens of thousands are
protesting our presence in Iraq, labeling it an occupation. We’ve
acted as there were only one solution to the terrorism problem, war.
It has become increasingly clear, however, as we approach another year
of war and wasted lives, that our efforts have not eliminated
terrorists. Our military presence and lack of attention to helping
people out of poverty fuels the anti-American flames abroad and in
Iraq. If we were to address terrorism at its roots, poverty; it would
be possible to reduce the number of lives lost, save money, and live
up to the reputation of world leader.
But your not looking at the good!!!
At least these people won’t have to starve to death……

April 9th, 2007 at 11:41 pmPer George Wl Bush things in Iraq are going good and we’ve made progress.
April 9th, 2007 at 11:47 pmNow we learn the only company that has US Contrats has been doing business with Iran for the pass 6 years with the White House approval. Cheney is a great CEO as he played the American people for fools.

April 10th, 2007 at 4:21 amTimes are changing
WW11 cannot be a argument in todays war about surrendering, WW11 was a just war
As where Iraq was a war based on Lies to steal Oil
All future wars are in Americas interest only – look at the mess in Somalia now – so long as America is at the top Its interest is to keep other countries in the stoneage ???? end of story
Time for a change America You cannot continue down this wreckless path

April 10th, 2007 at 6:35 am#43 & 63.
April 10th, 2007 at 8:42 amOn the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the fall of Baghdad, go see The Prisoner or How I Planned to Kill Tony Blair.
It would be funny if it wasn’t true.

April 10th, 2007 at 10:07 amIt is really no wonder that Iraq’s in the tens of thousands are
April 10th, 2007 at 1:21 pmprotesting our presence in Iraq, labeling it an occupation. We’ve
acted as there were only one solution to the terrorism problem, war.
