Percentage of Americans who believe that Karl Rove and other top White House officials should testify under oath about the U.S. Attorney scandal, according to a new LA Times/Bloomberg poll. “Even among Republicans, 49% said the aides should testify; 43% said they should not.” A majority also believes Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should resign.
UPDATE: Asked whether Bush should accept or veto Iraq legislation that included a timetable, “48% said he should sign such a measure while 43% said he should reject it.”
Rove and crew, get your asses to the hearing and start lying through your teeth — under oath.
We all know you don’t know any other way to act.
April 10th, 2007 at 7:52 pmThe bad news just keeps rolling in for GDumbya but he can at least be happy about one thing today — he’s not Don Imus.
April 10th, 2007 at 7:54 pmRove & Co. would be smart to testify, and encourage Gonzales to resign. Once they do that, this story goes away. Until they do that, Gonzo is another millstone around the neck of the republican party. Americans have short attention spans and when election time comes around no one is going to care when Rush starts screaming about Sandy Berger. The word “republican” has become synonomous with “corruption”.
April 10th, 2007 at 8:01 pmRepublicans shouldn’t be held up to the law. They should be the ones who make the law for the Dems to follow. It should be illegal for a Republican to be indicted.

You’re entitled to your polls, I am entitled to my own reality.

April 10th, 2007 at 8:06 pmI wonder what percentage of Americans want to see Karla Rove as a prison bride?
Just the ceremony. I don’t think anybody really wants to see that honeymoon.
April 10th, 2007 at 8:16 pmOnce they do that, this story goes away.
This story is definitely not going away, short of a major purge and a mea culpa directly from the president that they screwed. We all know that that’s not going to happen. Which is why this is the story that won’t die, and for a variety of reasons:
a) It’s a national story, not just a DC thing – as we see with the latest developements out of Wisconsin where an appellate court dominated by GOP-appointees threw out a conviction because it was obviously flimsy and policitcally motivated. How many other cases like this one are out there? I’m betting more than a few. Which means that local media all over the country get to participate.
b) In subverting a long-held Senatorial prerogative – the ability to nominate local US Attorneys – the administration took away a very valuable perk of office from all senators. The GOP senators went along with it at first, but how many voted to take back their perk last month? All but one, I think. That tells you a lot right there. This whole thing stinks on a variety of levels, which is why support for Abu G on the hill is non-existent. Everyone is pist.
c) The democrats can smell criminal wrongdoing, with Karl Rove at the center of it all. You think Pat Leahy is going to stop until the truth come out? Not gonna happen.
We’re going to be watching this one through the summer at the very least.
April 10th, 2007 at 8:17 pmOnly timetable Bush abides by: In 650 days , he gets to ride his bike anytime he wants.
April 10th, 2007 at 8:19 pm“Republicans shouldn’t be held up to the law. They should be the ones who make the law for the Dems to follow. It should be illegal for a Republican to be indicted.”
Sounds like somebodys been tapping Cheney’s phone.
April 10th, 2007 at 8:23 pmCheney would be a blushing prison bride.
I wouldn’t want to see that honeymoon either.
He would probably have a heart attack and drop dead.
April 10th, 2007 at 8:24 pmSo when will NBC’s Whitehouse shill Andrea “Greenspin” Mitchell state that the polls prove that America wants the mean Democrats to leave Alberto Gonzales and Karl Rove alone!

April 10th, 2007 at 8:53 pmUnfortunately, this opinion poll is meaningless in Rove’s mind. As we all know, we are entitled to our math while Rove is entitled to the math.
Although I find it interesting that even among Republicans support for Pres Bush, his cronies, and their shenanigans seems to be eroding.
April 10th, 2007 at 9:02 pmFROG-MARCH THE FAT-F*CK Rove TO THE HEARINGS AND MAKE HIM “SQUEAL LIKE A PIG,” SQUEAL AND HOLLER LIKE THE EPICINE, COWARDLY SWINE HE IS!!!! NOTHING LIKE A PIG IN A POKE, EH???? THIS PIG Rove SHOULD BE PRODDED WITH SHARP SPEARS UNTIL HE STARTS TO SPILL THE BEANS OR HIS GUTS, OR THE BEANS IN HIS GUTS—WE’RE EASY!!!!!
April 10th, 2007 at 9:06 pmYeah, no-one knows Karl Rove for sure. Uhhh huh.
April 10th, 2007 at 9:15 pmLies, Damn Lies & Statistics.
April 10th, 2007 at 9:39 pmPeople are increasingly eager to learn the truth. The rise in approval ratings for the congress is certainly due to the number of investigations and hearings on important matters.
April 10th, 2007 at 9:57 pmRaymond – would you please use lower case when posting. It’s difficult to read sentences that are typed in all upper case letters. Thanks… much appreciated.
April 10th, 2007 at 10:32 pm#16 So, doubting Thomas. You have reason to believe it isn’t the truth or are you just trying to throw up sand?
