Abramoff may receive reduced prison sentence.

“Disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff may be getting out of jail earlier than he expected, NBC News learned on Monday. A federal judge Monday granted the government’s request for a new hearing to determine an appropriate reduction in Abramoff’s sentence, a reward based on his continued cooperation with investigators in several federal probes.”

Let’s see some more indictments first……..

  2. Raymond Funamoto says:

Abramoff SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN ANY LENIECY UNTIL HE SPITS OUT THE SPECIFIC DOPE THAT CONVICTS Karl Rove, CHIMPya, Cheney, Bushland Uber Allies and MORE repugnant-repubs IN CONGRESS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN CHARGED YET—START COUGHING UP MORE RESULTS, Jack, IF YA WANT ANY REDUCTION IN YA JAIL TIME!!!!!

  3. Zooey says:

    Raven,

You and I are so often on the same track! :D

I’d like to see some evidence of that cooperation, please.

  4. kindness says:

Maybe in re-hearing the case they could give him a LONGER sentance.

Yo, Judge….Could you make him take dumbya & Rove too? They’d be natural jailhouse BFF’s.

  5. Raven says:

    Yes, Raymond too. Such eloquence!

  6. Xbot says:

    Squeal, pig, squeal.

  7. veritas says:

…..whoa, nelly! Not until Abrahamoff spills ALL! I think it’s totally premature to even begin dialogue on sentence reduction since this guy has much, much more to disclose. Let him sing his entire song (I know the Rethugs shudder at that thought)….and then talk turkey.

  8. veritas says:

Couldn’t agree more that Abrahamoff needs to spill the entire story about the Bush Cabal before the people will even consider allowing him off the hook. Remember Dubya saying how he didn’t even know Abrahamoff? What a joke!

  9. TC says:

Me thinks Gonzo’s team from Pat Robertson U is tanking the case, like the tobacco settlement. I doubt anyone else will be indicted or convicted by this justice department.

  10. nogamez says:

Why is it “disgraced lobbyist” and not convicted felon Jack Abramoff?

Or at least disgraced REPUBLICAN lobbyist?

  11. GSD says:

Hmmm…The newly minted “soft on Republican Crime” Justice Dept. must be gearing up and rolling out their new directives.

That’s a good point. I have never heard of a “disgraced drug dealer” or “disgraced rapists”. The rhetoric of the words we use says more than the words themselves. For this same reason, I have stopped using the phrase “Iraq War” replacing it instaed with “Iraq Occupation”.

  13. hil says:

dont cut that bastard loose untill the head of Karl the turd blossom Rove is served up on a silver platter… with all the fixins

    ITMFA!!!

  14. DM says:

Until we hear about the White House favors, we’re not really getting cooperation.

  15. shane says:

Who said crime doesn’t pay. White collar crime pays a lot. And if you get caught PROSECUTORS work to get your sentenced reduced.

  16. GO says:

Awww how sweet. If only all the other criminals could be as lucky to get a reduced sentence.

  17. eve says:

I am hopeful that this means Abramoff has offered Rove and Delay on a silver platter.

I am not optimistic that he had much to say about Cheney.

  18. Raven says:

    I agree with posts 10 and 12………
He should be called simply what he is: a convicted lobbyist

  19. tarazan says:

Abramoff…’The man who knew too much…’

  20. Shawn says:

Part of his original, reduced sentence was this cooperation. NOW he is rewarded AGAIN for participating in that original agreement? Does anybody else (maybe somebody that can explain this more clearly than I can) feel a bit pissed off with this?

Can we start rewarding jailed drug dealers with reduced sentences since they are no longer dealing inside prison?

  21. Lily says:

#17, eve Ditto. Let’s wait and see what his cooperation results in before complaining about the resuced sentence. This could be a good thing.

  22. Jay Randal says:

Why should be receive a reduced sentance? He has NOT spilled all the beans on Bush yet.

  23. Raven says:

Maybe he’s getting out on a work release program to the various Native American casinos he took so much money from…
He can clean the … lobby…

  24. Lily says:

My point Jay, is how do we know he hasn’t?

  25. Chocolate Jesus says:

dude… where are the emails he wrote to gwb43.com?…sound like we should be able to procure some smoking guns there.. i notice an abscense of trolls on this one..
