Breaking: Missing Justice Dept. documents subpoenaed.»

MSNBC reports that the House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed the Justice Department for a series of additional documents, revealed last week by The American Spectator, that have not been turned over to Congress.

msnbc041007123846.jpg

UPDATE: Several senators sent a letter yesterday to Alberto Gonzales requesting these documents:

Justice Department officials have previously said they turned over all relevant materials, but held back sensitive personnel information about most prosecutors other than those who were removed last year.

Among the missing documents the senators mentioned was a chart cited in a Feb. 12, 2007, e-mail message from Monica Goodling, a former aide to Mr. Gonzales, to other department officials.

The senators suggested that other documents had been withheld, like biographies of each of the 93 prosecutors in briefing books provided for Mr. Gonzales in December in preparation for a meeting of United States attorneys. The meeting was held to start an initiative against child exploitation.

UPDATE II: You can read the full subpoena HERE. Christy Hardin Smith explains exactly what House Judiciary Committee is requesting.

If Fredo wants to ignore the subpoena, then isn’t he also responsible for enforcing the subpoena law? Can, and would, Fredo arrest himself? I have an image of Cleavon Little in “Blazing Saddles” holding himself hostage with his own gun.

  14. Fred Says:

Think of it this way, as long a gonzo holds on, nothing gets accomplished in the gonzo department and the administration is constantly playing defense.

a few more of these and bush is locked down fr the remainder of his term.

not the best option but it’s better than the previous status quo

I agree. That moonbat bush is going to have to let gonzo go soon.

It only proves that he lsitens to the water carrier, drug addict and racist hypocrite Lush Rimjob. Moonbat is just another stupid elementary school codeword spoken by a grown man and his pathetic simple minded followers.

The intelligence of the Lush Rimjob crowd is astounding. Have you ever heard of recycled paper? You can buy it buy the boxload. Being a conservatibe you should know this, right?

You know, RedNeck has a point. If republicans would stop breaking the law, we wouldn’t need to kill so many trees. Honest republicans would be good for the environment.

  28. John Gilpins Says:

ALBERTO VO5, and too many people in the Bush administration, are FLAKES, FLAKES, FLAKES, FLAKES.

The Bushies wouldn’t have FLAKES, FLAKES, FLAKES, FLAKES if they used BRECK SHAMPOO.

Remember when many of the Bushie FLAKES were calling John Edwards: The Breck Girl.

Give me a break! Give me a break!

Let’s face facts: ALBERTO VO5 Shampoo is useless to wash FLAKES out of your hair. It just won’t remove all of the dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, and more dirt.

Alberto, quit your job. Almost every day more dirt is coming to the surface. Washing all of this dirt away is an impossible job. Gee, “impossible” and “job” are in the same sentence, too.

I can just imagine ALBERTO VO5 saying: “I’m going to wash these eight attorneys right out of my hair.

ALBERTO VO5, you should have used Breck Shampoo. You used ALBERTO VO5 Shampoo to wash these eight attorneys right out of your hair, and look at this dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty mess.

Unfortunately, Colbert is nailing it too well—sorry to say, he has gotten to the point of being as annoying and unwatchable as those he is parodying. Fortunately, Stewart has yet to become tiresome.

That’s all Americans really want to hear, Al.

So…’spend more time with the family’, ‘moving on to private practice,’ ‘accomplished so much, would like to leave something to do for my successor’, ‘have changed parties & am suing the President’, etc., all would be good practice, Al.

I wouldn’t wish this guy on the general public. How about community service as a defender of all the Republican public servants from the Bush administration? That way, everyone gets what they deserve.

  34. Noella Smackbottom Says:

Dang, ‘Berto, where are you gonna find enough laborers to help you haul this much paperwork up Capitol Hill?

    At Home Depot.

Jeff Gannon probably said the same thing and look what happened to his hair.

Jeff Gannon not only lost his job but his hair, too.

I’m afraid the same thing may happen to Alberto VO5. Poor guy!

Losing your job is one thing but losing your hair is quite another.

Alberto VO5 better quit his job before he loses his hair, too.

    John

    HOME DEPOT you say.

    Hmmmmmmmmm!

    HOME DEPOT is the place.

Of course jail is the place, too.

Home Depot, and jail, have an abundance of single toilets, bars, and locks.

ARROGANCE IS PUNISHED, AND SOON IT WILL BE CHIMPya, FRANKENCheney, Rice , Rove and OTHER Bushland Uber Allies WAR CRIMINALS’ TURN!!!!!

  43. John Gilpins Says:

    Zooey,

I bet Alberto doesn’t even know how to spell subpoena.

No doubt Monica Goodling spells subpoena: suepeena.

I read an article about this law school founded by Pat Robertson. I think the Boston Globe was the source of the article. In past years, many of the graduates couldn’t even pass the bar exams.

The article mentioned the absurdity of Monica Goodling have such power and authority with such inferior credentials. Apparently, the Bush administration has hired quite a few of these law graduates.

One of the personnel directors is a graduate of this marginal law school, and she makes sure Harvard, Princeton, and Yale graduates aren’t at the front of the employment line.

No wonder so many officials in the Bush administration are so incompetent. Their educational credentials are second-rate, and they lack experience.

By the time the Democrats have had a little fun, all of them will know how to spell subpoena.

    John

  44. Zooey Says:

    John,

The fundies in this town have their own “college.” I think it’s four years, and you get a little diploma, and everything. Problem is, they charge these kids a fortune to attend (they don’t get financial aid), and it’s not worth the ink and paper the diploma’s written on. It’s totally sick.

  45. John Gilpins Says:

    Zooey,

If this school is not an accredited college, then the diploma is worthless.

What’s amazing today is the cost of a four-year education at a private college or university. Tuition and dorm costs are unreal.

    John

  46. Zooey Says:

    John,

No way! It’s not accredited. It means nothing, except in thier tiny christian heads. Just wait until they go out into the big, bad world and display that diploma. I’d feel sorry for them, but they must know what they’re getting into.

College is sooooo expensive. There are so many kids that attend U of I from out of state. Why? Because paying tuition and out of state fees here is cheaper than attending college in their own state. Amazing, huh? It’s the only time I’ve felt lucky to live in Idaho. Oy.

    ……How the U.S. military would remove Bush-Cheney

There’s a term for when the military replaces its Commander-In-Chief - coup d’etat — but, there are lesser practical steps that have been taken by Pentagon brass several times in modern American history to deal with Presidents viewed as incompetent to carry out their duties as CIC.

Here’s how it works in practice.

  48. John S Says:

What’s amusing about this (in a very cynical way) is the topic of the meeting for which the missing biographies were prepared. It was an initiative against child exploitation. However, it comes from the same DoJ that declined to prosecute systematic child sex abuse in juvenile detention facilities in Texas because they weren’t being “physically injured” and were “not suffering pain”. Hmmm. Child sexual exploitation is OK if its done by Republicans in power?
