People in the Sun
Believe me: I can understand how your heart must have sunk when you saw your own words distorted. I myself am simply no longer that shocked by how low the neoCON scum will sink. (I'm refraining from using the term "Republiscum" sometimes seen on this blog, as my late stepfather was Republican. Actually, I'm quite sure he would no longer be registered in that party any more, for many reasons, such as its current anti-science stance, its pandering to the religious wrong, etc.)
You may also be quite right in writing , "that’s probably not the worst thing Cantor did that day." Sad, isn't it?

Lora, I stand corrected. Honestly, I was shocked when I saw they did that, but after a while you think, that's probably not the worst thing Cantor did that day.

B-Nugget, she was in a mosque. I think we all may have missed that part of the whole head-scarf-ogate. It's like the Pope going to Israel and wearing a yarmulke near the Wailing Wall. It's not weakness, it's respect.

I was a Marine in Iraq from '04 to '05 and the Syrians were a problem. In fact, they wounded a lot of our guys. It is no secret that they were coming in, we had to shift a number of our forces to the North-Western region of Iraq to stop them coming in. One of the hot spots was in Haditha where they were smuggling in small arms and IED materials. My friends who were in Fallujah said Syrians were present there as well, but there were people from other countries too like Chechnya. I disagree with Pelosi and the Republicans for going to Syria, because Syria has long produced much of the chaos in Lebanon. Lebanon is such a unique country for the Middle-East and I hope Syria will leave it alone and let it prosper. Nonetheless, if Pelosi does manage to persuade Assad to peace, then good for her, but I doubt anything will come of it. One more thing, Pelosi covering her head was ridiculous. That is a sign of oppression for women and she knowingly or unknowingly stooped herself down in that little episode. If she goes to Iran I hope she does not repeat that, but instead goes as a free, proud, strong American woman and demonstrates greatness as a female leader and not cowering to Islamic crap.

For me, the disappearing posts is not the biggest issue. I find it personally offensive and unethical that he altered my post to fit his sleazy message. Pretty shocking, really.
Comment by People in the Sun

I agree with you except for your last line. Altering the post to change the message to his is definitely worse than deleting it altogether.
But "shocking" coming from neoCON-scum? Not really.

Here is a post of mine that didn't make it. I guess it cut a little close to the bone:

Enter Bush Crime Family in your search enigne. I got over 5 millions hits. The Bush family is all about war profitteering, drug running and oil. Cheney, Condoleza and GWB all have more years in experience in the gas and oil industries than they do in public service. And here we are, "promoting Democracy" in Iraq, a nation with the 3rd largest supply of oil on the planet, and with some of the sweetest, most readily profitable crude oil around.

Wake up you dumb a.. numbsculls who still support this regime! They are sending our sons and daughters to die for their profits! Do the reserch yourself and quit getting spoon fed BS by these corporate backed psudo authoritiarin liars! How many more soldiers have to die to protect your misguided integrity.

Pelosi was right to travel to talk to Syria. It's called diplomacy, something we have got from this all-hat-and-no-steer phoney cowboy you call your president.

Support the troops, end the ongoing lie, the war in Iraq is about oil.

Cantor has created a "distraction" campaign designed to focus attention away from all the White House screw-ups.

Nancy Pelosi showed the guts necessary to be a leader in government: She began a dialogue with Syria.

What Iran’s president said about Isreal has also been MODERATED by the 6 companies that own in excess of 90 % of all print , radio and TV in the US ,and is also also becoming obvious to the American people .

I think "mistranslated" is a better word, quite smoothly and intentionally, by the slick propaganda machine of the Zionist media. A more accurate translation of what he said in Arabic was that the "Zionist regime will be erased from the pages of history".

Its called "sh1t talking", world leaders do it all the time, and frankly, the guy doesnt have alot of real power in Iran compared to more behind the scenes power brokers. Anyone who knows much about the power structure of that country understands that.

Ha. Check out the Mighty Hermaphrodite Meth Addict Imaginary Military Lawyer Wannabee posting on Cantor's webpage. I wonder what name (s)he's hiding under here...

Love Letter to Cantor on his blog site:

Your fellow REPUBLICANS, during the SAME WEEK, all met with Assad: Reps. Frank Wolf, Joseph Pitts, Robert Aderholt, David Hobson, and Darrell Issa.

From what I read here-besides you, of course-there are just a couple people stupid enough to ignore these facts. Stupid enough to ignore her delivering a message from Israel. Stupid enough, of course, to ignore ALL the facts which overwhelmingly show the absolute FAILURE of bush’s “policies” in Iraq and the Middle East.

Your blog has become a pivot point for folks giving donations to Virginia Democratic Party http://www.vademocrats.org/. Thank you so much for your ignorant and transparently false, politically motivated “smearing points.” Looking forward to 2008, another member of the 70% majority.

The difference is that unlike the Republicans mentioned, Pelosi (and Kerry) make these trips in order to undermine the President’s foreign policy, not to support it.

Just like Jimmah Cartah.

Uh? Bush has a foreign policy? Why, that's like claiming Bush has read a book. The question there is, did he color the pictures before or after reading it?

Then those Republicans who accompanied her should be ripping her apart. But they aren't, are they, Ringo?

I thought the way liberals were whining that the only comments on Rep Cantor’s site were glowing and positive. Comment by valiant venus — April 10, 2007 @ 7:27 pm

BAHAHAA, that's so FUNNY, considering how WHINING Cantor and YOUR comments always are! Project much? You st*pid little c*nt?

There were plenty of negative comments - but as many vulgarians here aren’t clear about acceptable discourse….a reason may have existed for your deletions. Tooodles…. Comment by valiant venus — April 10, 2007 @ 7:27 pm

Negative comments like yours are always the most funny! You actually post dead baby jokes, call for mass murder, and think others are *vulgarians*, simply because they call you a st*pid c*nt for your hate speech.

Toodles, indeed, because that's all you are st*pid c*nt, a useless pile of Toodles.

When you *learn* what acceptable discourse is, you'll learn why you've been a st*pid c*nt your whole life. None of us will hold our breaths until that fateful day! After all, it's rare a st*pid c*nt republican ever recovers from the mental illness known as conservatism. Someone like you is best to simply sideline, marginalize and ignore as yet another dinosaur victim of fascism's lure of the braindead.

Cantor doesn’t smear. Nothing he said was factually incorrect. Speaker Pelosi’s trip was a disaster for American foreign policy. She was there to demonstrate her own power–not to investigate for congress. Comment by Dems are the party of fear and stupidity — April 10, 2007 @ 8:58 pm

So you defend the smears, by posting your own. What a dum bass.

The republicans that went with her should be equally lampooned. Unfortunately, it seems these republicans were Pelosi’s equivalent of SP’s “operation get behind the darkies.” Comment by Dems are the party of fear and stupidity — April 10, 2007 @ 8:58 pm

Equally lampooned? They weren't even mentioned, except by democrats. What a racist comment, you're a st*pid idi*t.

Why don't you get behind Bush, and give him another reach around Foley.

#234 Vermin Venus' inability to comprehend the complaints of posters here who had their very civil criticism of Rep. Cantor removed from his blog doesn't surprise me. It also inspired me finally to take a look at the ones Cantor's moderator decided to leave on, and here's what I found from our own resident troll, VV, still posting under her former TP moniker, mighty hypocrite (er. aphrodite):

Thank you, Rep Cantor!! Never known for their intestinal fortitude, liberals and socialist progressives would have us abandon our ally, Israel. It’sa interesting the only religion most on the Left seem to defend is the “Religion of Peace” AKA: Islam……The recommendation of the Iraq Study group did NOT instruct Speaker Pelosi, known for her outspoken opposition to anything the Bush administration touts, to go and mangle foreign policy."
