Scandal-plagued Gov. Jim Gibbons (R-NV)

Scandal-plagued Gov. Jim Gibbons (R-NV)

has a conspiracy theory: “Gibbons said Monday he’s heard a rumor that Democrats paid the Wall Street Journal to publish stories about his relations with a defense contractor and that the coverage is designed to help Democrats in the 2008 election. Asked about rumors of a conspiracy among Democrats against him, Gibbons said he heard the same thing but did not name a source.”

It’s all Clinton’s fault, I’m sure. (sarcasm off)

  2. DM says:

Are you saying that if they weren’t Democrats they wouldn’t have published the truth?

    I’ll buy that.

  3. Nick says:

As to the source? “I’d tell you, but then I’d have to kill you…”

  4. Rocks911 says:

Oooooh, a whispering campaign based on rumors from unnamed sources about things the Democrats may be doing. How pathetic.

  5. GSD says:

Whoo…….The Kool-Aid must be strong in Nevada. The last I checked the Wall St. Journal is about as conservative an establishment media outlet can be.

Keep on sipping away Jimmy Boy.

P.S. Stop attacking drunken waitresses in the parking garage.

    -GSD

  6. WaltTheMan says:

Gov. Jim Gibbons has done more to help Democrats in the 2008 election than the media.

  7. helenahandbasket says:

Help, the paranoids are after me.

  8. nffcnnr says:

Nice work, Gibbons! i had not heard of the contract malfeascence allegations until now. Thanks for bringing it to my attention with your rediculous accusations. ;0] And all this time, i thought you were just some drunken two-bit waitress groper. Now it seems you’re a drunken, paranoid, corrupt, influence peddler, too. Stay classy, and keep us updated!

  9. VerbalKint says:

I think we need Patrick Moonbat to explain this one to us, because it is off the charts bizarre. The WSJ collude with Democrats?!?! Obviously Gibbons thinks that the 30 percenters backing him are too stupid to recognize the absurdity of it.

  10. Spudd says:

  11. Mr. Bush Goes To Hell says:

    The WSJ licks Bush’s ballz…

WHY would they print an article unfavorable to a Rapeublican???

    For a BRIBE????

    Another GHP member.

    Grand HYPOCRISY Party…

  12. Peter says:

The truth is just a Democratic Party tool designed to attack your average Republican. Anyone who uses the truth is merely a crass political hack.

    Snark off/

  13. S.D. says:

Yeah, cause the WSJ is Such a bastions for the Democrats.

  14. Raymond Funamoto says:

I SEE THAT Gibbons IS SCROUNGING AROUND FOR SOME EDIBLE TIDBITS OF SWIFT-BOAT-SHIT-SMEARING LIKE HIS LATE COUNTERPART Euell Theophilus Gibbons, BUT WHEREAS Euell WAS A RENOWNED OUTDOORSMAN AND NATURAL FOODS SURVIVALIST, repugnant-repub Jim IS A LIAR, A HYPOCRITE, A THIEF AND A CROOK(OH MY IS THAT REDUNDANT?) AND MANY OTHER THINGS I HESITATE TO MENTION IN MIXED COMPANY—SO MUCH FOR Jim Gibbons, ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT BRIBE-TAKING SCOUNDRELS EVER TO DARKEN THE DOOR OF POLITICS IN NEVADA–Jim Gibbons IS TOAST, AND CHARCOAL-BLACKENED TOAST AT THAT!!!! HAH!!!!!

  15. Clyde the Ripper says:

“Gibbons said he heard the same thing but did not name a source.”

Gibbons talks to himself a lot.

  16. cage free brown says:

    shoot. why shouldn’t he?
if that trick HADN’T worked so well for Tom Delay maybe he wouldn’t try. if we HADN’T spent so many news cycles calling Nancy Pelosi names for things she didn’t do.

hell, I don’t blame the guy. in fact, he’d be an idiot not to. the game is loaded in his favor.

  17. Parrotlover77 says:

So let’s pretend what he said happened… He’s still not disputing that he did something wrong. Interesting tactic.

Just for the record, if any liberals were responsible for an illegal smear campaign against anyone, I would want them brought to justice just like any corrupt conservative.

  18. DutchHenry says:

Are you getting the idea that folks in Connecticut & Nevada are somehow alike in their delusion. How can you explain the election of Lieberman and Gibbons to office in the face irrefutable evidence that both of these characters are shady big-time.Or is it just ignorance ?

  19. Triumph says:

He said they paid the Wall Street Journal ?????!!!!

The Wall Street Journal ???? Has he ever read their editorials ???? The editorial staff of the WSJ are rabid neo-cons !!!!

    F#cking delusional !!!!

  20. Chocolate Jesus says:

I think this calls for a congressional investigation of the Wall Street Journal and any bribes they might have taken…! Would Mr. Gibbons like to sign the petition…?

  21. Chocolate Jesus says:

Just for the record, if any liberals were responsible for an illegal smear campaign against anyone, I would want them brought to justice just like any corrupt conservative

Really? i’d give them a medal of f#cking honor…. if these guys would just fight fire with fire there wouldn’t be a republican president or enough republican senators to even mount a fillibuster for the next 20 years…

  22. Zep Tepi says:

Illegal smear campaigns, huh, Dubya will never allow Turdsy to talk publicly or with transcripts.

  23. Zep Tepi says:

To semi quote Fred Barnes, “This guy should stop acting like a victim”
