“John McCain’s upbeat view of the war in Iraq isn’t shared by many Americans, according to a CBS News poll. McCain’s negative ratings have risen this year, and a sizeable number of Americans believe he’s painted too rosy a picture of the situation in Iraq.”

What happened to that man.
April 11th, 2007 at 1:03 pmThe magic 29% again that still think the world is flat
April 11th, 2007 at 1:04 pmLooks to me like 39% think that he is saying they are better than they actually are and 38 % think he is accurately desribing or describing them worse than they actually are. Wow! a 1% difference!
April 11th, 2007 at 1:05 pmWhen John McCain reads a poll about the people’s opinion of McCain’s views (which are driven by polls) … can he see infinity?
April 11th, 2007 at 1:06 pm39-38, not exactly inspiring numbers for either side
April 11th, 2007 at 1:06 pmI don’t trust McCain on a lot of issues, but the war against terrorists is not one of those issues.
April 11th, 2007 at 1:06 pmMcCain says “things sound better than they are”: 39% say better than they are?? Geeze, I would think that number should be above 70%.

So you have no trouble with his waffling on this issue? OK, well party loyalty is definitely your strong suit (oh wait you claim to be an INDY). Ironic how loyal you are to the GOP, considering that claim. Jake, it’s hard to find someone that’s more of a GOP b*tch than you are…
April 11th, 2007 at 1:22 pm#7 — I agree, but what’s odd about these numbers is that 38% (29+9) percent think that his optimism is either accurate or too gloomy. That’s only 1% less that think that he’s frikkin’ delusional.
Either we look at this and say, “hey, it’s about the same as Bush’s approval ratings — no real surprise there” or we say “McCain is batsh|+ loco, how can we get people into kool-aid rehab before they do something dumb like vote for him?”
April 11th, 2007 at 1:22 pmIt’s all in how the pollsters ask the questions. Enough double speak and even Bush would sound like a good president.
April 11th, 2007 at 1:27 pmJake,
News flash!! We don’t care what you think!!
April 11th, 2007 at 1:32 pmGood one Vinnie, ….Blessings

And you want people to attend private schools so they can spell as well as you do? Did you really pay a teacher 130k a year for that?
Man did you get ripped off.
Besides Bechtel pulled out a year ago because of lack of security and isn’t that why Bush wanted a surge because of the insecurity?

I recall that your ’side’ was calling him mentally unfit not so long ago due to his time in a POW camp.
Can you say hypocrite?
April 11th, 2007 at 1:39 pmLet me rephrase this Republican logic.
If MCcain could have taken a stroll, with out those troops, as he claims, then that would mean that no surge was needed, correct?
Yet McCain is for this surge and more surges.
The guy is obviously a waffling hypocrite.

Seriously, get a life. I spelled describing wrong because I left out the “c”, as you can see the second time it is spelled correctly. How petty and pitiful.
April 11th, 2007 at 2:12 pmMcCain is toast! That Baghdad market photo-op is sooooooo embarrassing and his statement about it sank him deeper than the wreck of the Titanic.
He’s so inaccurate in his pronouncements these days that if he said that day is light and night is dark, people would have to look out the window to check.
April 11th, 2007 at 2:31 pmSeriously, get a life. I spelled describing wrong because I left out the “câ€, as you can see the second time it is spelled correctly. How petty and pitiful.

But you could have easily backspaced and hidden your error but didn’t. (How clever of you genius (*Cough*) types.)
Petty and pitiful would be a highly educated person, as you try to impress upon others that you are, that trolls websites. You, dear wascally wabid wunny wabbit would seem to have no life.
I also notice you could not argue my logic as it applied to McCain and his hyopocritical waffling propaganda.
Thanks for playing!

You are not making any sense. Why would I hide a typo that was posted, it’s right up there on the post for anybody to see it? Who cares? I made a typo and left out a “c’ and you are clinging to that as the great indicator that I am not as smart as you. You are obviously a low end worker, I’m guessing at Burger King that gets stepped on day in and day out and only thing you are bright enough to comment on are typos. Very very sad indeed.

If you wish to position yourself as an intellectually superior entity, then you were shown this not to be true.
A typo is an error that demonstrates either a lack of care, or a lack of skill. Either way, it can demonstrate someone that is obscenely prissy (like you) is nothing more than a hypocrite.
By the way, you’re also an ignorant idiot - in case no one reminded you of this today.
April 11th, 2007 at 3:03 pmI think McCain is bizarre, but this poll doesn’t say much. The wording is confusing.
“Worse than they really are” seems to indicate respondent didn’t understand question. “Don’t know” gets a very large answer as well.
I don’t read the poll as telling as much of anything, despite that I wish 100 percent Americans would repudiate his Orwellian proclamation that everything in Iraq is peachy.

Or it could mean that I was in a hurry and didn’t go back to check my mistake. Have you ever made a typo? I’m willing to be so.
April 11th, 2007 at 3:13 pmMcCain simply cannot be trusted, that’s clear. He’s a proven liar now and the people will never support him again.
April 11th, 2007 at 3:18 pmIt’s funny to compare the postings of the ‘Jakes’ of the world now to the postings 3 years ago. Now that their boy George is looking like the miscreant he is, the ‘Jakes’ are fumbling for arguments. If you are reduced to being John McCain’s waterboy, well, that says it all. Even my conservative friends are starting to show some embarrassment. And they should–i don’t see a republican any of them would want for president.
April 11th, 2007 at 4:19 pmThe “Don’t Know Didn’t Answer” category are the ones who didn’t notice the 2 apache gunships and the 3 blackhawks hovering over his head while he was telling everyone how safe it is.
