MSNBC cancels Imus simulcast.

By Nico Pitney on Apr 11th, 2007 at 7:11 pm

MSNBC cancels Imus simulcast.

“MSNBC said Wednesday it will drop its simulcast of the ‘Imus in the Morning’ radio program, responding to growing outrage over the radio host’s racial slur against the Rutgers women’s basketball team. … But it did not end calls for Imus to be fired from the radio portion of his program. The show originates from WFAN-AM in New York City and is syndicated nationally by Westwood One, both of which are managed by CBS Corp. For its part, CBS has not announced plans to discontinue the show.”

UPDATE: Media Matters statement is HERE.

UPDATE II: Another question: Where’s Russert?

If I were CBS Radio or MSNBC, I’d not want him on my airwaves. This kind of racial and cheuvanistic talk is not appropriate on radio show, in music, in casual conversation or ANYWHERE…

Well it looks like we managed to push our little scapegoat right off the cliff.

So now that we’ve cost an man his job are race relations all better now and we can go back to work?

Or do we still have to nail him to a cross or something?

  4. Del Capslock says:

You know, I really don’t get the sense that Imus is a racist, or that he was being hateful with that comment. More likely he thought he was being clever by showing off his knowledge of gangsta lingo. On the other hand, the piling on that’s going on right now in the media is just stupid. There are people in the media right now who truly are hateful racists (Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.) , and they get away with it every day.

NBC didn’t really have an option. Once the advertisers start dropping out, there is no alternative for the network. NBC didn’t make a decision; its advertisers did.

The silver lining in this is that advertisers “listen to the market”. Perhaps that means that ass-hats like Limpballs and little Seanie Hannity can be forced into retirement if enough of us boycott their sponsors.

this may have the effect of sweeping the problem under the rug…
there are too many REAL racists and bigots out there…

kind of curious why imus was picked on…
hartmann and randi have played clips of boortz, savage, beck, etc. saying some really horrible things…
i hope this means their time is coming also…

Thats exactly what I see when I look at the ENTIRE tape.

You can’t just look at the comment out of context.

Was it a racist comment? Sure.

Did he mean to smear their race?

    Absolutely not.

He was trying to “console” the Rutgers players on their loss by stating how “rough” they played, and how amazon street tough they looked.

He even contrasts that to the Tennessee team, commenting how in comparison, they looked “cute”.

He indicated he was SURPRISED Tennessee team was able to beat such a strong team as Rutgers.

Unfortunately the nut ended up using words that were taken offensive.

    Ok.

So you apologize, explain sorry, I used the wrong words to say something, and my meaning was positive, not negative, it merely came out wrong.

Then, the BIG person, ACCEPTS the apology and moves on.

And I am sure left to their own devices this team would have accepted his apology and moved on.

If Al Sharpton had let them.

But he didn’t. Instead Al Sharpton REJECTED Don Imus’ ORIGINAL apology (which everyone said sounded contrite, honest and sincere) and blew this whole thing into the 24 hours news spectacle it has become.

When we attribute racist intentions when there are clearly none intended, we do more than a disservice to the individual whose life we are so apathetically destroying. We do a disservice to the struggle against REAL racism, where REAL harm is being done.

If you guys wanna call this a victory thats up to you. And if you want to brand me because of my position, thats fine too. But all I see is one little off the cuff remark, turning into the biggest spectacle of ruining lives, enticing hatred and creating a witch hunt environment much like the right wing does over terrorism. In fact, although I’ve suddenly, after 2 years of standing up for liberal democracy, have been branded a right wing troll, it is you guys who sound like the right wing.

Fearmongering and spreading rumors upon rumors about a shock jock who said something stupid. (like that never happens) Big people “accept” apologies. Little people do not.

  18. Buck Fush says:

Why is Rush, Hannity, O’Brian and the likes still on the air, they are going after this bigot, what about all the other rethug bigots, and rethugs are BIGOTS big time.

Big deal. Who listens to him anyway? So can we now get to Ann C, Rush L, Bill O’, et. al.? No? Well, I guess we have to wait until they slur AfricanAmericans to get them fired! People like this have no place in public life. Get rid of all of them. Boycott!

Now, let’s get ShrubyChene out of the white house.

  20. MCDugan says:

This is not a free speech issue. He’s allowed to say whatever he wants; just like NBC is allowed to get rid of him if they don’t like it.

  21. I WORFEUS says:

    Comment by Juan C — April 11, 2007 @ 7:28 pm

Well first off all he was one of the most visible and vocal opponents we had to the Bush administration. Shooting down people who are on our side when they really screw up is one thing. But patronizing to the racial fearmongering of Al Sharpton over a few words that were clearly not INTENDED to be racist is just shooting ourselves in the foot. Which we’re good at.

But more its the principle of the thing Juan.

We are doing a disservice to the real struggle for racial equality, and casting off a guilty national conscience onto one man like the Jews to the SAIR, like that somehow is going to help heal our own issues with race.

And for the next 6 months white people will walk around on eggshells and patronize to the various minorties to make themselves seem above reproach, and then someone will say something about someone until we’re right back to where we started.

If we want to heal racial relations, we first have to stop taken offense where none is intended.

While there is general agreement in our liberal blogosphere with the calls by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for Imus’ firing by CBS Radio and MSNBC, there is a disappointing silence when its comes to Sharpton and Jackson’s own histories of hate speech and racial intolerance.

    OK,

I totally agree with you that Imus is being scapegoated.

When one listens to the tapes, it’s Bernard that eggs Don on by saying “Ho’s” first.

I have said before, Bernard is a racist. He does the voice of ‘Ray Naygen’ and is offensive. He also is ‘Cardinal Egan’, and that is equally offensive to all races.

Imus has a screen in front of him that his little minions can type on and he sees in real time.

    Bernard said “Ho” first.

I’m betting he typed the rest and Imus was stupid enough to read it.

Now, the part where I disagree……

  30. trippin says:

Imus went to Sharpton. He invited Sharpton to be involved.

Of course, this fact puts the panties of the kookbag rascism-defending gasbag zipperheads all onto a big twist. Ouchie!

You never hear him tell McCain he’s an Alzheimer-riddled has been…

Imus does pander to the right.

Hell, he’s in love with Tim Russert!

So there’s where I disagree with you.

Thats right. And I am glad you noticed that.

Also notice the context Bernard said “Ho’s” in. He said they were “HARDCORE”.

He was “continuing” the vein Imus had started, about how “ROUGH” these girls played.

Imus was clearly complimenting the Rutgers team on being hardcore tough players, and also on being quite LARGE, which is a good thing in basketball. He said they were “Amazons”, which is universally understood to mean “big”, not black. Some people tried to twist that too, but Imus is a sports enthusiast and he likes womens basketball so he was just doing some sports talk and tried to compliment them and ended up using some really stupid words.

  43. Triumph says:

    #20 “McDugan” is right.

The only reason we even know about this guy is because GM, Proctor and Gamble, American Express, and etc. advertise on his show. Their deal with him was “Entertain, but do not offend. We trust that you can be ‘edgy’ without crossing the line. We are paying for that. We are putting out this money so that people will buy our products. Pissed off people won’t buy our products.”

Imus was at work when he made his comments. He embarrased his employers and advertisers while on the job. He broke the deal. No different than a sales rep for a software company doing or saying something offensive and outrageous while on a sales call and having the offended clients calling his superiors to complain. The sales rep is almost always toast when that happens. No difference.

This is much more of an employment issue than a free speech issue. All of the advertisers above made the easy decision – “We don’t want to ruin our image by being associated with this nonsense. See ya, Imus.”
They are not going to parse whether he was just trying to be cool or if he is really racist/sexist.

Re: his Bush-bashing and charity, I appreciate that. But if you are running a construction site and your crane operator is negligent and screws up – do you keep him on just because he is a Bush-basher and is charitable?

The funny thing about these arguments is that politicians and religious leaders say stupid things and they apologise and then it is OK. Even though they really don’t change, (just their image).
Imus says a stupid thing and even when he apologises he is still wrong.
    Is this a double standard?
Your AG has said stupid things. Your President has said stupid things. Your VP has said stupid things.
    Stupidity is a human trait.
    Apologies should be accepted.
Sharpton should back off and accept the apology.

    Who are you? Rosa Parks?

What am I supposed to be doing?

I condemn it when I see it like any decent person would. I am not an activist or public figure, and I don’t think speaking my mind in a blog neccesitates that I become one.

You’ll find that I take my own position on issues. Not necessarily my parties, and I don’t care if its popular or not. If I see wrong doing, to anyone, I shine a light on it.

If that bothers you, then don’t come a bloggin.

    A few points.

Re: Cosby – Cosby WAS EMBRACED by a lot of Blacks. And he was challenged by some. You got to view the conflict between him and the camp that challenged him – because that’s what sells. “DJ ‘So and So’ RIPS COSBY” vs. “Middle-aged Black Man Shakes Bill Cosby’s hand in support” — which one do you think the MSM is going to run with?

Re: “Imus tries talking smack like the blacks do themselves and there is shock SHOCK!” … You may want to re-think this scenario. If CBS’s Greg Gumbel or ESPN’s Stuart Scott had said this – they’d be gone, too.

Re: “Where’s the outrage over offensive hip hop/rap?”

The backlash against toxic rap/hip hop is starting. Slowly. There is a documentary that aired on PBS called “Beyond Beats and Rhymes” by Byron Hurt.

He takes toxic hip hop/rap to task on the issues you raise. On PBS site – the comments section was jammed with people thanking him and supporting him for making the challenge. PBS today, BET tomorrow? Maybe. Let’s hope.

Will it gather the same momentum as the Imus thing? No. Will the backlash against toxic hip hop/rap be as successful? With great difficulty, if at all.

It is easier to go after the singular repeat offender like Imus and Crew than it is to go after a “here today gone tomorrow” offensive and rude hip hop/rap group. In addition, when a big name like Imus insults ten or twelve actual women – it becomes more real compared to a group of relatively obscure guys insulting womanhood in general, as these offensive rap lyrics tend to do. But, hopefully this Imus thing could be a catalyst to move things along in that area.

    Comment by pgw

He WAS complementing them. Listen to it. Imus was stumbling around trying to be his usual old crotchedy bad mouthed self and tried mixing it with “black talk”… which totally made him sound crotchedy + insulting. If you live in “white America” I suggest when you are at the DMV or something listen to the people around you… blacks and whites… you might be shocked… but that is REALITY.

This guy has every right to be HIMSELF… he was not using hate speech. He was not trying to call for the abuse of blacks… His usual gig is to be insulting and grumpy… which is exactly what he did (unfortunately for him) about a group of young people that represent the good parts of this country that is left (young smart achievers)… not some crooked politician. He choose a bad target but he didnt do anything out of the ordinary… after all where did he learn to say that phrase? From TV and radio which is spreading what is coming from hiphop/rap. Maybe hiphop/rap needs to cleanup its own house before beating down someone else using THEIR right to free speech.

You’re so full of shit its coming out of your ears.

    You’re also a liar.

I did not say that the reason I was not there is because I was afraid they would do harm to me.

In fact I did not say anything one way or the other about flying to New Jersey.

I pointed out that YOU were trying to intimidate me because you are too dirt stupid to actually debate the issues in here, without demanding I drop everything , spend my time and money to fly to New Jersey and meet with the Rutgers team.

Because you cannot defeat my words in here, you think you somehow have acheived a victory by insisting I travel at your beckoned whim to meet them, and then, once I am surrounded by people who disagree with me, then somehow that will validate your position.

    Well you’re a pathetic debator.

If you all want to go on a crusade with MediaMatters.org I am all for it… but a crusade against this general problem not picking on the low hanging fruit of the bunch… if this was Rush he would tell you all to go F%&^ yourself and he would be on the air right now talking about how he was going too easy on you… But Imus wont do that and so down he goes… so lets set some standards and treat ALL MEN EQUALY … or just continue to let freedom ring… which sounds more like F%^&O*&! than ringing .. but thats freedom for you…

  132. pgw says:

“How would my travelling to the inner city”

it’s 2007—you don’t have to go to “the inner city” if you want to ask an african-american their opinion.

  133. I WORFEUS says:

Neither of you can address the issues.

You’re both too stupid to debate the topic.

  134. pgw says:

“I don’t live in New Jersey you halfwit.”

really? but my master plan relies on that
    [p.s.---that's sarcasm]

  135. I WORFEUS says:

    Comment by pgw — April 11, 2007 @ 10:37 pm

You’re the idiot that suggested I find an African American school. Well most of them here in DC that are predominately african american are in the INNER CITY.

    JACKASS.

  136. I WORFEUS says:

But if you want I can spend my day calling private schools in the outlying area and ask them… .”Hey, is your school mostly made up of black girls?”

In fact, here… let me get my calendar out.

  137. Gerald Gibson Jr says:

That really made me angry because it was a lie. I hate lies.

    Comment by I WORFEUS

Exactly. I totally ignored this story for a few days… I generally dont care about he said she said drama BS … but then today I saw the clip and it was all total BS. If it was said on BET there would have been NO REACTION period… but because an old white guy that wont fight back belligerently does it well its time to shout glory! glory! how could this be!? If it was Rush I doubt they would even bother because Rush would just say lay your complaints on that pile right over there… Rush actually sat there and jiggled around making fun of Micheal Foxs sickness and did he get fired? Hell no.

Where is the crusade from Sharpton against Rush for making fun of a “cripple”?

  138. I WORFEUS says:

    Thats a good question Gerald.

  139. I WORFEUS says:

But TrueBlue was right about Bernard. I pointed that out yesterday.

The word he used I won’t even repeat in here. Its offensive and I can’t believe he said it on the air. It came from now where. He referenced a Spike Lee film, and I’d like to know what he meant by that.

Maybe it was intended to be benign but I’d like to hearhis explanation for what he meant by that. If there is some sort of legitmate reference to a Spike Lee film (joint) then I will consider it in context. But on the surface, and in his manor of delivery, it sounded to me quite racist.

  140. Zooey says:

I’m sorry, but I find this argument between pgw and Worfeus to be incomprehensible.

Not that I want to jump into the middle of it…..no way.

  141. I WORFEUS says:

I can’t understand why they are so focused on Imus who did not appear to mean anything racist, when this producer guy who is supposed to watch what Imus says, says something that sounds so bad, why didn’t anyone call him on this?

Barring his providing a reasonable reference to something that would provide a context of comparison to some film or expression intending other than racist design, I’d have fired him on the spot.

  142. JPark says:

#7 You prove you have no idea what free speech and the Constitution actually is. The first amendment protects a person’s speech against government intrusion, not against negative consequences. You righties are so uneducated.

  143. hterrya says:

#135 – You’re so-called “concern” about the “…REAL racism, where REAL harm is being done.” is mighty shallow. It is just all TALK. I am doing something about it. You can’t bring yourself to even talk to people of color about REAL racism, where REAL harm is being done to them.

  144. I WORFEUS says:

    Incomprehensible? How so?

  145. JPark says:

  147. JPark says:

#139 Actually those terms were used by Spike Lee in a movie to shine the light on racism. Doesn’t matter though, since he is a racist pig, too.

Sorry, Zooey, I find your finding the argument to be “incomprehensible” completely incomprehensible.

  150. I WORFEUS says:

All I see you doing is falsely accusing a man of hurtful intent when there clearly was none there.

To take offense where no offense is intended, is an offense in and of itself.

  151. JPark says:

#125 Are you kidding? Not racist? Nappy headed hos? First off, nappy headed is a loaded term which IS derogatory toward blacks. Second hos certainly is NOT a word you use for a woman you respect, which is what these women deserve. It certainly doesn’t mean “tough” like the righties are trying to assert.

Yea? And you’re the one doing the talking.

You’re the one who can’t address the points I made about what Don Imus ACTUALLY said, and instead have to resort to demanding that because I dare to blog in a blog, that I now drop my chosen profession and become an activist for race relations so you will respect me or something.

Well I’ve got news for you.

I could give a shit what you think about me. You don’t know me or what I do or don’t do.

You just can’t debate the issue, or talk to the points, so you resort to your bullshit.

    And thats all it is.

    Bullshit.

  160. Zooey says:

    Worfeus,

Because unlike you I have a life and a career and responsibilties. If I were going to fly up to New Jersey because some idiot like you demands I do (hint: I wouldn’t hold your breath) I wouldn’t spend 5 hours one way in traffic to get there. I’d grab a commuter and be there in an hour.

But unfortunatetly for you, I don’t take orders from you, and I see your bullshit for what it is, bullshit.

If you know the girls from Rutgers, get one of them in here now.

But I think she’s full of shit. If theres one thing about Rutgers you can be sure of, theres internet access everywhere on campus. If she knew one of the players she’d call them on their cell phone, tell them to open their laptop, come in here and talk to me.

    But she won’t.

    Do you know why?

    I know why.

  165. JPark says:

#161 What is wrong with you??? You don’t know anybody from the Rutgers basketball team but are ok with Imus saying they are nappy headed hos. I could understand that kind of crap if you are talking about the ex-girlfriend that cheated on you but YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW THEM.

actually, you need to lay off the caffeine and learn to see my sarcasm for what it is. however i really appreciate [sarcasm] the comment “unlike you I have a life and a career and responsibilties.” as much as i appreciated [sarcasm] you suggesting yesterday that my “daddy” [who isn't "blue collar"] “paid for school.”

  168. hterrya says:

    Let’s see.

I go into prisons with teams of other men, giving leaders of racial gangs the opportunity to reconcile face-to-face (and many have, in spite of the danger to their persons when they do), and to meet weekly thereafter in small groups to talk about their lives and the changes in their lives. These prisoners are in Texas and the folks we meet with were at one time much like the ex-prisoners who dragged the guy behind the truck, which you pointed out when talking about “REAL racism” (SUPPOSEDLY your BIG concern).

And I have more but the example above is like “casting pearls before swine.”

However, by giving this one example, perhaps it will show the rest on this thread of the difference between ALL TALK and REAL ACTION.

Don’t talk the talk Troll, if you can’t walk the walk. Loser!

  178. Beve says:

    HISTORY OF RACIST COMMENTS:

    On blacks:

“William Cohen, the Mandingo deal.” (Former Defense Secretary Cohen’s wife is African-American.)

“Wasn’t in a woodpile, was he?” (Responding to news that former black militant H. Rap Brown, subsequently known as Abdullah Al-Amin, was found hiding in a shed in Alabama after exchanging gunfire with police. Imus is here alluding to the expression “nigger in the woodpile.”)

“Knuckle-dragging moron.” (Description of basketball player Patrick Ewing.)

“We all have 12-inch penises.” (After being asked what he has in common with Nat Turner, Malcolm X, Minister Louis Farrakhan, Latrell Sprewell from the New York Knicks, and Al Sharpton.)

“Chest-thumping pimps.” (Description of the New York Knicks.)

“A cleaning lady.” (Reference to journalist Gwen Ifill, possibly out of pique that she wouldn’t appear on his show. “I certainly don’t know any black journalists who will,” she wrote in the April 10 New York Times. The Chicago Tribune’s Clarence Page used to appear, but after he made Imus pledge not to make offensive comments in the future, he was never asked back.)

    On Jews:

“I remember when I first had [the Blind Boys of Alabama] on a few years ago, how the Jewish management at whatever, whoever we work for, CBS, or whatever it is, were bitching at me about it. […] I tried to put it in terms that these money-grubbing bastards could understand.”

“Boner-nosed … beanie-wearing Jewboy.” (Description of Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post, a frequent guest.)

    On women:

“That buck-tooth witch Satan, Hillary Clinton.” […] “I never admitted it when I went down there and got in all that big jam, insulting Bill Clinton and his fat ugly wife, Satan. Did I? Did I ever say I was sorry for that?”

    On Native Americans:

“The guy from F-Troop, Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell.” (This is a reference to the zany Indian characters on the 1960s TV sitcom F-Troop. They had names like “Roaring Chicken,” “Crazy Cat,” and “Chief Wild Eagle.”)

    On Japanese:

“Old Kabuki’s in a coma and the market’s going up. […] How old is the boy? The battery’s running down on that boy.” (Reference to Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi, who died the following week.)

    On gays:

“I didn’t know that Allan Bloom was coming in from the back end.” (The homosexuality of the author of The Closing of the American Mind became widely known when Saul Bellow published Ravelstein, a novel whose protagonist was based on Bloom, who by then was deceased.)

“The enormously attractive [NBC political correspondent] Chip Reid, I can say without being accused of being some limp-wristed ‘mo.”

    On the handicapped:

“Janet Reno’s having a press conference. Ms. Reno, of course, has Parkinson’s disease, has a noticeable tremor. […] I don’t know how she gets that lipstick on (laughter) looking like a rodeo clown.”

  179. I WORFEUS says:

So what? What do you want, a medal? Talk to Bush, I hear he’s giving them out.

But unless you can explain, just what the hell that has to do with your inability to show anyone here where I was wrong, then its just another one of your red herrings, self bloviating trying to make yourself sound important and above the debate, when in reality you simply just cannot refute the facts.

You go to prisons? Fine. Maybe they should keep you for a while.

I could give a crap. I have my life, and I occasionally blog in here. If you don’t like my opinion, then refute it, but don’t sit here on your self righteous ass trying to make yourself somehow better than me because your some kind of glorified social worker. I could give crap. I was a probation officer with a local state for many years in my 20’s jackass. I worked with all kinds, so don’t tell me about your great job like its supposed to somehow ad credibility to a position you have YET TO MAKE. I could give a shit.

Tell me instead what facts of mine you have information to refute. If you can’t then you lose.

And that would make you, the “loser”, loser.

“When you couldn’t answer the challange, you resorted to daring me ‘”say it to their face”‘ , to try to divert from your inability to form a coherent argument.”

no, i asked you to ask some young african-american women whether they think being called a “nappyheaded ho” is racist. imus’s comment was directed at a group of young african-american women, and ultimately what matters is how african-american women across the country took the comment. as i said before, i know your position; i just suggested you think beyond your self, get somebody else’s opinion.

    Give it up pal.

You couldn’t answer then, so you tossed out a red herring. Its clear to anyone with a brain.

And you can’t answer now, so instead of addressing my REPEATED CHALLENGE to you, you are still trying to divert from your inability to address one single issue I made.

  184. JPark says:

WHen you can produce that quote from me, then you may return.

    Here are some more.

Well it looks like we managed to push our little scapegoat right off the cliff.

If we want to heal racial relations, we first have to stop taken offense where none is intended.

But it doesn’t have any bearing to me on the percieved racism in his statement that so many are trying to say is there.

I am judging this one by the facts. And I don’t see that Imus was trying to be racist at all, and I am glad we agree on that. Then again you always were pretty smart, lol

Oh, can I “come back” now, Worfeus?

  185. JPark says:

You didn’t quote me the first time and you know it.

I never said what you said I said.

And you are misquoting me now. READ STUPID. READ.

You just accused me of saying he didn’t “SAY ANYTHING HURTFUL”.

But HERE is what I actually said.

All I see you doing is falsely accusing a man of hurtful intent when there clearly was none there

    INTENT Genius.

    INTENT.

    6 letters

    2 Syllables

Intent in law is the planning and desire to perform an act, to fail to act (i.e. an omission) or to achieve a state of affairs.

In criminal law, for a given actus reus (”guilty act”), the requirement to prove intent consists of showing mens rea (mental state, “guilty mind”).

Thought I’d toss you the specifics of the word since obviously your Speak-n-Spell doesn’t include that word.

  187. JPark says:

I cut and paste your exact fu$king words. And now you accuse me of misquoting you? You are as bad as the trolls. You can’t even own up to your own d$mn words. That is pathetic.

  188. JPark says:

And you are still defending a racist. Intent…let’s see, what could possibly be the intent of a man saying nappy headed hos. Oh, laughs right? Just like Coulter expects laughs for “joking” about killing John Paul Stevens. That one was funny, too, wasn’t it, WORFEUS?

  189. I WORFEUS says:

Oh, can I “come back” now, Worfeus?

    Comment by JPark — April 12, 2007 @ 12:09 am

    No stupid.

Because you haven’t completed the original assignment.

Here, since you’re too stupid to remember what you said, go back and read.

#161 What is wrong with you??? You don’t know anybody from the Rutgers basketball team but are ok with Imus saying they are nappy headed hos.

    Comment by JPark — April 11, 2007 @ 11:38 pm

Go back and read to us where in my comments I said it was “ok” with what Don Imus said.

    Comment by I WORFEUS — April 11, 2007 @ 11:41 pm

So unless you have another one of my “quotes” to pull out of your ass, that says I AM OK WITH WHAT IMUS SAID, you have NOT completed your assignment, and you need to go away and not come back until you do.

    Idiot.

  190. I WORFEUS says:

    You’re a pathetic simp.

SHOW me where I said the words you accused me of saying. Show me ONE PLACE where I said I was “OK WITH WHAT IMUS SAID”.

Show me one place you lying sack of shit.

  191. JPark says:

#188 Oh, I am so sorry for directly quoting you. Next time I will try not to.

  192. JPark says:

#188 You are really not very bright are you WORFEUS? I quoted you. All of those quotes were yours and every one of them said that Imus didn’t do anything wrong.

  193. hterrya says:

#178 – Like I said in #168, telling you ANYTHING “is like ‘casting pearls before swine’.”

Your slur on me and what I do is just that – an Imus-clone slur. I have called your hand when you professed this DEEP concern for “REAL racism,” and have shown that all your “concern” is just a smoke screen for the reality that you show NO evidence of REALLY give a damn about the daily racism people of color face. It’s all talk and NO action!

However, the others can see that your so-called concern about “REAL racism,” and your claim that others’ concern about Imus’ slur (”compliment” according to you) on the integrity of the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team (”prima donnas” to you) somehow detracts from confronting “REAL racism,” is just that, “so-called.”

You are an empty suit. All mouth, no action.

  194. I WORFEUS says:

And while you’re at it dimwit, why don’t you go up and READ the comments I made today, and in the last two threads on this topic and actually try to refute ONE thing I said.

You and your band of rabid at the mouth activists are sure good at serving up a big plate full of RED HERRING, but you cannot address anything I said.

You just shout RACIST, and think yourselves the better for it.

    You’re a fool.

  195. JPark says:

#189 LOL, now you are going to parse your own words? Are you going to backtrack? Look at #183…your quotes!!! No offense intended…I don’t see where Imus was trying to be racist at all…perceived racism…scapegoat. Yeah, Worfeus, you weren’t trying to say Imus did nothing wrong.

  196. I WORFEUS says:

#188 Oh, I am so sorry for directly quoting you. Next time I will try not to.

    Comment by JPark — April 12, 2007 @ 12:22 am

    Yea.

Too bad your quote wasn’t what you said I said, huh?

  197. JPark says:

#193 No, moron, you have defended racist comments. Does that make you a racist by proxy? Maybe not but the evidence doesn’t look good. By the way, you are refuting your own words, RIGHT NOW.

  198. JPark says:

#195 Are you a righty? Your words are recorded. You tell me what you didn’t say because I pasted directly from your posts.

  199. I WORFEUS says:

You’re the moron who quotes me, says that my quotes say that what Imus said was “ok” , when anyone with an actual brain (which excludes you and probably most of your inbred family) can read the very quotes of mine you put up and see I NEVER said ANYTHING about the words being “ok”.

“Essence Carson and other players spoke out at a news conference in their first public statements since Imus’ inflammatory remarks last week.

‘I would like to express our team’s great hurt, anger and disgust toward the words of Mr. Don Imus,’ Carson said. ‘We are highly angered at his remarks but deeply saddened with the racial characterization they entailed.’”

Its like arguing with a mutant.

You’re a complete idiot. But I do see your problem. Your brain is a “monoprocessor”, which is common in inbreeding situtions.

The monoprocessor capability makes you unable to remember “context”, and instead, you just lunge at individual statements and assign your own meanings to them.

You’re like a Tyranasourus Rex. You can see the movement, but you don’t know what you’re looking at.

  208. I WORFEUS says:

Thats right PGW, and those words were given to them by a speechwriter.

  209. I WORFEUS says:

Go back up Jpark, and read the surrounding sentences. Those are words cropped together in segments.

Then when you do, you’ll see that you are still misquoting me, because you are pulling quotes that DO NOT say what YOU CLAIMED they said.

They are my words, but they don’t say what you originally accused me of, that is, stating that I was “OK” with what Don Imus said.

    You’re a liar.

And not a very good one either.

  210. JPark says:

#206 Got it. I quoted you and you didn’t like it. Tough.

    Comment by JPark — April 12, 2007 @ 1:19 am

I laid out the entire argument in this thread, the IMUS Non-Defense thread and the Ifil thread.

If you’re too lazy to read my position, at least in this thread above, where I and others painstakingly laid out the blow by blow of exactly why Imus didn’t seem to be insulting but rather trying to compliment the two girls, then you’ll have to wait till I answer your friend.

Or read next time the argument of a person you’re going to attack instead of INVENTING his argument for him.

  258. JPark says:

Let me see if I can translate what Worfeus has painfully been trying to say (you don’t mind, do you Worfeus?):

Imus was not trying to make a racial slur. He was trying to “talk black” in a sad attempt to compliment the team. However, he should have known that such talk is unacceptable; he should have known it is so racially charged -specially coming from a white man- that it would backfire.

In short: Imus is guilty of being exceedingly stupid, not racist.

  271. pgw says:

    First.

    LISTEN TO THE VIDEO

    LISTEN.

    Don’t talk.

    Listen.

    Now.

Do you hear Don Imus saying, “THOSE ARE SOME ROUGH GIRLS”?

Did you hear him say they had tattoos?

Did you hear the COMPARISON to the TENNESSEE team, rerferring to them as “CUTE” compared to the big tough Rutgars team?

Did you hear Bernard play off his “ROUGH GIRLS” theme and call them “HARDCORE HO’S” , which then Imus took and mangled and ended up with the nappy headed hoes comment?

Did you hear them compare them to AMAZONS? GRIZZLY’S? The Toronoto RAPTORS?

Did you hear Imus then express his surpise they won, saying “They didn’t want to beat this team” (this was a team you don’t mess with) “but they did”.?

Did you hear him say “I don’t know if they wanted to beat RUTGERS, but they did”?

    Did you hear that?

Or are you just gonna stand there shouting racist all night?

Was Imus’ comment a racist slur? No
Was it an attempt at complimenting the team? Yes
Does the intention make the comment ok? No
Was said attempt pathetic and wrong? Absolutely

Was Imus stupid? Without a doubt.

    Thanks Greg.

I felt like I was taking crazy pills.

See, they attribute to me that I am defending Imus’s stupidity, which I am clearly not. I said in this and other posts what he said was wrong and punishing him was fine.

But I was not fine with two lies.

    1. They said he was trying to insult the team and that they didn’t deserve to win. WRONG. He was saying the opposite.

    2. They said he had racist intent in his words, that he was attacking the their African American heritage. WRONG. In order to do that he would have to single out the African American members from the rest. Otherwise it would make much sense. PLUS, he wouldn’t likely do it along side a compliment, now would he?

Which is why the DUAL LIE.

Because the one lie necessitates the other.

In order to be convincing in any claims he was being racist, someone first had to show malicious intent, that he was degrading the teammembers, and thus had malicious intent. There clearly is none. He way paying them a compliment while trying to “sound black”, something I said way back in the Gwen Ifil Thread.

Go back and read. I laid this whole thing out there, and in the Imus-NonDefense Thread, as well as above.

    READ. LISTEN.

Stop attacking people whose positions you think you know.

    You’re very welcome.

I happen to know a few people in Imus’ age range (what is he, 70?), and they make comments similar to Imus’ “compliment”.

Some things these persons say blow my mind, and yet I know they don’t mean it as a racist put down. A few of them actually wonder where, how words changed meaning so much that they cannot be spoken out loud in public.

I can see how an older person -even a radio personality who should have known better- would have a slip of the tongue.

Pretty close. He’s 67 I believe. I know what you mean though.

  282. I WORFEUS says:

And as for the Rutgers team, I never said anything about them other than what did they do other than lose a ball game and get insulted?

I have nothing for or against them. I don’t know them and I don’t know anything about them. All I know of them is what I have seen them do during this event. And I would have thought a lot more of the team captian, if instead of buying into the racial hatred bandwagon, she had instead stepped back, looked at the situation, examined what Imus was really saying, and then, when he made his public apology, accept it, and move on like the bigger person. I don’t blame her or the team members though. I see Sharptons and others hands in this.

In fact, I am willing to wager that when someone first came to her and said, “hey, Don Imus called you a nappyheaded ho”, that she said, “who’s Don Imus?”.

I don’t blame her. I blame the media and the activists like Sharpton who are showing themselves to be small, not big.

  283. I WORFEUS says:

I support Sharpton more than I disagree with him too.

But on this one we are poles apart.

  284. DUFIOUS says:

    Worfeus (know it all):

All anyone has to do is read the other thread about Imus to see where you said that Imus was ‘complimenting’ the Rutgers b’ball team.
I don’t know any other way to take your many posts on this topic.
Why don’t you quit while you’re behind;besides, your two cheerleaders have gone to bed.

    Good job hterrya,JPark and pgw.

    Comment by A DUFUS — April 12, 2007 @ 3:08 am

Thats right pinhead. And I said the same thing in this thread to. So did other people.

    Whats your point?

Who’s denying that I said he was making a compliment?

I painstakingly made that argument over a dozen times for you and the idiots like you who can’t remember what you’ve read 5 seconds after you read it.

That is NOT condoning what he said, nor is it defending him or what he said.

Being racist is stupid but being stupid does not mean being racist.

Go back and READ before you make yourself look any more stupid than you already do.

  286. I WORFEUS says:

Was Imus’ comment a racist slur? No

Was it an attempt at complimenting the team? Yes

    Comment by Gregor Samsa — April 12, 2007 @ 1:58 am

And as you see, they are not my “cheerleaders”, they merely happen to also be smart enough to take the time to LISTEN to the video, and SEE for themselves that he is clearly advocating the physical size and fierceness of the Rutgers team.

But you can’t see that, can you? Cause you’re just a little troll in disguise, too afraid to use your real handle.

  287. I WORFEUS says:

He WAS complementing them. Listen to it.

  291. Samjax says:

One of the speakers was Chidimma Acholonu, president of the Rutgers campus chapter of the NAACP:

“This is not a battle against one man. This is a battle against a way of thought,” she said. “Don Imus does not understand the power of his words, so it is our responsibility to remind him.”

    Well put.

  292. Gregor Samsa says:

    Comment by DUFIOUS — April 12, 2007 @ 4:03 am

And those people’s names would be…?

    (you mentioned “two cheerleaders”)

  293. jf says:

Just curious but are all the Rutgers womens basketball team members black? If not, then he called white and other ethnic background, girls the same thing. Does that mean he’s racist against white women, latin, french, etc… too? Or maybe it wasn’t a racist comment at all-just a stupid comment. I am so tired of these opportunistic bottom feeders like jessie jackson and al sharpton CAUSING a racial division so they can get their faces on camera.
Some other thoughts: why hasn’t jesse jackson been spanked for using the term “Hymey Town” ?
Why hasn’t al sharpton been spanked for the whole Towana Browley thing?
Why aren’t jessie and al up in arms about all the rap stars using blatently racist language in their songs? Or how about that song “Cop Killer” ? anyone remember that? Why hasn’t al or jessie ever said anything about that? Let me get this straight-NOT OK” calling someone a nappy headed ho” ? OK singing about killing a cop?

  294. trippin says:

This isn’t about Don Imus. It’s not like he brought such a unique voice to the airwaves that he is some sort of irreplaceable talent. Far from it. For God’s sake, he was still doing Nixon jokes until recently. His show is like having Rich Little at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner.

We must recognize there is an enormous opportunity cost associated with having Imus on the air versus so many other worthy and talented personalities that can actually enrich our culture instead of appealing to what the average sub-average IQ zipperhead finds funny.

Reading all the ranting, the grasping at straws, in some of the posts here is simply amazing. Again, it’s not about Imus. It’s about something deeper and darker in places no one normally talks about. It’s about white America defending it’s ability to engage in racist banter and dismissing it as all being in good humor.

Don’t worry, zipperheads, you can still say whatever miserable garbage you want, and you can even use Al Sharpton as your excuse (even though Imus came to Sharpton not the ohter way around.)

But the good news for America is that if we have the proper follow-through on this, you won’t have some highly paid cigar smoking liar to hurl your epithets for you over the airwaves. You’ll have to stand on the street corner and do it yourself like a man, not hide behind Ann Coulter like a little girl. And you will have to deal with the consequences personally, not vicariously.

Next, we should turn to the other hate mongers and shun them: Coulter, Limbaugh, Beck, O’Reilly, and the rest. Just because there’s a market for their hate-filled garbage doesn’t mean the marketplace should offer it. There’s a market for child porn, cocaine, and murder for hire too.

Again, this isn’t about “free speech” — they all can say whatever they want just like anybody else can. They just can’t say it on the airwaves in which we all share ownership. Perhaps all the hate-mongers can chip in and get themselves their own cable channel.

  295. trippin says:

Oh I forgot — that’d be Fox and Headline News.

  296. David says:

Do you think Reverend Shaprton will make any comment about the Duke rape case?

  297. I-Train says:

I am finally seeing some people with some sense on here (besides Worfeus, of course). 2 things:

    1. Imus is indeed a scapegoat. His picture should now be put in the dictionary next to that word

    2. Bill Maher put it best; all of this hoopla is “fake outrage.” Americans just love to be outraged. they don’t need all of the facts, just a quick soundbyte. It feels good to be outraged, doesn’t it?

  298. I-Train says:

What a precedent this will set. I honestly hope that Sharpton slips up ONE TIME on his radio show….

  299. YouCantHandleDaTruth says:

Why are people still apologizing for Imus and his producers comments that were on par with call the Black females on Rutgers girls teams the n word?

There’s lack of diversity in the US media so Its no wonder the whole context of Imus’s statements isn’t mentioned.

To defend Imus and his producers words at this point is apologizing for racism itslef.

Now back to the white house and how they destroyed emails.

  300. chris says:

this is a crock; Imus is nothing more than a scapegoat off which MSNBC, Staples, Proctor & Gamble (and others) can boost their ratings and/or revenue by appearing to be self-righteous (which appeals to some consumers apparently). All they’re really doing is elevating a controversy that is overrated and misplaced. No individual who is riled up about this has a right to be so until the use of the same language in the gangster community is addressed and fixed; all Imus did was attempt to be humorous (part of his job that apparently many people can’t grasp as a concept) by using lingo that is COMMONLY used every day. Until the double standard is addressed or fixed – I suggest that certain people go back to practicing their logical reasoning skills and quit making Imus a capitalistic scapegoat.

  301. bill says:

I agree #299 – racism is promulgated in this country by those who are every day claiming that individuals like Imus are racist. the truth is that in today’s society nobody really cares about racism any more – largely because we as a society have moved on and evolved – well except for those that still believe they have some entitlement to pull the ‘racism card’ for every perceived controversy or scandal.

please grow up and move on. it’s 2007 already.

  302. trippin says:

I just love to watch pasty white boys like Fred Barnes proclaim “racism is over!” It’s almost as funny as the “nappy headed ho” line! Whooooeee!

  303. I-Train says:

Will Imus be considered a racist when he is forced to shut down his Cattle Ranch charity, which children with fatal diseases such as cancer and sickle cell anemia attend?

For all of you who wanted Imus off the air, tell me what good will come out of this?

  304. I-Train says:

Will Imus be considered a racist when he is forced to shut down his Cattle Ranch charity, which children with fatal diseases such as cancer and sickle cell anemia attend?

For those of you who are relishing this nationwide scandal, can you please tell me what good will come out of all of this attention?

  305. tomcat says:

And I agree with you #300. Although I have never cared for the Imus show(mainly because of his monotone put-you-to sleep voice and his liberal friends like Bill Maher), I do find it ironic that Al Sharpton is grilling this guy. Al Sharpton who convicted in his own court of public opinion three college students from Duke University. I have yet to hear an apology from this guy. But because these boys were white and had money, I guess they deserved everything they got right? If Imus gets fired, I guess Sharpton should get fired too. In fact, him and that other race pimp Jesse Jackson should both go. They are the number one reason racism is still strong in this country today. Because think about it, if racism was dead how would they collect a paycheck?

  306. I WORFEUS says:

    2. Bill Maher put it best; all of this hoopla is “fake outrage.” Americans just love to be outraged. they don’t need all of the facts, just a quick soundbyte. It feels good to be outraged, doesn’t it?

    Comment by I-Train — April 12, 2007 @ 9:12 am

Thats exactly what it is. FAKE OUTRAGE.

What kind of basketball stars gets sooooooooooo hurt of one little comment? They get booed and yelled at all day long!!!!

Are the Rutgars players made of butter?

But whats worse is these comments by Imus were not, I repeat NOT intended to be racist. Anyone with a brain not infected with rabies can see that by merely reviewing the videotape.

People like Dufious are as racist as the neonazis, spreading hate, rumor and lies and using shout down and smear tactics to supress anyone daring to voice reason.

  307. I WORFEUS says:

“This is not a battle against one man. This is a battle against a way of thought

    Comment by Samjax — April 12, 2007 @ 4:23 am

    Bullshit.

The only way of thought we need to battle on this one is the way of thought that tells rabid foaming at the mouth self righteous hypocrites that it is ok to publically bear false witness against a man, and demand that others join into the collective lie.

You are liars when you accuse Imus of trying to racially slur the Rutgers players.

    Nothing more.

    Just plain, simple liars.

    Just like Rush Limpballs.

  308. I WORFEUS says:

They have, trippin, it’s called Faux Noise. Maybe Imus can get a job there as Ins-Hannity’s nappy headed ‘ho. I wonder if Imus’ big mouth will make him incapable of making contact with Ins-Hannity’s tiny willy?

There, I complimented Imus and Ins-Hannity just the way I(mus) WHOREFEUS’ hero complimented the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team. Now why would anyone get upset about THAT!

I(mus) WHOREFEUS won’t get upset about that, will you, you nappy headed little troll ‘ho?

  310. I WORFEUS says:

Al Sharpton has done some good and done some damage, but too often its the latter. This time its the latter.

Sharpton is holding a “PROTEST RALLY” this weekend to protest ONE GUY WHO IS NOT A RACIST.

Sharpton will get thousands together to chant, protest, and spread the lie that Don Imus was trying to be racist when he knows he was not which puts him on the same level as the rest of the racist scum in this country.

    Its a LIE.

You’re just a stupid, sorry son of a bitch.

You haven’t a brain in your head. You just keep ranting your lies, but you never address one single issue that anyone pointed out.

Show us in the video genius where Imus was trying to insult these girls.

Do you watch sports? Do you understand when someone says “they shouldn’t have lost because they are so tough”, that its a compliment?

Are was your mothers homeschooling as pathetic as you demonstrate in here?

  312. I WORFEUS says:

    LISTEN you pathetic wimp.

Listen to his words, and use what little brain you have and try to learn.

Or are you just going to sit there blabbering like an blithering idiot, repeating the same baseless accusations over and over?

  313. I WORFEUS says:

I am calm you inbred worm.

I am just amazed at what a little sissy you are, being unable to answer one of my challanges, but instead, like a troll, you just keep ranting about nothing.

    Talk to the issues dimwit.

    Or can’t you?

  317. I WORFEUS says:

In fact, for two days now you have been completely unable to address one single fact I produced.

And anyone reading over your comments will quickly see that.

    You can’t debate.

    Just bloviate.

  318. I WORFEUS says:

I just posted an entire list of facts for you to refute.

Instead like a troll, you just blabber like a two year old.

Talk to the issues if you’re such a big racial warrior chump.

    I’m waiting.

  319. I WORFEUS says:

The fact is I have clearly demonstrated in here, and the two previous threads on the issue, that Don Imus was making a compliment to the team and it came out wrong.

    And lots of people agreed.

You have yet to make one factual statement with regards to the video tape.

Instead each and every post you make is only insults against me, and lies against me and Don Imus.

When are you going to address the issues you big bad race warrior?

    We’re waiting.

  320. hterrya says:

The issue is Imus and his racial slur (YOU call it a “compliment) against the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team (YOU call them “prima donnas).

To get away from that issue, YOU scream “Listen to the tape.” I listened to the tape several times. Apparently, so did the team. They were hurt by what was said. I can understand why. YOU can’t. Too bad.

Imus is gone and it is no loss to ANYONE!

  321. I WORFEUS says:

You still haven’t addressed one single point.

You are just making sweeping generalizations about the tape with zero facts.

Go back and address the line by line items I gave you to address.

  322. I WORFEUS says:

  325. I WORFEUS says:

Did you hear him say “I don’t know if they wanted to beat RUTGERS, but they did”?

Did you hear that over your own big mouth?

  326. I WORFEUS says:

If you are in a boxing match, and I say you’re “tough”, and was surprised you lost, am I complimenting you or am I insulting you?

  327. I WORFEUS says:

Well its clear you are not a “progressive”.

You refuse to address the issues, and for two days have been sounding like Ann Coulter, just insulting without addressing any issues.

You are a tribute to stupidity and a waste of my keystrokes.

So from now on, I will stop trying to help you see the light, and just mock you.

    Which is much more fun.

Guess it only hurts the Rutgers girls if Imus is saying it, huh?

  332. I-Train says:

hterrya, read a little about the Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer, and the other programs and charities that Imus supports, and tell me if that is or isn’t a loss to ANYONE!

He may have (in your eyes) used his position in the media to spew hate or whatever you want to call it. But if you actually ever listened to the Imus show or knew anything about him, you would know that Imus actually used his power in the media to further many positive causes such as: autism research funding, hurricane katrina relief, “greening” the environment, increasing compensation for families of dead soldiers, etc.

He will no longer be able to be a vocal supporter of these causes, because he has been made into a pariah by you (all).

Does this comment make sense to anyone here (besides Worfeus)?

  333. hterrya says:

Guess it only hurts the Rutgers girls if Imus is saying it, huh?

    Comment by I(mus) WHOREFEUS — April 12, 2007 @ 2:08 pm

When Imus said it, the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team said they were hurt by what he said. I take them at their word. Unlike you, I haven’t called them “girls” nor have I called them “prima donnas.”

Since you have repeatedly called the racial slur a compliment, you shouldn’t be hurt by it either, nor should you consider it “insulting” when I apply it to you, you nappy headed little ‘ho.

Imus is gone, and it is no loss to ANYONE!

  334. I-Train says:

hterrya, i would appreciate it if you read my comment #331, and responded to it. Thanks.

  335. I WORFEUS says:

When Imus said it, the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team said they were hurt by what he said. I take them at their word. .”

So if you take them at their word that they were hurt by Imus using the term, nappyheaded ho’s, why would you repeatedly use the word to insult someone in here?

Why would you keep adding to their “hurt”?

  336. I WORFEUS says:

Since you have repeatedly called the racial slur a compliment, you shouldn’t be hurt by it either,

    Comment by hterrya — April 12, 2007 @ 2:20 pm

    I’m not hurt by it.

But don’t you think the Rutgers girls might be?

If they are so “hurt” by the word?

  337. I WORFEUS says:

    Please stop hurting them.

  338. hterrya says:

I-Train: It makes sense to me that Imus has used his position and power to do good for people over the course of his long career.

Along the way, his history of making (and laughing at) racial slurs has done harm to people of color. Does that make sense to you?

In this case, Imus’ remarks were directed toward and hurt the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team. As he has admitted, he knew it was wrong when he said it. But, he said it anyway, and he has reaped the consequences.

And so, Imus is gone. Since you think it is a loss, I-Train, it would be incorrect to say, “…and it is no loss ANYONE!”

However, it is correct to say, “Imus is gone from MSNBC, and for some, it is no great loss.”

  339. I WORFEUS says:

No. Just their largest longest running marketshare in their existence.

Bet you’re good with money too…

  340. I-Train says:

hterrya: do you think that his insensitive remarks negatively outweigh all of the good he has done? He will no longer be in a position to help these causes. You see it as a good thing because he hurt the feelings of 10 people. How about the feelings of all of the dying children that get a chance of a (short) lifetime to live on his ranch? I’m not trying to sound too sappy but I seriously feel awful about the fact that this charity will (probably) have to close now.

Also, from your point of view, since someone telling a joke is SUCH a terrible travesty, Imus has not “done harm” to just people of color. As his show was a comedy show, he had several comedic characters on, who made fun of Catholics and Irish people as well. Where’s your outrage for those people on non-color?

  341. I-Train says:

edit #340: You see it as a good thing that he was fired because he hurt the feelings of 10 people.

  342. I WORFEUS says:

And I think the real story here I-Train, is that the comment was meant as praise, not insult.

See there are 2 lies here.

    1. That this comment was designed to insult the Rutgers team for losing to Tennessee.

    2. That it was racist in its design.

In order for number 2 to work, the activists need number 1 to be accepted first.

So the media claimed Imus was insulting the girls and besmirching their skills.

If they could not get people to accept that, then no one would accept that he meant it in a hurtful and racist way.

They needed number 1 for number 2 to fly.

But a quick review of the video shows that number 1, is a lie, and he was trying to console the players and compliment Tennessee on beating such a ROUGH BUNCH OF GIRLS.

But they won’t admit that, because then their cries of racist lose credibility.

They need to sell the first lie in order to sell the second.

    Don’t let them.

  343. I-Train says:

I am not letting them. In fact, I was listening when he originally said it. I can’t remember whether or not it was the same day he spoke to the widow of the Bishop G.E. Patterson on the show…

  344. I WORFEUS says:

    Aren’t you I-Right-I I-Train?

I don’t care either way. If we agree on this issue then we agree on this issue.

    Just curious.

  345. I-Train says:

    I do not understand.

  346. I WORFEUS says:

    Ok. Then never mind.

  347. I-Train says:

Imus has been fired from CBS.

After raising nearly $1000000 in 5 hours for the radiothon charity….
