Sam Fox vows more campaign giving.

“Sam Fox, President Bush’s controversial recess appointment as ambassador to Belgium, is vowing to continue donating to political candidates during his time in Brussels while forgoing contributions to 527s, the campaign vehicle that sparked the recent political firestorm that derailed his Senate confirmation.”

If Democrats behaved in any way like the FOB (friends of Bush) they would be tarred, feathered and run out of town. With Bush&Co, though, it’s A-OK and everyone agrees it’s just fine.

    Comment by Kevin

Sure, as a private citizen. He has no right to the ambassadorship, however. Bush pulled his nomination because he knew he didn’t have the votes in the Senate to be confirmed.

We want Fox to only donate money to Republicans. We don’t need any tainted, filthy money from the likes of him, thanks.

He didn’t spend money on *candidates*, that’s not what he’s criticized for. He spent money on smear campaigns based on lies, propaganda and smears. That’s what he’s criticized for, you know, the same thing you do – smear and lie.

What Mr. Fox should have said to Mr. Kerry’s question “Why did you donate to the Swift Boat Vets?”

“Because I didn’t want you to be president. I, as a citizen of the United States, decided that the best thing I could do to prevent that from happening is to give money to people that had organized specifically to stop your becoming president. Thank God it worked.”

Kevin, the irony of your post here is almost beyond words. You are saying he should have been honest about his lying? that is twisted logic, even for a troll.

  16. barfly says:

I’d like to know exactly what Fox is getting from this faux ambassadorship. He won’t be there long enough to do much. Perhaps it’s the proximity to Amsterdam. He can at least get first hand, feelings of Amsterdam’s sex-trade workers, regarding sex-tourist issues.

  17. barfly says:

#11 Shorter Kevin: Thank God the lies worked!

I don’t think God appreciates your associating a lying campaign with Him.

Tell Satan how funny it was at the time; I’ll bet he laughs, also.

  18. Kevin says:

Just a little off subject. I want to point out that you progressives dive right into name calling. Like some bratty first grader. You think you would learn from your fellow progressive Imus that name calling is a bad idea.

You’ve come on this site for months and acted like a pedantic prick. Your FAT TAX ideas are stupid, the GAO says they’re st*pid. And guess what, you’re even more st*pid for BELIEVING YOUR OWN B*LLSH*T!

So why don’t you put away that sanctimonious b*llsh*t of yours, and while you’re at it, you supporting a lying, smearing piece of sh*t like Fox shows everyone exactly how UNAMERICAN you are – you *ssh*le!

  32. bob (not the hacker) says:

Hey kevin, if you are against name calling why are you supporting someone who commited some incredibly horrendous name calling in the last presidental election? What the swiftboaters did was name calling in the worst sense of the word. they should be ashamed, and you should be ashamed. Especially you, since you seem to be so adverse to name calling, unless it’s only when republicans are on the recieving end of that game.

  35. barfly says:

While the Fox recess appointment was bad form, another of Bush’s appointments is actually bad for America(from Wiki):

    [. . .]

The second was Susan Dudley to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) at the Office of Management and Budget. the Washington Post’s Al Kamen wrote in the April 4, 2007 “In The Loop” column, “Chairman Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.)[snerk, even Wikipedia considers him to be an independent]‘is moving forward in the traditional manner with her nomination,’ committee spokeswoman Leslie Phillips told our colleague Stephen Barr.

“President Bush named Dudley to the OMB post last August, and her confirmation hearing was held in November. The Senate adjourned without voting on her nomination, which the White House later resubmitted.

“While in confirmation limbo, she has been serving as counselor to Clay Johnson III, a presidential buddy and the deputy director for management at the OMB.

“Before her first nomination, Dudley wrote about regulation for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, and her critics assailed her comments involving air bags, arsenic limits in drinking water and workplace injuries.

  36. bob (not the hacker) says:

He is allowed to contribute 2000 dollars to any and all campagns, the swiftboat liars were not a political campaign, they were/are a smear factory. this has already been pointed out in this thread. Kerry: I can understand a private citizen not wanting me to be president but instead of donating to a credible organization, you donated to unscrupulous liars and condemn us to four more years of hell which contradicts your thank God comment. This says a lot about your character and this country does not need someone like you representing the United States in any capacity. You’re the antithesis of what America is about. I thank you for you time Mr. Fux, I mean Fox.

He contributed to a 527 SMEAR GROUP that spread intentional lies, and disgusting propaganda. You know, like the b*llsh*t you spread. *ssh*le.

The fair tax is *racist*, because it hurts the poor and middle class the most, thereby giving an advantage to already rich white men. What makes you look foolish and more than a BIT childish, is that you come here ignorant, arrogant and act entirely out of hypocrisy. You’re a piece of sh*t little child. Grow up Kevin, you ignorant st*pid little *ssh*le.

Who ever said minorities can’t be rich? Some are. Just look at Oprah. The people that are hurt most by your FAT TAX b*llsh*t are those that are already poor, which in our current world is disproportionately minorities.

So you are the true raciest. Chew on that for a bit.
    Comment by Kevin — April 12, 2007 @ 4:16 pm

No, you are. You’re an ignorant st*pid racist pig, that reads into and fabricates mentally r*t*rded b*llsh*t strawmen out of what others say.

You’re a fool, an ignorant bigoted, and a useless piece of sh*t that should mind his own business for a change. *ssh*le.

If you think you have something of value to say, start your own blog. On here, you’re just an idiot that has nothing constructive or useful to say.

I’m also waiting on your apology for the claims that were against fox for contributing to the campaign of a candidate. That kind of smearing inaccurate comment is what I expect from an immoral, dishonest, bigoted liar like yourself though. You can’t face the truth about anything – coward.

  44. Kevin says:

You have no evidence that I’m a raciest. But your comment clearly was. So you are a racist. America is the land of opportunity. The trick is, that the individual has to take that opportunity. Regardless of race or religion. If you want to make something of yourself you have to put in the great effort to do so. And Many have. And a good portion of them minorities. So stop assuming that minorities can’t make it in America. Try and read the fair tax plan. Let go of your hate.

Actually it was your comment that was racist, as it was you that *presumed* I felt minorities couldn’t become rich. I never said, nor implied any such thing – only you did. Bigot.

America is the land of opportunity. The trick is, that the individual has to take that opportunity. Comment by Kevin — April 12, 2007 @ 4:33 pm

Or in the case of Bush, and most people that are wealthy, they inherit it, or are given it through the opportunity of wealthy investors. How many of the *new-money* do you think got there, without major capital investment from old white men? Do you really think Oprah got her billion from just her own money and skills? Someone *sponsored* her. That’s the way *capitalism* works. Those with capital decide who and where they’ll invest with, and generally, typically, and most commonly it’s with someone that looks like they do – white.

Regardless of race or religion. Comment by Kevin — April 12, 2007 @ 4:33 pm

Yeah, I just bet you go out of your way to invest in black and muslim businesses – don’t you sport?

If you want to make something of yourself you have to put in the great effort to do so. And Many have. And a good portion of them minorities. So stop assuming that minorities can’t make it in America. Try and read the fair tax plan. Let go of your hate. Comment by Kevin — April 12, 2007 @ 4:33 pm

Is that why such a small percentage of minorities belong in the wealthiest 10% of Americans? By *many*, how many wealthy minorities do you believe exist in this country?

Who said they can’t make it, what I said is that the cards are stacked against them, and your st*pid FAT TAX program makes it worse.

Let go of your hate *ssh*le, and stop trying to keep minorities from sharing in the pie with your st*pid ideology.

I think the whole point is that Fox represents the epitome of what’s going wrong with this country. Instead of contributing to a candidate he supports, he chose to take the low road and contributed to a group that launched negative (and dishonest) attack ads against a candidate he opposed.

Instead of building, he chose to tear down….

Name calling implies a dishonest labeling. In your case, calling you a bigot isn’t ‘name calling’, it’s speaking the truth. What you and your swiftboat friends did to Kerry was ‘name calling’, because it was dishonest. But since you prefer to ‘lie’, you can’t recognize the difference, and instead you prefer to call the other side a liar, while lying about it. You’re a hypocrite, a fraud, a fool, and an idiot.
