echoes Paul Krugman and takes the administration to task for politicizing its ranks with members of Pat Robertson’s far-right Regent University. Watch the video.
This ought to be a glowing recommendation of Regency’s quality of law student - but how do you word the college’s brochure to mention that former alumnus have gone on to respected positions of authority within government, and downplay the fact that former alums threatened to take the Fifth rather than testify? If you were a parent, this would be a huge red flag.
If you’re bored jake, by all means go away. take your fake persona and your plagiarized war record to some right wing blog where you’ll fit in. scumbag.
More people should be aware of the Robertson influence in the White House and if replaying the Maher video of Friday night means a few more people have become aware, then play it again and again.
150 young graduates of a 4th tier college and law school being employed in the White House in positions of influence and power over many with superior education and decades of experience, not to mention profoundly affecting US government is outrageous to say the least.
I advocate youthful minds and fresh thinking in all aspects of life, but the results of the ubiquitous employment of questionably educated, religion-dominated, inexperienced, politically influenced, and un-critical thinkers are going to affect all of us for years to come.
Jake is out of his element on TP (And on Earth as well!). He would be bored while reading “Dick and Jane See Spot Run” because it is on his advanced reading list. “10 Apples on Top” is more his speed.
The good thing is that the Regent hijinks are somewhat above board–they aren’t shy about what they’re doing (trying to corrupt America with their perverted ideas of Christianity). What’s really and truly frightening, as always, are the secret machinations of pseudo-religious zealots.
Want a real scare? Read the Rolling Stone article on the mass brainwashing of children that’s been taking place throughout America. This isn’t some small-scale Jesus camp in North Dakota stuff; these people want children to grow to become undercover moles in media and government, and they have “preached” to MILLIONS of youths already.
Don’t beat up on Jake too much—I too have noticed a slacking in relevance in TP, especially on weekends (although it remains my favorite blog). Some of this may be due to the White House’s strategy of releasing sensitive information on Friday at 6:30PM. I suggest that we bloggers shift our weekly cycle 48 hours to counter this strategy.
It doesn’t matter if TP is posting next week’s lunch menu for the Midland Texas middle school, jake deserves to be beat upon until he comes clean with who he really is, admits he stole a real veteran’s biography, and starts being honest in his arguments.
This kind of beating up on people with the bible has been going on since the country was invaded by euro’s after the lost italian, columbus.
native people got the shaft, i mean, the bible, while with their visions of “manifest destiny” white people stole everything and then have the nerve to call us “heathens” Feh, hypocrites! they must be stopped NOW.
