Civilians are main victims of attacks in Afghanistan.

According to a study by Human Rights Watch, there has been a sharp rise in civilian casualties in Afghanistan in the last 15 months. There “were 136 suicide attacks last year compared to 25 the year before. … The attacks killed 272 people and 531 injured.”

Civilians are also the main victims in Iraq, Darfur, Sri Lanka, Columbia, Guatemala, Brazil, Chad……………

    Better over there and here.

  3. Raven says:

By golly, you’re right, jakey, how could I have possibly neglected to mention the civilian casualties right here in the good ol’ USA?

  4. Jake says:

Obviously, mine is not a universal sentiment among Americans — for instance, the 9% who want to stop all funding for the war on terrorism would rather see 136 suicide attacks here in the U.S. — 272 Americans killed and 531 injured.

  5. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

Speaking of terrorist attacks in the U.S.: too bad Bush and his cronies did nothing to stop the worst terrorist attack ever to occur on U.S. soil.

  6. Jake says:

For the record, FDR allowed the “worst” attack : )

  7. Jay Randal says:

Bush Regime has turned Afghanistan into a hell-hole of carnage just like they did to Iraq.

Perhaps we’d be safer if the money paid to political hacks like you and the other Regent University grads was used on the war on terrorism.

Where in your twisted logic did you see anybody say they were for terrorism anywhere. The thread talks about how Afghanistan terrorism is UP not that we want to move it here.

  9. GSD says:

Jake, more people died on 9/11 than at Pearl Harbor. Oops. Bush allowed the worst attack on US soil.

I’m guessing you are referring to Pearl Harbor, which was an attack on a military target. Unprovoked, and inexcusable, yes.
We are discussing the death of civilians in this thread.
(You seem to be slightly more incoherent than usual for this time of the day, guess it’s rough to get going on Mondays, eh?)

  11. Baboo says:

I don’t really give a fig personally about US soldiers who die. Those US soldiers voluntarily chose the profession of hired killers. They kill for thrills and money, not because they are defending their country. I care about civilians, especially children, of any nationality or religion. I realise, however, that most Americans are infected with racism and nationalism and care only about American deaths and then only white ones, so I will gladly post any photos you can find of US casualties to pound home the cost of this war in suffering to Americans too.

P.S. thanks Baboo to your honesty.

Check out Jake’s Freudian slip. “over there and here” We all know you neocons want another 9/11 style attack here in the U.S, so you can declare marshall law. Scumbags.

Hey JAKE! Is Baboo here on your “ignore list” because he seems to be talking to neocon nutjobs like you instead of progressives who are against the war.

Go ahead Jake and sell him your story. We’re all waiting to hear. Try not to wimp out just this one time, okay.

  15. Jake says:

Technically, Hawaii was not “U.S. soil” either — it’s called an “analogy” people — look it up.

It’s pretty bad when he gets contradicted each and every time he hits the submit button now, isnt’ it?

It’s best just to shut up now, Jake.

Your handlers are not going to be happy about this, baby boy. What are you afraid of. Now your not going to defend the troops? This post contradicts everything else you’ve said here. You flip flop like a live fish but we know your heart is dead, traitor.

    Comment by Jake — April 16, 2007 @ 10:32 am

In your comment to Baboo you contradicted everything you posted and now you want to split hair over a typo. The same mistake you made the other day by the way. I guess you have talking points to copy and paste from.

Why do you traitors care more about Republicans than Americans. Isn’t that TREASON?

Jesus Jake, how’s that fourth grade Fox news education going. That would be “rather than”. T-H-A-N. Wow. Stick with trolling Jake. Cause if you have to argue a point, you’re pretty much dead in the water.

He thinks terrorism and war deaths are great as long as its far away from him. It’s people like Jake who you are speaking to. We’re all on his ignore list but I think he’ll talk to you.

Jake made this same “mistake” the other day. I think he is copying and pasting this little ditty off his talking points.

Notice he’s afraid of Baboo. His scared shitless self is probably hiding under a desk now.

  25. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

For the record, Pearl Harbor was not a terrorist attack. Care to try again?

  26. Democrat Soldier says:

#22 – Actually, Jake is NOT a total turd!

Jake just has the problem of falling for the spin and blindly believing in the talking points that the neo-cons are pushing.

If we leave Iraq, like the Iraqi’s want the US to do, then the insurgents would have no reason to continue fighting and killing US soldiers and themselves. Before Jake decides to put words in my mouth, I do not believe that peace will spontaneously take over in Iraq once we leave. it will, however, remove the target on our collective backs that all the insurgents are going for.

If we move back to our first war, Afghanistan, maybe we could actually fix that major screw-up. We’ve screwed the Afghani’s in the 80’s when we left them high and dry after supporting the Taliban in the fight against the USSR, and we left them high and dry again in 2003 when we took our attention away from the war on terror and went “nation building” in Iraq.

Once we leave Iraq, we can begin focusing on the terrorists again and not waste any more time on the failed attempt at nation building.

  27. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

    Bush agrees:

Standing upon the ashes of the worst terrorist attack on American soil, Sept. 14, 2001, President Bush pledges that the voices calling for justice from across the country will be heard.

    but, oh well…

  29. Jake says:

    Baboo:

Did you post a question to me?

  30. gorn by any other name says:

Jake Gannon, if you’d stop servicing Dick Cheney for five minutes, you’d know the answer.

And people thought the reason you’re under a desk in the White House is from fear of a terrorist attack…
