Judiciary Committee wants Paulose interview.

“The House Judiciary Committee wants to interview U.S. Attorney for Minnesota Rachel Paulose, a former assistant to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, … and others based on an initial round of interviews and on a review of documents released by the Justice Department.” Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) “said in the letter that the interviews would be voluntary. A spokeswoman for Paulose could not be reached for comment after regular business hours Monday.” Background on Paulose HERE.

UPDATE: Politico has details on all eight officials Conyers wants to interview.

I bet if it’s voluntary she doesn’t do it.

  2. MrHaney says:

Paulose is only a small part of Rove’s “voter fraud” scam that will be useless since GOP candidates can’t hope to get 10-15% of the vote in the 2008 elections–thanks to Karl Rove. If you thought it was tough being a Republican in 2006–wait until 2008 . . . thanks, Karl!

  3. Raven says:

There are so many, now caught up in this meltdown of the judicial system, I don’t think it matters if some refuse to cooperate initially.
The evidence to come out will snowball of its own accord, and figures like Paulose will get a subpeona the next time around…

  4. veritas says:

This meltdown involves a huge number of people; it makes sense that they are all scurrying around like rats in a maze. This could mean the end of each of their careers and/or prison time.

  5. veritas says:

These few initial “stonewallers” will eventually realize that the ship is going down and, unless they cooperate for some form of immunity, they’re toast.

  6. veritas says:

And, it’s become increasingly more evident that this administration calculatedly hired very naive, inexperienced personnel so they would be flattered by the appointment; believe the lies about themselves that they are in any way qualified; and, much to their chagrin, ultimately realize that they’ve been “patsied” by a group of elder thugs with my experience at all forms of chicanery. It’s not easy to accept that you’ve been had – particularly when it has to do with your professional career.

  7. Briseadh na Faire says:

yea….Conyers is asking for voluntary “interviews,” not even testimony…what happened to the Rep. Conyers who was calling for impeachment hearings a year and a half ago? Why the hell did he back off right after the ‘06 elections?

fine, Conyers. Hold your “interviews.” keep us entertained. Continue to let Bush have a free hand.

Meanwhile 100 American kids get blown to pieces each month because you’re too chicken to confront Bush head on.

Police beat Putin foes at rally

MOSCOW — Riot police beat and detained protesters as thousands defied an official ban and attempted to stage a rally Saturday against President Vladimir V. Putin’s government, which opponents accuse of rolling back freedoms Russians have enjoyed since the end of Soviet communism.

    Tragedy at Virginia Tech

Two shooting incidents on campus Monday left 33 dead. Thirty-one, including the gunman, died at Norris Hall; two died at West Ambler Johnston Hall. Fifteen other victims from Norris are being treated at area hospitals.

Officials are in the process of identifying victims and notifying next-of-kin. Names will not be released until that process is complete.

The university remains closed Tuesday. Essential personnel are to report for work. Classes are canceled.

A public gathering will be held Tuesday at Cassell Coliseum at 2 p.m.

This will be used to destroy the 2nd Amendment so that there can be no hope of popular uprisings during the soon to come US Military Dictatorship. Soon our protests will resemble the ones in Russia. Just like the Patriot Act tampering with the 2nd Amendment will prevent citizens from protecting themselves.

Many believe that the Federalies had a role during 9-11 so it is not a reach for them to disarm Americans if and when we wind up under Marshall Law. If you give up your guns there would be no way to stop TPTB from marching everyone they want to labor camps.

Get a grip on the prize here people. I have said it many times here. We are not going to pull out of Iraq and we are going to expand the war. At some point there will be a draft since escalation demands it. Taking guns does not make it safer just like invading Iraq does not stop terrorists from attacking on US soil even if they are working for the Federalies.

Those “naive, inexperienced personnel” are gaming the system, angling for the highest position they can get before Bush’s term expires.

Considering they’re coming from a tier three or four law school, I’d say they’ve done pretty well at gaming the system. After all, they’ve been given power an authority over much more intelligent and experienced people and have used that to run roughshod over the career civil servants.

All that, from a “Christian” law school.

LIHOP = Let it happen on purpose.

MIHOP = Made it happen on purpose.

Remember those two acronyms for this.

Many believe that 9-11 was allowed to or made to happen by the government. This allowed the Military to assume leadership in the US. Federal Patriot Act One & Two were some of the first legal implementations of this control. As a result the Bill of Rights has been damaged.

One of the last amendments is the 2nd Amendment and now with this event the citizens will clamor for a gun ban. Some people are in denial. So, tomorrow was to be a hearing of AG Alberto Gonzales but that is postponed. Bush will appear reluctant and in the end will grab all of the guns.

Now a ‘Black Operation’ is a military or police action conducted to influence individuals, citizens, groups, states, countries, etc. Fear is a powerful motivator and the military and police know how to use it. If this was a black op it would fit with a pattern. Bush wants to invade Iraq and Blammo 9-11 happens. Bush needs to get re-elected and Blammo Osama phones home. AG needs a diversion and Blammo 30+ dead shooting spree.

Remember 9-11?? After some time many were beating the ‘revenge drum’. The US military was positioned to invade Afghanistan before congress authorized war powers. Now we no longer control our government.

Think about today and what is sure to happen regarding guns. The 2nd Amendment compels us to defend ourselves. Turning in your gun means you have NO PROTECTION. That school banned all guns last year. In the future criminals and cops can run over a disarmed population faster with a bigger body count then if the would be victims were armed.

You’re overreaching a bit on the 2nd Amendment. Most people would like to forget the opening clause:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State…” The purpose of the right to bear arms was to supply the State with a well regulated militia. At the time, the militia was necessary to protect the borders from incursions from without. It was also necessary to put down the occasional rebellion (see Whiskey Rebellion, for example). And the final concern was to protect the State from an overreaching Federal Government. That concern was defeated with the South’s loss in the Civil War. Currently, the Federal Government has statutory authority to assume control over all States’ Militias.

If the 2nd Amendment were absolute, then there could be no Constitutional authority for Federal regulation of firearms. Yet it is illegal to own all kinds of weapons.

There is no peace through violence, except the peace of the graveyard.

Becuz savannah doesnt have trees. At the moment the beings that left the trees in order to hunt, began using their back extremities to see the preys, they began using the hands. The development of the hand is directly related with the development of the brain. Some millions years later, bingo! you have cluster bombs all over civilians. I agree with you. We are animals, but we have the best survival organ ever developed in the history of planet Earth: the brain.

We are but of matter. The real question then is when did higher thought begin? Brains do not survive as bone has thru the millions of years.

Thought, I think, began before the dinosaurs. From the first light, the bang, that dust, that traversed a black hole. Yes, Indeed, thought comes from cosmic dust. The earth accreates solar dust and in that dust comes thought.

Aye, for this is true. Doubt me not.

I don’t know how that happened and I stand corrected on a spelling error Martial is what it should read.
I doubt a spelling error will make your choice to disarm any less foolish. You still don’t understand that things in whatever country you are in are going to get worse and worse. I can’t stand Bush and he might be the Antichrist but getting rid of him will change nothing at this point. Odds are we are facing extinction and I’m sure the Military knows that already. A good scout always prepares for the worst and hopes for the best.

I don’t fear death and that is a pretty silly comment since you know nothing about me. In my life I have been dead twice. Once in a car wreck and the first time at birth though I don’t remember that one. I was shot one time passing through my bicep when asking directions in a bad area. I was stabbed while attempting to break up a fight. So that is some of the stuff on my journey.

I hunt, fish, trap and plant in an effort to eat the foods I like and remain in practice should our supermarkets fail us. None of you (maybe some) are prepared for starvation or cleaning dirty water without fire. Survival skills are not part of an industrialized world. The same goes for your killing skills. The cops and army will not show up till your dead unless they decide they want to sport kill you.
30+ people in several hours died today all reported to be victims of ONE man who in the end shot himself. For hours he killed and the police can be seen behind the doors of the police cars. Since they are the GUNNERS that get the bucks when were they going to ram the building with the tank they had there? BATF agents had no problem burning the Branch Davidians and this was just ONE man.

Imagine if just one of those inside had a gun? He or she could have made a difference that the police didn’t in spite of their training, armaments and sheer numbers. Put yourself in that building while you are watching the murders. Then the killer puts his gun to your head and whatever crap you say here is irrelevant. You wish it was at least fair, but then so do most victims. If you had a gun you might have been able to kill him before it became your turn for execution.

When you served in Korea is more to the point. We know it wasn’t when there was a “shooting war” going on. I’m sorry to hear that your mother is a sexual offender that lives in a garage.

    Saywho, you sound a tad….paranoid.
Bushco isn’t about to recind the 2nd Amendment anytime soon – there would be too many people up in arms (ahem).
In fact, wasn’t there a call on TV saying just that…no-one will take your precious guns away.

I don’t recall anyone one here calling for it as a knee-jek reaction to the VA Tech tragedy either.

Calm down, and go check on your years supply of beans.
BTW, did you know Tim, or do you just look up to him?

I’d say handguns are already a moot point against the Star Wars weaponry that the military has already developed, FOR USE AGAINST CITIZENS!

All you need are some IED’s and a couple of old russian rifles and the streets of the US will turn into the streets of Iraq.

The biggest baddest army in the world defeated by a few thousand fighters. Unbeleivable.

Sooner or later they are going to have to come into some cities that are already war zones. See Philadelphia.

Looking at whats going on in Iraq they wont have a chance.

I’m curious about why you guys would imply that Politico is a credible site to link to.

You guys enjoy a position at the top tier of political blogs; yet you link to incredulous sites like politico, who have time and again guised ‘credibility’ with hackery.

Please stop lending sites like politico the aura of credibility. They have little if none and should be required to earn it rather than enjoy the perpetuation it’s guise as a result of outside linking.

dude, philly is fine. yes, it does have a relatively high murder rate, but relative to san francisco or topeka, not baghdad. i don’t need to walk around followed by Apaches, Blackhawks and cadre of soldiers.

Dude Philly isn’t the problem. It’s those Indiana farm markets that need martial law. Think I’m kidding ask rep pence.

I gotta agree on this point… After as many times as Politico has been found to be wrong, are we really going to believe it as a fact without other sources?
