Oversight committee considers Rice subpoena.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will meet tomorrow to consider whether to subpoena Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who has repeatedly blown off Rep. Henry Waxman’s (D-CA) requests for information on her pre-war claims about Iraq’s WMD programs.

“Dead Eye” Rice eats subpoenas for breakfast. She will go and lie for her lover George W Bush.

It’s about time these monarchists were made to submit themselves to the people. Their arrogance and elitism is downright repulsive.

They should all be subpeonaed and forced to appear on their knees, and to apologize to the American people for their incompetence and malfeasance.

It’s all about stalling and dragging out all investigations until the next election. Cheney/rove/bush are not leading anything now. They are in their fox holes tossing out distraction bombs as fast as possible. They must be spending an inordinate amount of time working on an exit strategy that will keep them out of jail and rich.

Subpoena Condi’s immediately. She’s probably blown him off because she’s been out buying shoes – expensive shoes – just like she did in Katrina when people were perishing.

  18. veritas says:

I believe it will be a case of “fried rice” since Condi’s complicit on the pre-war lies. She’s fried on this one!

Condi will look hot in an orange jumpsuit.

If she were to actually give that excuse, I’d accept it.

  22. SKdeA says:

She needs to find the orange shoes to match the jumpsuit…

There’s no wonder Secretary Rice is stonewalling. Regading the bogus case for war with Iraq; this is the main attraction folks, the headline act!
I couldn’t be more pleased that Rep. Waxman is pursuing this issue and I certainly hope he sees it through!
It all comes down to Bush’s SOTU address on 1-28-03 and those infamous 16 words, “…Saddam Hussein…sought…uranium from Africa.” First they were in the address, then out, then back in, and then finally retracted after Joseph Wilson’s bombshell NY Times op-ed debunked the whole sham. Since that time it’s come to light that the whole ruse was based on forged documents tied to the fugitive spy and neocon darling Ahmed Chalabi, among others. Not to mention the price Valerie Plame Wilson and her colleagues had to pay in the process.
Before the mighty 110th Congress, no one from the Bush Admin has been made to answer definitively why those 16 words were in the address, then out, then back in; until now!
    I wonder why? Stay tuned…

It’s all about the aluminum tubes, people ….

From the NY Times, “How the White House Embraced Disputed Arms Intelligence”
By DAVID BARSTOW, WILLIAM J. BROAD and JEFF GERTH

    Published: October 3, 2004

Regarding Iraq’s purchase of aluminum tubes:

“The tubes were “only really suited for nuclear weapons programs,” Condoleezza Rice, the president’s national security adviser, explained on CNN on Sept. 8, 2002. “We don’t want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud.”

But almost a year before, Ms. Rice’s staff had been told that the government’s foremost nuclear experts seriously doubted that the tubes were for nuclear weapons, according to four officials at the Central Intelligence Agency and two senior administration officials, all of whom spoke on condition of anonymity. The experts, at the Energy Department, believed the tubes were likely intended for small artillery rockets.”

This is her big lie and an act of treason.

Actually, Rice has been baiting Waxman for a month now. I for one, can’t get enough of it.

Waxman is a bully. Rice has already strung this out and succeeded in dividing the committee along partisan lines. That much is clear from the reporting. So she’s got the Committee Republicans on her side.

Waxman was trying to get her to agree to come before his gimcrack Show Trial voluntarily, but methinks Rice wants to force his hand. Waxman doesn’t want to subpoena Rice, but Condi actually wants a subpoeana. That strips away any veneer of bipartisan legitimacy to this kangaroo court that Waxman is running and gives Rice her Ollie North moment, which is what Condi, and Karl Rove, are looking for.

Waxman is walking into a trap. He was supposed to send out the subpoena today, but he blinked. So, quite obviously, he’s hesitating. Rice knows that Waxman’s case is a huge pinata of bullshit, and Waxman knows it, too. What Waxman doesn’t know is that Rice knows that Waxman knows it’s bullshit, and that she’ll embarrass his ass on national television.

You all have been making the mistake of thinking that Rice is scared of Big Bad Henry Waxman. Were she scared of Waxman, she would have rushed to make nice to him a month ago. Instead, she’s done everything she could to bait him and wound his pride.

Once Henry issues the subpoena, he loses the Committee Republicans. Condi has won the war right then and there. They’ll be in her corner, not his. So will the entire Republican Party, and much of the American electorate. She’s popular in the country; try to remember that most of the country isn’t like your Moonbat Left or our Wingnut Right. Condi appeals to the vast middle. Henry will find that out, much to his sorrow.

She wants to piss him off.

Ask your liberal selves; if she’s so scared of Henry Waxman, and if she has so much to hide, why is Condi Rice playing with Henry Waxman like a tabby cat plays with a ball of string?

    Arrest Condi
(The Senate has the power to do so — it says so right here on senate.gov)
