Bush ‘pleased’ with Gonzales testimony.»

Statement from White House spokeswoman Dana Perino:

President Bush was pleased with the Attorney General’s testimony today. After hours of testimony in which he answered all of the Senators’ questions and provided thousands of pages of documents, he again showed that nothing improper occurred. He admitted the matter could have been handled much better, and he apologized for the disruption to the lives of the U.S. Attorneys involved, as well as for the lack of clarity in his initial responses. The Attorney General has the full confidence of the President, and he appreciates the work he is doing at the Department of Justice to help keep our citizens safe from terrorists, our children safe from predators, our government safe from corruption, and our streets free from gang violence.

President Bush must have been watching a different hearing. Several “very loyal Republicans made it clear to CNN that they were really dripping with disappointment.”

I give you mr sh*t for brains President Bush.

  3. ForTruth Says:

It was a great performance as somewhere between 45 and 72 “I can’t recalls” were given.

  4. Republicans are the Fear and Smear Party Says:

Only Bush could be “pleased” with his incompetent testimony.

  5. Spudge_Boy Says:

    What a dumb fu*k.

Yea, Gonzo did splendid. The republicans that want to get re-elected are going to start running away from this retard.

Besides, who gives a fu*k what Bush said? He is the one that gave the orders to fire USAs for political reasons.

Any of you trolls out there? This is why we hate Bush. He has no footing in reality. He is in la la land just like you.

  6. Joefriday Says:

Heckofajob Gonzie-should be toast by next Friday.

  7. Erroll Says:

As with Richard Nixon loyalty, not doing the right thing, means everything to this president.

  8. dixie blood Says:

Abu Gonzo is a FACIST PHUCK!! With a Christianist twist!!!

BTW, Senatorium Oral Snatch is a completely useless phuck too!!!

  9. Squidbilly Says:

A heck of a job indeed.

Gonzo will go bye-bye soon. Into the trash heap that is the Bush legacy.

  11. mimsi Says:

I’m sorry… Gonzales has something on Bush. He has to. That is the only logical explanation for Bush’s continued unfaltering unwaivering support(short of Bush having some kind of serious brain dysfunction and severe difficulty with comprehension - or he is simply flat out utterly corrupt, incompetent and clueless himself and words and principles mean nothing).

  12. dixie blood Says:

For a former judge in TX he’s a really little, shakey, talkey, buttwad!!!

  13. Bluedog49 Says:

Alberto could have dropped his pants and pissed on the table and Bush would still have said the same thing.

  14. ForTruth Says:

    mimsi,

Another theory was that Bush will not be able get the Senate to confirm another personal attorney like he has in Gonzo. Gonzo has covered for Bush for years in Texas. Now Gonzo has legitimized all of Bush’s breaking of the law. The signing statements, the torture, the wiretapping, etc. Bush knows he’s up shit creek without his personal attorney general and personal Dept of Justice.

  15. TheHeathen Says:

    re #11
Yes, Gonzo does have something on Our Dear Leader. Years ago, he intervened to have Dubya removed from jury duty, otherwise his DUI and resisting arest (also while drunk) records would have been part of the public record. This was before the 2000 elections. They’re as thick as stink on shit.

Whatever President Bush is taking, I want some!

  17. Tom Says:

GDumbya missed part of Gonzo’s testimony (probably about 30 “I can’t recall”s-worth of it) because he was giving a town hall meeting.

He was at his articulate best for the event. Here are a couple gems from the horse’s mouth:

“There are jobs Americans aren’t doing. … If you’ve got a chicken factory, a chicken-plucking factory, or whatever you call them, you know what I’m talking about.”

“There are some similarities, of course” between
Iraq and Vietnam. “Death is terrible.”

“I’ve been in politics long enough to know that polls just go poof at times.”

As he has before, Bush told the story about how his first presidential decision was to pick a rug for the Oval Office, a task he quickly cast to his wife. He told her to make sure the rug reflected optimism “because you can’t make decisions unless you’re optimistic that the decisions you make will lead to a better tomorrow.” Later, when he talked about his hope for succeeding in Iraq, Bush said, “Remember the rug?”

  18. Gregor Samsa Says:

    After watching Gonzales’ testimony:

    Pres Bush is pleased.

Everyone else, even Republican in Congress, are surprised at the level of incompetence displayed by the AG.

It’s the same pattern throughout this administration.

    Two more years… ::sigh::

  19. VerbalKint Says:

Bubble boy. What a f*cking idiot. When will Republicans see that he is dragging their party to destruction?

Please don’t. I’d have to put out a contract on your ass….

  21. The Eyewitness Muse Says:

It’s kind of frightening, really. Given the level of competence in the Bush Administration, Gonzales’ by not falling out of his chair or not raising his left hand when sworn in, or some such gaffe, is the hero of the day.

Yes expectations are far lower since dubya became the decider.

But his AG was the butt of the joke at EWM:
Gonzo Goes Whacko: Will Plead “Insanity” at Senate Hearing

…To bolster his defense, Gonzales will appear at the hearing wearing pajamas “with a little red elephant pattern” and paper slippers. An aide will be positioned nearby with a drool cup for heightened effect.

“If you’ll excuse the pun, he’s been working like a fool on this act,” said our source. “This morning he climbed the statue of Lady Justice and when visitors entered the building he’d pull back the curtain John Ashcroft had installed to cover her breast and scream ‘now show me yours.’”…

He really does live in a bubble, doesn’t he?

    Tragic….for us….and Iraq.

  23. Liberty Lover Says:

He approves because he doesn’t have a clue…

  24. Sharon Says:

Bull shit bush approves because he is a delusional sociopath..Maybe even a skitsophrenic(sp) can’t spell it but know what it is and I know one…Scary stuff and it’s running and ruening our country….Blessings

    family

    friends
    co-workers
    significant others

    …keep sleeping with your frogs…

…and you too are as cursed as THEY are…

  26. dale62 Says:

Bush approves because that is the way this administration always does business. Keep throwing out the “all is well” mantra and try to ride out the storm. Chances are another urgent scandal or controversy will surface to take this one off the front burner. Or, if the truth finally comes out, dump the guy quickly, avoid straight answers and responsiblity, and change the focus by making a new controversial appointment for the vacated position… It’s all business as usual.

  27. kasinca Says:

Dubya is the drunk who will continue to go down that road convinced that the sun will come up in the west tomorrow or something will change to make him be right after all. What a freaking dumbass…and the 28%ers who apologize for him are dumber than and sack of rocks…knuckle dragging troglodytes.

  28. Marie Says:

What criteria does Bush use to pronounce such judgment? His own qualifications?
Bush is the dry drunk, the ADD affected boy king with arrrested development, who wouldn’t know the truth if it hit him between the eyes.

    MURDEROUS WAR CRIMINAL
COXUCKER PUNK TRAITOR TO THE USA (TM)

  31. guy2k Says:

What Bush meant to say that he was “pleased in theory” with the testimony–since he didn’t actually see it!

    Dana Preino this afternoon:
“Of course, the President has not seen any of that testimony. As I told you, he’s had a busy morning. . .”

Or, maybe the president just meant to say, “I’m going to follow my AG’s lead here and just lie.”

  32. Sheriff Hunter Says:

heads on stakes is what i say! and please don’t misapproprate the good GONZO name !
