I disagree with both of your comments which relegate Kristal to a shill for this Administration.

He is a lot more important than that! In fact it might be turned around to say that he is one of the driving forces behind BushCo. A puppet he is not. In these interviews he is defending his own views and ideology not BushCos.
And of course Irving Kristol, his father, is one of the founders of the neo-con movement originating with Leo Strauss and using Machiavellian ideology.

Of course there is a difference. In WWII, the US was fighting sovereign countries that sought to capture other lands. When they surrendered, the war was over.

In Iraq, the US is occupying a country. The rulers are captured or dead. The population increasingly resents the US, and the situation worsens by the month, with 50,000 leaving each month.
