I have got to get back to silkscreening more liberial T shirts with stupid saying on them . I tryed to do some conservative one but they didn’t sell they were to intelligent.

Comment by Bob F. — April 23, 2007 @ 5:54 pm

Is this an liberal posing as a conservative to make them look bad? No, I don't think so -- most conservatives really are that stupid and illiterate.

As a Republican I totally agree. More Democrats need to speak out like Reid.

Why?

The Republicans want a landslide in 2008. Think McGovern ‘72. Reid and other Democrats are just what is required for a Republican landslide.

Aren't you the same morons who got your asses kicked in 2006, all the while proclaiming that the U.S. had become a one-party nation?

I had no idea there was this many angry people on the left. I thought the only angry people were on the right (where I am btw).

These "I've never talked to a liberal before" posts are quite funny, while being sadly indicative of the reality of so many of the clueless right.

Can you quote the full Buckley comment, kasinca? I had not heard about that before.

Ignorance is no excuse. And given that you have nothing else, you might as well end it all now.

Reid's comments are treasonous. Had LTG Petreous said those same comments we would want his immediate retirement. Should we expect less of Senator Reid? He should resign or NV should recall him.

It hasn't been said enough. And it should be shouted from the mountaintops. We are losing, and if nothing changes, we will lose. We cannot control the situation in Iraq. Deploying more troops (like, 150,000 to 200,000 more troops) might bring Iraq under control, but there is no way to actually do this. We have simply made too many mistakes. This is an unpleasant fact, and not the sort of thing you want to tell a soldier back from his tour of duty in Iraq, but it is a fact nonetheless.

Re: global warming: Strato-spear is clearly correct here. Reducing carbon emissions is a good idea on which everyone can agree. Do you need to know anything about the science of climate change to know that you are in favor of reducing pollution? The fact that this past winter was a cold one up north (and pleasantly cool down here) matters not.

I have a couple of friends with bad cases of Bush Derangement Syndrome. They cannot go 30 minutes without some sort of Bush bash. I would say crack but they are not joking. They find no humor in what they are saying.

Until I read this blog, I had no idea of the depth and irrationality of their hatred of Bush.

I now realize that a 20+ year friendship has cooled because one of the friends simply cannot and will not socialize with anyone who voted for
Bush, even those of us who only voted for him once. We are just "Bushies," judged pathetically inferior human beings because we will not swallow the Democratic party line hook, line and sinker (or if you prefer - Kerry, Pelosi and Reid). The fact that we take a similarly skeptical view toward the Republican party line matters not. Because Bush is deemed evil, rather than "sadly mistaken," "Bushies" are also considered "evil," worthy of nothing but contempt and derision.

And now I fear that the other friendship - which goes back four decades - is in jeopardy because I will not join in the constant Bush-bashing.

I could care less how these friends vote. I do not expect my friends to agree with me on everything, especially topics on which we are unlikely to be fully informed (seriously, how many of us REALLY know the status of situations abroad?). Moreover, because I am open-minded, I generally like to listen to other viewpoints, at least when the viewpoints are not filled with irrational venom.

What is most puzzling is that these friends really should not have a care in the world. Both have net worths in the $5M range. Neither has to work, though both do, and the Bush years have been kind to them (particularly considering the fact that when you have a 7-figure net worth, stock market performance is an issue that matters to them).

I could understand someone who has been struggling over the past few years becoming frustrated and searching for a scapegoat. But multi-millionaires acting like the world, including theirs, has gone to hell? Refusing to acknowledge that there is any good news out there - and the bad news is all Bush's fault?

Is it that they have so much to lose that they are paranoid about losing it?

Or is it just good old fashioned liberal rich guy guilt?

And more importantly, will they get over it in 2009 when Bush leaves office?

My first foray into the liberal blogging world. Boy do you people need to take some prozac or what? That is with the exception of this person (Vox Clams)above me (nice honest post). I so love you guys (Bush lied, people died crowd). I think I might come up with a good slogan, try this one on for size... Edwards lied, his hair is dyed (I mean $400 and all). Here are some points for you idiots if you ever want to stay/get anywhere in this world (politically speaking):

1) Embrace some "wet" work. That would be war/killing for you lay people. You all think W has gone to far. My ilk thinks your hero, Bill "I like thick ankles" Clinton didnt go far enough. I mean letting Bin Laden get out of the Sudan alive probably would have only saved 3000+ of our citizens. Nice missle lob on the Chinese embassy though!

2) Learn some history. You guys should read about your soul mates from 1930's Europe. Only 50 million dead because pacifists and whiners such as yourselves ruled politics.

3) Actually admit to yourselves that you are arrogant, class/race based snobs. How many african-american friends do most of you white liberals have? Then, while you are at it, admit that people like Al Sharpton are idiots. People like Colin Powell are not.

4) Quit being so stupid (part 1). You have the Republicans on the ropes and the best you can do is Hillary, Obama, Headwards, et al. I mean didnt we just have to suffer with Gore and Kerry. Those guys were horrible. Kerry snowboarding and windsurfing didnt win with mainstream America. How in the hell do you think Edwards and his multi million dollar mansion will do it.

5) Quit being so stupid (part 2). Hollywood is not your friend. Rosie Oddball is just that, and gross and disgusting. Alec "little Pig" Baldwin obviously has issues. I could go on and on with this one.

6) Quit being so stupid (part 3). Global Warming is a farce. Taking care of the environment, protecting natural resources, etc. is not. By the way it is snowing here in Colorado tonight.

I could go on and on. Time for bed now. Just some thoughts to ponder!

I too wandered into this food fight by mistake. Well, not exactly by mistake - thank you very little, Glen. Educational, I must say.

In any event, I am the classic swing voter - from Florida. For example, in the governor's race I voted for the Democrat this time, the Republican the last time. My vote in the 2008 Presidential election is up for grabs - as are the votes of a lot of Instapundit's regular readers, by the way.

This morning's St. Pete Times ran the the most persuasive "withdraw from Iraq" editorial that I have read. It argued that the war has been won - rather handily. The U.S. military was charged with overthrowing Hussein. It overthrew Hussein. It then went on to stabilize the country until a new Iraqi government could be elected and installed. The elections took place and the new government is in place. Mission accomplished.

The author went on to argue that the current mission is overexpanding the U.S. role inappropriately (sticking our neck into Iraqi domestic squabbles), and risking failure as well as exorbitant cost, etc..

The writer is clearly correct in noting that the original military action was a resounding success.

The writer is also correct in questioning whether the cost of the current efforts to support the new government are worth the benefit.

That is the point worth debating - for what purposes should the U.S. military remain involved in Iraq, if any.

If the point is how best to bash Bush, then Reid has the right tact - simply call everything a massive failure, claim all is lost and blame it on Bush.

We swing voters decide elections.

We do not like negative campaigns, especially when no alternative is offered.

The more irrational Bush-bashing we hear and read, the more likely we are to support the GOP.

Rational arguments, on the other hand, get our attention.

We swing voters MIGHT vote for a Democrat.

However, we are unlikely to vote for a Democrat unless he or she seriously distances himself or herself from the Senator from Nevada.

Repo-whores-suk

Can you point to a single military defeat in Iraq?

And if so, how can that be an indication a war was lost?

I don't see the Iraqi army going toe-to-toe with our military. Just a bunch of maladjusted religious freaks who are lucky when they inflict casualties and nothing more than criminals when they attack markets and schools.

Just wanted to make sure intellectual honesty was something you practiced or not. Maybe we should talk about the Civil War and the first few hours of the Normandy invasion so you can acquire some perspective that is accurate and not clouded by your public education.

Hack.

Irate Marine in Ramadi Responds to 'War is Lost' Message
Mon Apr 23 2007 13:07:1 ET

From PatDollard.com:

This Email To Me, Harry, And America, Direct From A Grunt On The Front Lines Of Ramadi, Is Just Hours Old.

view from OP Horea, “Most Dangerous Spot On Earth”, Downtown Ramadi. I no shit watched several terrorists die, on several different days, on this small strip of asphalt. We also took many IED strikes on it. This photo is from Corporal Rock.

Today, from Corporal Tyler Rock in an outpost in downtown Ramadi. His first sentence is in response to an email from me:

“yeah i know how you feel. its going to be very weird leaving this place and going back to america. weve been here for almost an entire year and have lived in the center of it the whole time. its crazy that when we got here it was so hectic and now its calmed down so much. so it was awesome to be able to see that turn out.

yeah news worth reporting…. well ramadi was once dubbed by everyone as the worst city in the world. but we have done such a great job here that all the families in the area have worked with us on driving out the insurgency and that we work directly with the IA and the IP’s. the city has been cleaned up so well that the IP’s do most of the patrols now and we go out with them to hand out candy and toys to the children. you can tell that the people want us here to protect them from the thugs and gangs (insurgents). granted they would rather have peace and quiet but they know that if we aren't here they will be thrown around by the insurgents.

a good example is this one mission we did. long story short we got blown up in multiple buildings and had to run into a families house. i spent my christmas holidays covered in ash from the mortar fire and the IED’s, sleeping under a dirty rug i found in the house. everyone was sleeping way to close for comfort just to stay warm. anyways. a family was there and they obviously didn't want us there. at least at first. the daughters were very sick so our corpsman treated them. they didn't have electricity so we got them a generator for power, they were cold so we got them gas heaters, we got them food and water and then we gave them $500. by the end of the week long visit with them we were drinking tea with them. when we left we cleaned their house better than it was when we got there. i even have pictures with the family. they told us that they liked Marines and they would help us as much as they could and they gave us some information on the insurgents in the area. we ended up catching a HUGE target down the road from thier house because of it.

yeah and i got a qoute for that douche harry reid. these families need us here. obviously he has never been in iraq. or at least the area worth seeing. the parts where insurgency is rampant and the buildings are blown to pieces. we need to stay here and help rebuild. if iraq didn't want us here then why do we have IP’s voluntering everyday to rebuild their cities. and working directly with us too. same with the IA’s. it sucks that iraqi’s have more patriotism for a country that has turned to complete shit more than the people in America who drink starbucks everyday. we could leave this place and say we are sorry to the terrorists. and then we could wait for 3,000 more American civilians to die before we say “hey that's not nice” again. and the sad thing is after we WIN this war. people like him will say he was there for us the whole time.
and for messages back home. i have a wife back home who is going through a tough time. i just can't wait to be back home and see everyone. haha and i can't wait to go back home and get some starbucks. i love it when those people serve me. hahaha”

Let Reid speak! The more he opens his trap the more the American people can hear what an empty suit he is; he is a walking pile of nothing. And what an orator! What a firebrand! This milk-toast nose picker whose son's are incredibly rich lobbyists should step down from his majority leader position and sit on the back bench where he belongs. Talk about the Peter Principle. Harry Reid could care less about winning or losing in Iraq. He only cares about winning elections and making his boys rich. I hope they bury him in Yucca Valley.
