Missing the point on Global Warming.... No there is a some we can do now to prevent the planet's destruction in the next century. More importantly, for now we need to stop the insane amounts of pollution and toxins going into the atmosphere. People, when the cancer rate continues to rise exponentially, when TV commercials are full of cancer treatment ads, mankind has a little problemo, and it is not the danger of dikes breaking in Holland. The cancer rate is soaring. The cancer rate is soaring. Hello. Hello. China and globalization are a disaster with this administration at the wheel. The FDA is overrun. Toxic food is coming into this country via the scum sucking Chinese like a wave. No one gives a shit.

RAL, if you want to continue this discussion, please pick out a couple of major points made by the articles you have linked, and then argue for them *in your own words*. Don't expect me to do your homework for you.

So go ahead -- pick out what you believe the strongest LaRouche arguments against global warming are, and then make a case for them *in your own words*. You should not expect me to spend hours researching and analyzing material that you spend just a few seconds linking to. If you want to make a case for LaRouche's material, then you are going to have to make an honest effort to advance LaRouche's arguments, I repeat, *in your own words*.

Schlesinger is just another member of the Bush Election Machine given to McCain in exchange for the "get out of jail free" card he gave Bush and the rest just last fall. It seems fitting: The Bush Election Machine replaces it's current s... for brains head with the Manchurian Candidate.

I suppose these 17,000 scientists are all in the pay of the oil lobby.

Wow! Now that sounds like a conspiracy theory even a crank like caerbannog would be proud of...

p.s. I am not a libertarian. I am an FDR Democrat.

caerbannog

And why don't you grow up and start answering the tough questions posed in these articles instead of stamping your feet with your pudhy little fingers in your ears. Clearly, you are no scientist, just another loud mouthed hack - and a nasty one with a small mind at that.

And as for you swampgas

If we conducted "science" by the 95% consensus rule - i.e. public opinion - then the world would still be flat, and the sun would be revolving around it once per day. Sometimes (in fact by definition, almost always), the controversial view of causality turns out to be the truth. But as with all prior dark ages, just like the one we are about to experience with full force now, if this idiocy continues much longer, the irrational forces of mass panic and superstition take over and drown the voice of reason in hysteria.

Final point - you are trying to make the link that all scientists and climatologists who disgaree with the IPCC somehow work for the oil lobby, but clearly, you did not read the article about who is behind the carbon trading market. If you had, you would see that Fat Al is up to his ears in financial swindles and dubious links to companies like Barrick Gold and other well known companies with decidedly undemocratic pedigree.

So when the USA disappears under a mountain of carbon taxes, and gets merged with Mexico and Canada, assuming we make it past what remains of the Bush-Cheney Nazi regime, you will have no-one to blame but yourselves for the loss of your Republic.

Yes perhaps, and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Our climate is not affected by human activity. The science is clear, the politics is a totally different matter.

Boy, you Libertarians are removing your masks and your Right-Wing underpinnings are showing through.

Actually 95% of the World' Climatalogists say human activity is accelerating and to blame for Climate Crisis, and a small minority of loud-mouthed Energy Industry Stooges are trying to undermine Real Science.

Now, the theory goes that Global Warming precedes an Ice Age for various reasons, #1 being increased Cloud Cover Lowering average mean. Sun activity over the past 70 years overall is still the same, and we did not have industrialization during the last Ice Age and Global Warming Cycle. It may have taken 20,000+ years, whereas now it is taking less than 200 years.

No one ever said Volcanoes, Cosmic Rays, and Solar Energy contributes ZERO to Global Warming. It does...about 1-5%.

I also am VERY concerned about nuclear war, Bush insanity, 9/11 complicity and conspiracy, and everything else you say. I will not have my World View dictated by Oil Companies and their Whores in the Government.

Perhaps this will clear it up for you, and I don’t want to hear any bleating about “oh, its that Crank LaRouche again”. Just read the articles and think it through for yourself with an OPEN MIND before you make any conclusions.

Posting links to crank LaRouche publications and calling it CRITICAL THINKING??? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Why don't you go back to passing out pamphlets at airports?

here's the equation:

So you can see why there is a "Asses of Evil" between Energy Companies, War Profiteers, Fundamentalists, Republicans, and Rednecks.

Roger_Roger

Yes perhaps, and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Our climate is not affected by human activity. The science is clear, the politics is a totally different matter.

Since you cannot seem to grap the link between globalization and global warming, you can hardly be expected to understand the fact that it is precisely the intentions of Mr Gore and his policies that is the genocidal issue here. The goal is WORLD GOVERNMENT, nothing more, nothing less.

The UN, the Club of Rome et al, were set up precisely to establish the kind of utopian post industrial fantasy land that you are promoting in your "arguments" here.

Also, a nuclear war will for sure going to do a lot more damage, a lot quicker, than even the worst nonsense you can dream up to "solve the problem of global warming". You are already conducting a low intensity (DU) nuclear war on the world. So stop harping about this diversionary crap and get to work impeaching that bastard Cheney and his monkey Bush.

So stop harping about this diversionary crap and get to work impeaching that bastard Cheney and his monkey Bush.

Calling it "global warming denial," is very very dangerous. With that statement and legal sanctions, not to mention the extreme greed of a "carbon tax," please distinguish your philosophy from that of Popes verses Galileo. Once freedom of inquiry, and for that matter a free and open society is restrained, with the obvious induction of global warming as the same as "holocaust denial," science ceases to exist.

Most funding is absolutely attached to current global warming theories. The fact of the solar cycle, ice core samples indicating higher CO2 at various historical times, is all to be shoveled under the rug. We are to label such things as heresy?

It is a travesty how people are distracted by carbon emissions, while they are totally overspecialized in it, and blind to the greater danger such as GMO foods, and corn in particular with its bee killing insecticide.

No one is arguing against concern over climate changes, but the fact that concurrent accepted "official," solutions are about as useful as a witch doctors rattle, is the height of absurdity.

All of you who think this is a liberal issue or a conservative issue, cannot tell the difference between tyranny and liberty. I am sad for your sorry sleepwalk into the 13th century, all so elites can do another disservice with their extreme greed in a global tax.

#83 Global warming, if left unchecked, will certainly kill alot more people then some petty war in Iraq or Afghanistan. Those war deaths are measured in thousands. Global warming deaths could measure in the billions.

caerbannog

You have clearly not even read Lord Monckton's report, since the evidence is clear, even using the IPCC's own report from 1996, that the medieval warm period is an anomaly that they had to "get rid of".

The report of McIntyre et al (2003,2005) already demonstrated how this was done, by the 390x weighting of a single temperature proxy - bristlecone pine data.

And what about the US Senate report from 2005?

Go back and read Monckton's report with an open mind and stop being such an asshole while you are at it.

Roger_Roger

Your claim that China will kill a large segment of the world population is the most hilarious thing I have heard all year.

Isn't it the good old USA that invaded Iraq, Afghanistan and is about to start a war with Iran?

That sounds suspiciously like depopulation to me.

But hey, the Chinese are developing faster than you and your paper dollar is worth less than your pathetic ideas, so I suppose that's a good excuse to start a war with them aswell and show the world how much you big yanks mean business.

No, the most dangerous people are those who seriously believe they can do anything about a problem that is neither man made, nor - even if it were - responsive the kind of idiotic, genocidal policies that people such as you would FORCE on the rest of us in the name of your false SATANIC religion.

#76 The sky is falling. Their is no middle ground when it comes to Global Warming is my point. You can't believe that Global warming is real and then treat it with kiddie gloves. If you believe it is real, then you realize how huge of a problem this is. Things like the Kyoto treaty are very dangerous and threaten the entire world. These treaty's exempt the very worst polluters. If the world can't get its act together fast, places like China will kill a good chunk of the world's population. America isn't much different. While America is doing alot better then China, we also have to reduce our emissions.

caerbannog

How typical - dismiss people who disagree with you as "cranks".

Your claims about the medieval warm period are patently false - as demonstrated by the fakery used to create the "hockey stick" curve.

Did you actually read Monckton's report or not asshole?
