Climate change death toll ‘to double within 25 years.’
“Deaths and injuries from climate change are set to more than double in the next 25 years, according to estimates” by the World Health Organization. Deaths “linked to even a very narrow number of causes most closely connected to shifting weather patterns will reach more than 300,000 a year by 2030.”

Are you guys seriously saying there were never human deaths from hurricanes, heat waves or malaria and malnutrition before global warming?! Tony McMichael at the Australian National University calculated that in 2000 there were already 166,000 deaths and 5.5m Dalys caused by warming that had taken place since the 1970s. LOL!

My USA Today reports that 55% of the West is in an extended drought with 50% less snowpack this year than last (which was a good year, nevertheless). So I think about water use in the San Joaquin valley and Arizona and so on for food growth and the population growth in the West.. Makes you think, what happens if the drought continues or the expected rainfall drops 25% or more due to a shift in pattern attributed to climate change....
Now some blokes in Oz can rabbit on all they like about tying all of this to statistics and I can't argue one way or the other, because their methods may be suspect, but you know.... it only took a small cooling in the 1400s to wipe out the Vikings in Greenland....

Maybe you can think about why the big thunderstorms happen in the warmer parts of your country and not in the colder parts for your homework this week. I'd like to see you tell a weather story this week too.

And in that time, I have noticed that the leftys at several sites have supported our soldiers and the injured vets. The republicans haven't. They talk about supporting the war but don't say things that make me believe that they support the troops.
michael, I don't know if you are a vet or not, but it might help you to know that most of the soldiers believe that we are there to help the Iraqi's (Blackwater not included). We see the horror of this war and most of us do not believe that we should be fighting there. To be honest, we don't exactly know who we are fighting anymore. Just the insurgents, not what we would consider terrorists.

Worse than that. They kill Doctors and people who are gay. They hate our freedom and want to take over our country. And they've been known to invade entire countrys and kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people! It is a real plague here. I'm glad you're here to share our concern about our countries.
