2. Since you support Bush, could you please tell me how he defines “victory” in Iraq and how he plans to achieve it? I do not understand how our troops can win a civil war that involves several groups fighting among themselves, a very weak government, and police and military forces who are widely distrusted by the Iraqi people. We need several hundred thousand more troops just to restore a semblance of security to the country and will never be considered anything other than occupiers by most Iraqis, who want us to leave their country.

How do you feel about Marines who oppose the Iraq war such as Colonel Jack Murtha and Generals Tony Zinni and Joe Hoar, both former CENTCOM commanders, and John Sheehan who summed up the military’s skepticism in explaining why he turned down White House feelers to become “war czar” for Iraq and Afghanistan: “The very fundamental issue is, they don’t know where the hell they’re going.”
