I vivdly remember the night one of my best friends lost her legs in a mortar attack on the BIAP. I can easily name several close, personal friends who can explain what “suffer” means, because Laura Bush obviously doesn’t know the meaning of the word. Every President in the history of the United States has suffered immensely when sending troops to fight.
Bullshit! Bush is a sociopath. He’s incapable of empathy and he has no qualms whatsoever about sending troops off to to die for any reason, no matter how trivial or personally enriching it may be.
And, on top of that, he will fight any attempt to bring them home, if only for the reason that it would make him look bad. Everyone knows that he screwed up, but it would be a public acknowledgement by him if he allowed them to come home. He’d rather see 50,000 American troops dead than have to face that.

He was eager to send US troops into harm’s way. And then he showed no grief when the fallen came home: he went to no funerals, no flags at half-mast, no honorary guards at the airport.
And when Tillman was killed by “friendly fire”, it was suppressed and a phoney story ’suitable for prime-time’ was invented. This whole war is a fake. US troops are killing innocent civilians in greater numbers than the terrorists. The US engages in arbitrary arrest, imprisonment, torture, aerial bombardment, and human rights violations. And the US ignores all the pleas for the democratically elected Iraqi government to do otherwise. For shame.

This is an absolutely true statement if you use the Biblical definition of “suffer”, which is to “let happen or cause” (as in “suffer the little children to come to me). Thus, Laura Bush is saying “No one causes more than the President and I do”.

I did not include ACCIDENTS, HOMOCIDE, ILLNESS (probably Gulf War syndrome related) and SELF-INFLICTED. Those categories cannot be attributed directly to conflict, unlike the real number which includes the most relevant categories to war or military action.

I looked at the figures on the links posted by Walt, and they don’t prove verminthehater’s point at all, as David has already noted a few times. Most of those deaths were from illness or accident; some were self-inflicted. The active duty military deaths from military action or terrorist attacks total less than 70 during the entire Clinton administration. Even if all the homicides are included, the figure is less than 500. So much for verminthehater’s figure of 4000! But then, when did facts ever stand in the way of neoCON blather?

How many of you caught the first interview on TV with Laura Bush, after the first election of her hubby? I cannot remember, but I think it was with Barbara Walters. Laura was asked about her intentions with regard to her interest in the welfare of children and what she intended to do. She then was asked about needy children in other countries. Laura Bush’s response was shockingly “why would I waste my beautiful mind thinking about that?” Maybe not perfect quote. I was so shocked. The “interview” immediately went to commercial. Nothing, amazingly, was ever heard/said about this again?
Anyone know where I can see the transcript of that one???
Point being here, Laura Bush’s beautiful mind psychosis lends me to believe that she is not qualified to be a first lady and should quit acting as such. She needs to go home with her beautiful mind, lay off and shut up. Have influence? Have what she wants, accomplished? She is mentally disturbed!
Her toned-down version of having a beautiful mind was exhibited in her comments about the Louisians that went to Texas to escape the devastation of Katrina, just looking to have a place to live and operate from. She did not want those Blacks there. She complained that they “experienced Texan hospitality, for which they were not used to, were so impressed that they just would not leave?”
What kind of garbage is this woman about? She needs to be locked away where she has no money nor influence on anything. She needs treatment for her “beautiful mind.”
