An excerpt of a 2003 Ladies’ Home Journal with our sitcom First Family:

“[Peggy] Noonan: You were separated on September 11th. What was it like when you saw each other again?

Mrs. Bush: Well, we just hugged. I think there was a certain amount of security in being with each other than being apart.

President Bush: But the day ended on a relatively humorous note. The agents said, “You’ll be sleeping downstairs. Washington’s still a dangerous place.” And I said no, I can’t sleep down there, the bed didn’t look comfortable. I was really tired, Laura was tired, we like our own bed. We like our own routine. You know, kind of a nester. Like the way things are.

I knew I had to deal with the issue the next day and provide strength and comfort to the country, and so I needed rest in order to be mentally prepared. So I told the agent we’re going upstairs, and he reluctantly said okay. Laura wears contacts, and she was sound asleep. Barney was there. And the agent comes running up and says, “We’re under attack. We need you downstairs,” and so there we go. I’m in my running shorts and my T-shirt, and I’m barefooted. Got the dog in one hand, Laura had a cat, I’m holding Laura –

Mrs. Bush: I don’t have my contacts in, and I’m in my fuzzy house slippers –

President Bush: And this guy’s out of breath, and we’re heading straight down to the basement because there’s an incoming unidentified airplane, which is coming toward the White House. Then the guy says it’s a friendly airplane. And we hustle all the way back upstairs and go to bed.

Mrs. Bush: [laughs] And we just lay there thinking about the way we must have looked.

Noonan: So the day starts in tragedy and ends in Marx Brothers.

President Bush: That’s right — we got a laugh out of it.”

How many of you caught the first interview on TV with Laura Bush, after the first election of her hubby? I cannot remember, but I think it was with Barbara Walters. Laura was asked about her intentions with regard to her interest in the welfare of children and what she intended to do. She then was asked about needy children in other countries. Laura Bush’s response was shockingly “why would I waste my beautiful mind thinking about that?” Maybe not perfect quote. I was so shocked. The “interview” immediately went to commercial. Nothing, amazingly, was ever heard/said about this again?

Anyone know where I can see the transcript of that one???

Point being here, Laura Bush’s beautiful mind psychosis lends me to believe that she is not qualified to be a first lady and should quit acting as such. She needs to go home with her beautiful mind, lay off and shut up. Have influence? Have what she wants, accomplished? She is mentally disturbed!

Her toned-down version of having a beautiful mind was exhibited in her comments about the Louisians that went to Texas to escape the devastation of Katrina, just looking to have a place to live and operate from. She did not want those Blacks there. She complained that they “experienced Texan hospitality, for which they were not used to, were so impressed that they just would not leave?”

What kind of garbage is this woman about? She needs to be locked away where she has no money nor influence on anything. She needs treatment for her “beautiful mind.”

If you’re so determined to post bald-faced lies, you should probably do it on a right-wing site where people are more likely to swallow them hook, line, and sinker. You haven’t offered any links to support your silly claims. Nobody here’s buying it. You haven’t succeeded at anything but being a nuisance.

How about trying something different? Try making an honest statement and back it up with credible sources. Oh wait…no, that doesn’t work if you’re a right-winger. Never mind.

He will jump on Chavez because he thinks he has a safe target. But he likes to distort, distract, and disgust. If we don’t take the bait on Chavez, he’ll be on about babykillers or appeasers or whether red wine goes with beef and white with fish or the other way round.

Jump on Chavez, can’t defend Mrs. Bush’s statement. Chavez means shit to this country but vapid has sooo much to speak about. Mrs. Bush insults the American fighting soldier and all of the suffering families and voidoforiginalthought has less to say than Freddo did.

You go after Katy for pointing out that Bush and Company has been trying to supplant the Permanent Republican Majority (ie Stalinist rule) and just ignore the subject of the thread. It’s not your strong point to show facts or a backbone.

I guess that you are terrified that on Jan. 2009 Bush won’t step out of power, right? Like Chavez is refusing to step out of power, instead, Chavez literally re-wrote the whole Venezuelan Constitution to keep himself in power for at least 15 years. get a clue and an education while you are it.
