Thad: that’s my thought. If you look at the doc-dumps, you see lots of cc:d and forwarded of Word docs, so I’d imagine that duplicated DOC and PPT files and the like make up the bulk of that 25 gig.

Waxman asked for header information: dates, senders, subject lines. The RNC won’t dish. It’s shit-scared about this.

A search-term based filter is bullshit. A date-sender filter makes more sense.

How much you want to bet that they are redacting the shit out of these “found” documents? As stated above, it is REAL easy to find the names and accounts of the users. All they have to to do is look at their Blackberry phone bill, fer Christ’s sake!!!

Note the exception for some PAS (president and senate-confirmed) and EOP (Executive Office of the President) employees.

I don’t know which employees qualify for the exception that includes “those whose duties and responsibilities continue outside normal duty hours and while away from the normal duty post, and are…paid from an appropriation for the EOP” (page 24). If they don’t qualify and they e-mailed from an RNC computer or blackberry in a federal office or federal building, I’m sure the administration would have no qualms about throwing them under the bus as they say.

Unfortunately, I bet Karl Rove falls into the definition of this exception.

However, I have no doubt that Karl Rove, as well as others with RNC e-mail accounts (as some evidence has already shown), have violated the Presidential Records Act and/or other law/laws by illegally using RNC e-mail accounts to send White House communications.

‘Mistakes were made’ cannot be an answer.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Don’t you have high school in the morning? I’m positive they will discover all kinds of illegal activity as they sort through the emails BUT there is nothing illegal yet. Having emails sent to RNC server means nothing in and of itself. We’ve got to show it was done on the public’s time OR that emails contain government business…but so far they just identified who has email accounts through the RNC which means nothing illegal yet goobers.

Who is scrutinizing the RNC’s retrieval of email records? Are we just getting what they want to show us? Is any one else getting the feeling of “nothing to see here, just move on along” from the Repub base. After all the ‘lies’ so far I find it difficult to believe in the honor system when it comes to the RNC.

Let’s not forget the national security issues this brings up. I would assume that the government’s servers are highly protected with encoding, firewalls, etc. Doing government business on a server that has the potential to be easily hacked is not in the interest of the security of this nation. But it’s not as if the republics care anyway.

These are the same people that think it’s ok for the government to read our emails, track what we search for on the google, listen to our phone calls, tell us what to do in our own bedrooms. And the list can go on forever….

They are the same as the nazi sympathisers (actually closer to the situation in Italy), they would have spied on you and turn you in to be executed. Thank the winds it hasn’t gotten that far……. Yet..

Rule of Law needs to be re-established in the United States of America. What we have now is Rule of the Mafia.
Organized Crime is what you really have to call what the monster in the Executive Branch is today.

If we do not jail the lawbreakers and make sure when we say never again, we remember ( colectively as a nation ) longer than 6 months ( or untill the next blond bimbo get caught not wearing underwear, shaves her head, or dies.)

If they do not pay for their crimes, 8- 12 years they will be back in the White House, doing it all over again.
