“Car bombs and other explosive devices have killed thousands of Iraqis in the past three years, but the administration doesn’t include them in the casualty counts it has been citing as evidence that the surge of additional U.S. forces is beginning to defuse tensions between Shiite and Sunni Muslims.”
I'm shocked!
April 25th, 2007 at 10:11 pmPatreus was just shown on Anderson cooper LYING about a 1/3rd reduction in casualties...
...since January...
...Michael Ware is straightening his out of touch a*s out...
...saying that Bushiva's pressure on lame duck al Maliki is misplaced...
...Pakistan and Egypt need to be pressured...
...according to Ware...
...America needs to surge the WHOLE country of Iraq in order to "win"...
...but doesn't have the manpower or resources...
April 25th, 2007 at 10:12 pmWell there he goes again with no oversight, no benchmarks, no checks and balances, and no milestones. And just today his press Secretary was saying how they respected Congress' role in the oversight of the Administration.
One pack of lies after the another.
Move that table under Dennis's articles of impeachment.
I can't wait until Madam President Pelosi is sworn into office.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:13 pmHitler didn't keep count of the Jews either.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:14 pmwhat a mob of fundamentally dishonest people... there is nothing to which they would not stoop... i am so ashamed of my country...
And, yes, I DO take it personally
April 25th, 2007 at 10:21 pmAlso do they count a pregnant woman as 2 deaths?
What do you think Jake?
April 25th, 2007 at 10:22 pmBushie says: "If the standard of success is no car bombings or suicide bombings, we have just handed those who commit suicide bombings a huge victory,"
Can someone explain to me what this means?
April 25th, 2007 at 10:23 pmMy-my-my, how asshole is that?!!
Par for the course for this abomination of a so-called administration.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:29 pmi just watched BILL MOYERS, BUYING THE WAR...
and all i know is that if anyone has anything to say to the troolls other than YOU ARE LYING AND YOU ARE A FOOL TO BELIEVE THE LIES,
April 25th, 2007 at 10:30 pmthen... then...
well, i don't know exactly...
but there are plenty of fools already and we just don't need any more...
#7--It means Bush is an idiot.
I think he's actually trying to say that zero suicide bombings is impossible or at least beyond expectation. However, it's hard to apply reasoning and logic to his rhetoric.
What an idiot. What a liar.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:32 pmso exasperating!
As Stalin would say, and I'm paraphrasing here, it is only a statistic.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:33 pmkaty, just finished watching that too. What in the hell could the trolls say about it? The most disturbing part was Powell at the UN, how everything he said was a lie and could have been refuted easily, yet the media lapped it up. SICKENING!!!
April 25th, 2007 at 10:33 pmBill Moyers and PBS is kick ass.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:34 pmBushie says: “If the standard of success is no car bombings or suicide bombings, we have just handed those who commit suicide bombings a huge victory,â€

April 25th, 2007 at 10:35 pmHillary speaks to CFR.
Hey just watched Moyers too, that's why my blood's boiling again. GRRR!
April 25th, 2007 at 10:37 pmHow pathetic that everyone got sucked into the lies!
All the lies should have been so easy to dismss.
They need to be held responsible.
I do hate those long-winded funding drives on PBS though.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:37 pmDid they not exclude those killed by murder too?
They can not just give a count of the total dead. They have to parse it like they parse their words to Congress, Press, and the American public.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:42 pmkaty,
Do you know if the Moyers program will be offered online?
April 25th, 2007 at 10:42 pmThose killed by car-bombs aren't REALLY dead.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:45 pmSounds like Bush balancing his budget to me! More BS and spin. Time to get these thugs out of office.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:45 pmJust watched the Moyers special as well and am infuriated that our complicit MSM was "aiding and abetting" the propaganda machine for this war. I believe the people need to hold each of them personally accountable for spinning lies as truth to the american people. It's because of their complicity with the administration that people were sucked into this amoral and illegal war.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:47 pm#16 Only if your name is Tillman.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:48 pmI watched Bill Moyers also. Another master piece but I must add that I was in rural Alaska pre-war and I sure didn't fall for the nuclear threat. It just wasn't possible that Saddam could hide nuclear processing plant from the world given sanctions, inspectors, and satellite monitoring. Also if you go back and check the cartons in major newspaper editorial pages during that time, they all were making fun of Bush not being able to connect the dots to justify war.
CIA facts are that since desert storm, Saddam had only $ 900,000 per year for his entire military. That barely paid for troops.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:50 pmNumbers and stories of convenience. Disinformation spun to suit a policy of skewer, unaccountability, incompetence, and 'we did nothing wrong that they knew of". Given a wider berth, Bush no doubt would tighten down all information and data coming out of Iraq with spikes. Then filter, scrub, and sanitize it all to suit a story book fairy-tale plot with a wise king and loving, adoring subjects all bliss with his heavenly host persona. With no reality base within this administration little wonder why Bush would busy himself with signing statements exempting himself from ever obeying any law(s) or culpable in any wrong doing.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:51 pmBob, not EVERYONE was sucked in by the lies.
-GSD
Me, I believed that Saddam had bioligical weapons in his bathroom. He reportedly had a mean ass-gas bomb after a falafel wrap.
April 25th, 2007 at 10:56 pmThe one thing that BushCo is good at is manipulating statistics and facts. From Iraq to Social Security, it's all fuzzy math.
April 25th, 2007 at 11:04 pmTrue, sorry.
...almost everyone...
At least a few were smart enough to be skeptical, but as was pointed out, those dissenters were supressed, to say the least.
April 25th, 2007 at 11:07 pmI watched Bill Moyers tonight too. I never bought any of the bs from the Bushies about any of this shit. If it were up to me, I'd march every one of the s.o.b.s straight to the guillotine, and I hope I'm the one who yanks on the rope to let the blade fly. Them motherf*ckers.

Quieted, smeared, fired, ostricised and treated like criminals for daring to speak out.
From a post I put in an earlier thread:
Rule of Law needs to be re-established in the United States of America. What we have now is Rule of the Mafia.
Organized Crime is what you really have to call what the monster in the Executive Branch is today.
If we do not jail the lawbreakers and make sure when we say never again, we remember ( colectively as a nation ) longer than 6 months. ( or untill the next blond bimbo get caught not wearing underwear, shaves her head, or dies.)
If they do not pay for their crimes, 8- 12 years they will be back in the White House, doing it all over again.

You are absolutely correct. These people learned very well the lessons of Watergate -- do whatever the hell you want, get pardoned, repeat.
April 25th, 2007 at 11:20 pmYeah, and the same gd people are in there lying that were in there lying 20 30 years ago. Why? Lack of accountability.
Cue infamous picture of Rumsfield shaking hands with Saddam...
April 25th, 2007 at 11:26 pmWTF?!
April 25th, 2007 at 11:33 pmWe should not be surprised any more at the disinformation coming from the creative inhabitants of the White House - a symbolic white fixture on Pennsylvania Avenue - like most white fixtures - full of sh*t.
These sons of bitches lie about what day it is. What a miserable bunch of failures, crooks, liars, and cowards...that would be the GOP and more specifically the Bush Crime Family.

Watergate, Iran Contra.
Alot of Bushco was involved with both of those Administrations.
In a historical sense, it is really pathetic that they skirt and abuse the law with no disregard, and have gotten away with it already. Over and over again.
April 25th, 2007 at 11:39 pmI am curious about the ratings on the Bill Moyers’ special tonight on the media complicity and complacency in the run up to the war.
A most disturbing, and sad commentary on the degradation of the media today; they have become nothing more than conduits - sewer pipes - to intake the garbage from the administration and spill it out on to the American public.
This is something most of us have been observing and lamenting for a long time now, but having seen it all laid out in the program has renewed my anger and frustration, as well as depressing me.
I remember telling my family at Thanksgiving 2002 that this was wrong; I didn't believe it; I was reading those little buried articles that questioned the White House. They laughed at me.
April 25th, 2007 at 11:39 pmI hate to say I told you so because it is no comfort in the light of the state we are in today.
If a lesson is learned, it will be a good thing, but too late for us now.
i just watched BILL MOYERS, BUYING THE WAR

I did too katy and you're right, those trolls better STFU. They were already discrediting Moyer for being too liberal before they even saw the show. Expect major attacks on this man who's had a long, impeccable career.
April 25th, 2007 at 11:39 pmI do hate those long-winded funding drives on PBS though.
Comment by Sanitized Stink — April 25, 2007 @ 10:37 pm
Donations are used for new programming though. The trolls were already complaining about tax dollars being used for this liberal show which probably wouldn't have been produced without donations to PBS.

Women don't count at all. Only the fetus.
April 25th, 2007 at 11:45 pmHere's a scary thought: if this trend continues, we could see vice president rove in 30 years.

Well, I can understand why the Duhhbyanians don't include bomb victims.
I mean, all those pieces - so hard to figure them out.
"You're saying we found 41 feet and 19 heads?

Okay, lets do a recount - one, two, three...."

Zooey,
"Buying the War" can be seen in its entirety here.
April 26th, 2007 at 8:51 amIt's nauseating how these people micromanage people's death.
April 26th, 2007 at 9:17 amWhy be suprised? It's just like the economic numbers for inflation were great - - - once the increases in food and gas were taken out of the numbers.
April 26th, 2007 at 9:38 amI once took a college class called "How to lie with statistics" I guess the Bush Administration took the class too. They also lie about how many Americans have died because of this war. They only count the people who died on Iraqi soil. If someone died in the helicopter on the way to Germany, they didn't count. If someone died later of injuries they sustained in Iraq, they didn't count. If someone committed suicide because of PTSD, they didn't count. If they were to do a true count of the number of Americans who have died because of this insane "war", the number would be closer to 10,000.
April 26th, 2007 at 10:52 amKaty,
This is the link to the show. It's important to get as many people to watch as possible.
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/btw/watch.html
As far as Bush's rationale for why they're not counting IED deaths..
“If the standard of success is no car bombings or suicide bombings, we have just handed those who commit suicide bombings a huge victory,â€
No matter how long I look at that statement, the only thing I can discern from it, is that it gives me a huge head-(heart)ache. How are these bastards not in jail? Can anyone please explain?
