“Former Deputy Attorney General James Comey is scheduled to appear before the House Judiciary Committee at a hearing Thursday next week to testify about his involvement in the plan to fire certain U.S. attorneys. The committee will vote on authorizing a subpoena for Comey’s testimony on Tuesday. Comey’s expected to shed light on the early part of the purge process.”
The intent of the purge was twofold.
First, to further the disenfranchisement plan by getting rid of Iglesias and anybody else who got in the way.
Second, to protect corrupt Republicans by replacing US Attorneys like Carol Lam who were prosecuting them.
This violates the basis of the rule of law in this country. If it is allowed to stand, we no longer have the rule of law and we are no longer the United States of America as described by the Constitution.
April 26th, 2007 at 3:04 pmDo you think Comes is rehearsing what he’ll say?
Is he working with Abu Gonzo in the preparation?
Hey, James…it didn’t work for Alberto, & it won’t work for you.
Your best course is something the Neocrooks can’t follow…tell the truth.
Carol Lam for AG!

We have not been that United States for the last 6 years, unfortunately =(
April 26th, 2007 at 3:16 pm#1…When the Supreme Court appointed George Bush as president instead of allowing the vote recount to proceed so that the winner of the election could be determined by the voters, we ceased to exist as the United States of America as described by the Constitution.
April 26th, 2007 at 3:17 pmI think there is a chance that Comey might be forthcoming. He is a Republican, but I don’t think he is a koolaid drinker, and I don’t think he is close to Gonzales in any way.

I can’t recall if I remember.
April 26th, 2007 at 3:17 pmSomething different about Comey to consider: he appointed the best U.S. attorney in the land, Fitzgerald, when he could have just as easily appointed a hack or Bush crony to investigate Libby. Comey may well care about the rule of law.
April 26th, 2007 at 3:19 pmWith each passing day, the scandal-plagued Bush White House more and more resembles a 2000 episode of The Simpsons. During a check up, the nuclear power tycoon Mr. Burns is informed by his doctor that “you are the sickest man in the United States. You have everything.” But the doctor reassures Burns that the news isn’t all bad and that he will survive because “all of your diseases are in perfect balance.”
And so it may be with President Bush. During a speech the Brookings Institute yesterday, Democratic Congressman Rahm Emanuel offered an exhaustive – and damning – catalog of the scandals and ethical wrong-doing of the Bush administration and his Republican Party. And yet President Bush and his beleaguered GOP survive.
In fact, George W. Bush may be hanging on because of, and not despite, the staggering epidemic of scandals enveloping his administration.
For the analysis, see:

Don’t be surprised folks if the ” I don’t recall” refrain spews from his lips just as well.Repukes generally are dispicable people.

Comey is a good guy. He’s the one who rigged the Plame investigation so that Fitz could go where the evidence took him, without administration interference.

He did more than that; he got an official opinion from the government agency responsible for these types of investigations, to the effect that the investigation could go wherever the evidence led. He put a firewall between Fitz’s work, and Gonzo’s attempts to interfere.
April 26th, 2007 at 4:43 pm#5 I agree. He (if I remember correctly) is the guy that gave Fitz carte-blanche on the Plame affair.
April 26th, 2007 at 10:53 pm#7 Sorry, I didn’t read your post before I made mine. He also defended Fitz when the Rethugs attacked him for “going beyond the scope” of his investigation. I don’t think he is a true believer.
April 26th, 2007 at 10:55 pmso trolls, any clever predictions about whether this guy is going to roll over on your buddies in the executive branch? boy, thank god none of your heroes ever obstructed justice or anything like that..
