House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) has invited former CIA Director George Tenet to testify on May 10. “The purpose of the hearing is to learn your views about one of the claims used to justify the war in Iraq — the assertion that Iraq sought to import uranium from Niger — and related issues.”
Pfffft, this’ll be part of Tenet’s book tour!
April 27th, 2007 at 1:57 pm“Um, yes, but at the time, even i didn’t believe it….”
April 27th, 2007 at 1:58 pmShoot, does Waxman have time to sleep? He’s as busy as a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest…
April 27th, 2007 at 1:58 pmO’ Henry Thou art a thorn in the side of Neo-Con puke. May you never be removed until thay all are rotting in hell.
April 27th, 2007 at 1:59 pm#3 Yep! or as busy as a spider on a hot stove…Blessings
April 27th, 2007 at 2:00 pmTenet thinks the administration and Cheney in particular are making him a scapegoat, for blaming the war on him..
He said:’There was no serious discussion about invading Iraq before the war started”…and his ’slam dunk’ expression became the reasons given as the cause of the war…
Expect ’swiftboating’…
April 27th, 2007 at 2:01 pmThis is a REALLY big deal, IMO. He’s one who really knows what Bush and Cheney said and lied about. They may have pissed off the wrong person.

Busier than a cat covering crap on a marble floor.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:06 pmThis is interesting because ,the administration blames the intelligence, the
intelligence blames the administration; Senators and Congress members who voted for the war also claim:”Had we knew then what we know now,we would not have given the authorisation to the President to use force”.
So, everybody claiming ignorance in this case !!!.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:07 pmTenet may have been invited to testify, but unless he receives a subpoena, I doubt he will.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:07 pmCan they rescind his Medal of Freedom? Congress is baiting a hook, and Condi is the catch of the day. If Tenet gives testimony which conflicts with Condi’s previous statements, it will be very hard for her to duck testifying. He doesn’t even have to testify – merely the threat might be sufficient to get Rice’s testimony, to “set the record straight.” But once she steps into the hearing room, the gloves come off, and any of her past statements are fair game. It will be interesting to see the administration’s next gambit, to deal with this eventuality. How they jump will tell a lot about the threat from Tenet’s testomony, as they perceive it.

He’ll testify, without a subpeona. They are trying to swiftboat him, and he’ll have to respond. So far it looks like he’ll not go quietly.

April 27th, 2007 at 2:18 pmThis will most likely free up some time in the Secretary of State’s calander.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:18 pmBusy as a fly in a shit-eating contest.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:20 pmRedneck,
Your right man. Our time would be better spent investigating the White House Christmas Card list just like the Repubs did when Clinton was in office. Oversight is so 7 years ago right?
April 27th, 2007 at 2:21 pmWith his opening statement he could return his medal and say “I didn’t deserve this.”
April 27th, 2007 at 2:21 pmlet the blaming game begin!
April 27th, 2007 at 2:21 pmThis is going to be good!
April 27th, 2007 at 2:22 pmWAXMAN FOR PRESIDENT!!!
April 27th, 2007 at 2:23 pmOr, as Homer J. Simpson said,
Waxman has been “busier than a Japanese beaver.”
April 27th, 2007 at 2:28 pmHey redneck, if testimony proves lies brought us to war will you come back on here and admit our brave fallen soldiers blood is on your hands?
April 27th, 2007 at 2:33 pmSo far you have yielded nothin’!

Strike three, you’re out – of your cotton-pickin’ mind, if you think the administration is going to sail away from this unscathed.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:40 pmYeah right. They all said they would come back even if they lost in ‘06. Funny thing is that they are still here, they just post under different names.
Chicken sh!ts every one of them.

There’s something I’d give my eyeteeth to see. Ah, we can dream, can’t we?
April 27th, 2007 at 2:42 pmGeorge Bush’s nightmare is just beginning. That man will rue the day he stole the White House.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:45 pmHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
All the chickens are coming home to roost now.
p.s. Henry Waxman is a great man who truly understands what it means to serve the public. No more gangsters in the White House.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:48 pmThe Republican GOP snowball is melting at a faster pace by minute.
April 27th, 2007 at 2:58 pm#24 you have thrown down the gauntlet and impuned my southernly reputation!
But if he takes the 5th, then all bets are off! He’s a medal of freedom winner for God’s sake!
April 27th, 2007 at 3:00 pmImmunity for Tenet.
April 27th, 2007 at 3:02 pm#14 — Redneck, Redstate — You don’t much about investigations, do you? It takes times to thoroughly investigate any situation — and these that are being investigated have tentacles that are so long and deeply entrenched it’ll take time to uncover all of it.
I guarandamntee you though, that once it is uncovered, the Neocon Nuts and their groupies will be out of control for a long, long time. The majority of the American people are pretty damned pissed off about all the lies, the deceipt, the graft and the corruption from the people who claimed to bring honesty and dignity back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
People will forgive a lot of things if the people who are responsible and likely guilty are honest about it. When they aren’t — well — there is Hell to Pay and Payback Is A Bitch!
As for me, I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the hell out of each and every investigation that Congress undertakes and watching how it plays out. This is better than a damned Spielberg sci-fi flick.
April 27th, 2007 at 3:12 pmTruth telling time…
…chunk that Medal of freedom in the trash…
…where it belongs…
…and bring down the White House…
April 27th, 2007 at 3:16 pm“…He’s a medal of freedom winner for God’s sake!”
WRONG. He was given the medal because he was a “bushie” and a limp d@#k.
All he is trying to do is rehab his image so he can get a job pulling juicy paycheck.
April 27th, 2007 at 3:17 pmHo-Ho….now this is getting good! They’re turning the heat up on Dubya and his gang of idiots. I love it!
April 27th, 2007 at 3:38 pmI’m certain George Tenet knows PLENTY and when he sings about the pretext for this illegal war, the country is going to go rabid.
April 27th, 2007 at 3:38 pmGeorgie and his Dick must be shakin’ in the boots! Tenet’s going to sink this already half-sunk USS Titanic White House.
April 27th, 2007 at 3:40 pmThe republican party will have to reinvent itself or create a splinter party because hell will freeze over before the american people EVER vote for a republican again! It’s over for the GOP! The people have had enough of it’s corruption and chicanery.
April 27th, 2007 at 3:41 pmIsn’t Tenet a Dumbocrat?
