For the first time ever, “about a third of the historically male Pentagon press corps is female. The latest addition, Fox News Channel’s Jennifer Griffin, brings the number of regular female reporters to nine.”

I am all for women’s rights. But, I am not sure this is all that great.

For that reason, I don’t see Jennifer Griffin’s addition as a positive development. I am not sure any reporter from that “news” organisation is good news -pun intended.

I’m not sure that the more conservative branches of Christianity have come to that conclusion yet…

As would I. Unfortunately, until women and minorities have the same playing field as white men, this kind of news is a big deal. It means that inspite of the inequality, women and minorities have made major achievements in their fields and deserve to be commended and recognized with the hope that their accomplishments will be the foundations for gaining gender equality.

Considering the sexism of the more conservative male dominated networks like FAUX, it might actually be a larger hurdle she jumped to get the traditionally “penis required” spot, unless of course she looks like a Barbie Doll – which then means she is merely ‘eye candy’… :D
It may seem inconsequential from our liberal viewpoint, I agree, but as a woman living in a red state in the Bible Belt, I am always thrilled to hear when women and minorities make progress in our nation without Equal Rights Laws.

No wonder the Ted Haggard’s of the world consider Rome the whore of Babylon. If the church had been in its right mind (they obviously paid no attention what so ever to Chick’s little comic books) we wouldn’t be worried about women in the Pentagon, the White House or the State House.

Sorry for the brevity in my response, I enjoy pointing out the hypocrisy in the religious right, but I’m pissed off about my post disappearing, because it made the point that as long as women and minorities aren’t considered equal to white men, this news is news…. Grrr….
