To mark the fourth anniversary of President Bush’s “victory” speech aboard the USS Lincoln tomorrow, Americans Against Escalation in Iraq and Americans United for Change joined Iraq war veterans and others today outside the White House.

You can watch the new Americans United ad on Iraq HERE.

Where can I get a high resolution version of this image TP? I want to send it to everybody I know and turn it into a bumper sticker.

April 30th, 2007 at 5:30 pmLike other politicians, the ones in charge now distort, obfuscate, and lie. almost constantly.
it seems to be the inherent nature of the beast - politicians, that is….
An interesting read - “Politicians Lie? Say it Ain’t So!”

April 30th, 2007 at 5:32 pm“Mission Accomplished” will probably go down as the worst Presidential PR stunt ever. Heckuva Job, Bush.

It’s interesting how the blogosphere has become the main journalistic media outlet in this country, and those of us who comment here its reporters and journalists.
Like you, I am always passing along the real news that the local networks refuse to show. And it feels good to be a part of the revolution - because let’s face it - that IS what this is… And the fact that we’re doing it ethically and without violence makes it just that much sweeter.
No wonder the Liebermans and Boehners of the government want to shut us up… We’re making progress :)
April 30th, 2007 at 5:37 pmwhat a great country. a baner baner.
April 30th, 2007 at 5:37 pmNothing would make me happier than to see George Bush bleeding profusely from his recently excised scrotum. That bastard is more than evil personified.
April 30th, 2007 at 5:41 pmAlmost Half a TRILLION dollar$ has been spent on this War. Where did it end up??? Mission Accomplished indeed if you are in the War Supplies Business.
April 30th, 2007 at 5:44 pmOn Tuesday May 1st, the United States will mark the fourth anniversary of President Bush’s declaration of “Mission Accomplished” in Iraq. But as the carnage continues and the war funding debate rages, President Bush and allies in the conservative amen corners can only offer the American people recycled talking points to sell his catastrophically ill-conceived war without end.
For a look back at four years of wartime marketing gone bad, see:
April 30th, 2007 at 5:45 pm“Mission Accomplished: 4 Years of GOP Iraq Talking Points.”
Notice how you never see anything about rallies on the msm. During Vietnam they showed casualties coming home and protests. Now, nothing. How many Americans don’t even know protestors exist?
April 30th, 2007 at 5:47 pmI tried to post a picture of a T-shirt design I created with the words “mission accomplished” over the third reich emblem but Google base would not allow it. Whats that all about?
I wanted to sell them but haven’t because I figure the neo-brownshirts would come find me.
Love the banner though
April 30th, 2007 at 5:55 pmI’m waiting for the “mission abolished” sign.
April 30th, 2007 at 5:56 pmI just emailed the photo to my friends and family. It was clear enough when I enlarged it a bit… I recommend we all take Spudge’s cue and do the same. Then the media might ignore the protestors, but those with internet access and an email account sure won’t…
April 30th, 2007 at 5:56 pmSpudge,
I would buy that bumpersticker, for sure. I’d add it to my obnoxious car. :-)
April 30th, 2007 at 6:25 pmcool, but the sign is facing the wrong way…
April 30th, 2007 at 6:27 pmCheney’s plan to dominate the ME for the next decade, mission accomplished … so far…
April 30th, 2007 at 6:33 pmUnbelievable,
You are terrorizing your relatives… hehe.
April 30th, 2007 at 6:38 pmGood to see you back RUCerious.
April 30th, 2007 at 6:41 pmIt would be awesome if the Americans United for Change group could somehow get their hands on the original banner (if it hasn’t been shredded into a million pieces).

i wish t.p. would stop deleting every single one of my comments.
April 30th, 2007 at 6:52 pmsomeone at t.p. doesn,t like my smug attitude of their digging for truth.
hell. you could hand them the truth in a easter basket. they STILL wouldn,t know what to do with it, (just sayin)!
Four years since aWol dressed up as soldier, strutted across that carrier deck, won the war, and created his doll. The glory has now faded, and the act becomes an obscene reminder of his incompetence, ineptitude, and disconnectedness. He will never live that down.

April 30th, 2007 at 7:02 pm#11 Ben Dover; you are wrongly assuming bush had any balls to begin with. You can NOT remove what was NEVER there.

April 30th, 2007 at 10:20 pmFour years of futility. Bush’s War: That was then, this is now. When the flag waving ends and reality sets in.
May 1st, 2007 at 8:33 amOne assumes that the lie about the surge would be that this escalation represents the largest amount of troops that have been deployed to Iraq so far.
May 1st, 2007 at 8:42 amI created the banner. If you want a copy of the art, contact me at sierravolk@hotmail.com.
