Bush official resigns ahead of oversight hearing.

“An Interior Department official accused of pressuring government scientists to make their research fit her policy goals has resigned.” Julie MacDonald, deputy assistant secretary for fish, wildlife and parks, submitted her resignation letter “a week before a House congressional oversight committee was to hold a hearing on accusations that she violated the Endangered Species Act, censored science and mistreated staff of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.”

UPDATE: Josh Marshall highlights some other amusing memories from MacDonald’s tenure.

Stupid bitch. We’ll have the hearing without you.

Why does the Bush Administration hate science? Did he fail that in school, too?

Wow, the dominos just keep falling…an endless trail of corrupt repukians, soon we will need a repukian grave yard where old corrupt repukes can go to die, a valley of bleached white bones. That would be a wonderful site.

She can resign all she wants. Congress issued a subpoena and she has two choices, l) she complies with subpoena and testifies or, 2) she is found in contempt. That charge will stay with her the rest of her professional days. I wouldn’t hire her.

See ya at the hearing, you silly cow.

  11. Raven says:

I’m going to tie up a couple of Bitch Creeks just for you, Julie…

The rats are surely jumping ship at a rapid rate. And with every rat shrieking goodbye, the others are watching, watching in their little holes, knowing their day is coming too.

    Typical Bush crony:

Gosh be darned if they ever let anyone take them to task for not living up to their responsibilities. Better penniless and jobless than accountable.

  14. Gregor Samsa says:

On a related note, this crony was sending sensitive internal documents to someone who was many years her junior -maybe even a minor.

What lapse of judgment leaves a government official to send internal documents to someone they met on the web and have never met in person? Let alone trust this virtual friend’s opinion over that of scientists with years of experience.

And this is the team who are supposedly keeping Americans safe?

    WTF?!?

  15. Karim says:

So she quit…big deal. That speaks volumes of her alleged crimes.
