Former Bank official: Wolfowitz ‘acted incorrectly.’
Robert Danino, the former general counsel of the World Bank, said bank chief Paul Wolfowitz “acted incorrectly” in arranging a hefty salary increase for his girlfriend, Shaha Riza. He also stated that he “did not learn of these actions prior to my departure from the bank in January 2006.” On Monday, Wolfowitz said that that he assumed Danino was aware of the package he put together for Riza.

$66.000 raise buts it s just to much . People will ask why I know make more then Condi (Tax Free) . and its way above any amount ever given ,
I can take the job but not the money . Moral people wouldnt have a problem with just taking an ordinary raise and everything will be OK.

May 1st, 2007 at 3:24 pmDoesn’t the World Bank have a mechanism for firing its president? If so, then why hasn’t it been done. If not, what kind of crazy organization is it? Wolfie’s behavior would not be tolerated in the private sector. Why is it tolerated at the World Bank? Just get rid of him!
