Who said I was ‘god-less’?? I said quit forcing me to believe in YOUR god. Go back and read what I wrote and not just ’selectively’. (#129) You force your god on everyone by trying to legislate what YOU BELIEVE TO BE IMMORAL based upon YOUR god and religious beliefs!!! You’re evading the point. McCain is claiming that allowing gay men and women to server will harm the military because of the risk to morale, unit cohesion, and such. The polls serve to show that McCain is basically talking out his ass. Hence, your point is moot.

I dunno, obviously, but I doubt very many. We heard these scare stories before when the military was integrated to allow black men to server. And again, when women were allowed to serve. In each case, the gloom and doom predictions simply never happened. Why should we believe they will in this case?

Moreover, gay men and women are already serving with distinction in quite a few standing armies in the world, all without any trouble at all. If those things didn’t happen elsewhere, why should we believe they will happen here?

And, finally, there are quite a few openly gay men and women already serving in the military. Time and time again, we’ve heard reports from service men and women in all branches of the military that they know someone gay and that it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference as long as they do their job and can be counted on to have their back in time of combat.

Quit with the Brit-language crap. Last I checked, we declared our independence in 1776. It’s “behavior.”

Also, you gay-haters ‘assume’ that all gays do the same thing. Many gays don’t do ass (just oral).

Third…gays are exposed to ‘what goes on’ in straight bedrooms every day. Ever been to an R-rated movie? Ever seen Britney Spears and Paris Hilton pics? So, excuse me but if you see two guys kissing or holding hands, well that’s only fair.

Yeah but 100% of servicemembers opinions count for shit in the military, and therefore so do all those polls.

That’s why it’s called the “chain of command” and not the “chain of suggestions”. Why they imprison people for not obeying directives or for substituting your own opinions about what should be done instead of obeying those of your superiors.

Homosexuality is NOT a religion. Nobody is going door to door with copies of The Joy of Gay Sex trying to convert lost souls. It’s not about taking away Christian rights. Unless by Christian rights you mean the right to lord it over the rest of us and impose your will on us all 24/7. But the First Amendment prohibits that kind of behaviour.

I’d like to recommend a bittersweet movie called Gods & Monsters. It’s the semi-factual bio of movie director James Whale, the creator of Frankenstein. I think you might learn something from it. Of course, you’re probably scared of movies that make you feel and care, because they just might lead you to be compassionate. And that would go against your Fire & Brimstone code.
