Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA), whose house was raided by FBI agents last month, says he has “information from sources he wouldn’t name that federal agents had executed search warrants recently against two other members of Congress — a Republican and a Democrat — in raids that hadn’t become public yet. He said he thought that those raids were related to the Abramoff probe.”
Lies, liars, and damned congressmen.
May 4th, 2007 at 12:51 pm“Look over there! Two more FBI search warrants, based on information that I can’t reveal, and I think they’re related to the Abramoff scandal, and I think one of them is a DEMOCRAT!” – J. Doolittle
May 4th, 2007 at 12:54 pmZooey: do you REALLY think it’s a republican AND and Democrat???
or maybr just another republican…?
May 4th, 2007 at 12:56 pmwell, brownback made a statement last night

“We are utterly shocked that our government is suspecting us of committing a crime. … I cannot believe that this is how our system of justice can work in this country.”
Nor can we, Doolittle. Our AG has fcuked up the whole system, just like his boss.
(First time, ever, I’ve agreed with a Rightie!)
May 4th, 2007 at 1:00 pmMaybe, with any luck at all, it’s a Republican, and an Independant who used to be a Democrat….
May 4th, 2007 at 1:00 pm#4…I believe he said “in a freezer or deep freeze.”

I REALLY think it’s neither. :-)
May 4th, 2007 at 1:01 pmSo is he saying it’s okay because others did it too?
May 4th, 2007 at 1:01 pmOk. How long til the media pick up on this and turn it into a story on the HUGE scandal involving DEMOCRATS? Cue the right-wing pundits pointing to this a Pelosi’s failure to clean her own house. No corroboration necessary.
May 4th, 2007 at 1:02 pmRaven: oooh, you bastard. Now I’m SALIVATING at the opportunity to get that little douchebag out of office….
:)
May 4th, 2007 at 1:05 pm“…information from sources he wouldn’t name…..”
…yet I’ll bet he knows intimately………..
May 4th, 2007 at 1:06 pmI think it’s time for the GOP to go on the attack against Dianne Feinstein. She has several questionable actions made in conflict of interest while on serveral senate sub-committees. She has funneled nearly a billion dollars to companies her husband is vested in.
Also, if we are talking ethics in 2008, will Hillary finally answer what she did with the Rose Law Firm billing records, how she made 100k in one day and exactly what her relationship to Vince Foster was?
Democrats have maxed the corruption charge against the GOP. MOVE ON or watch it backfire in your hateful faces.

So in addition to illegal wire taps, etc., they are surveilling people’s freezers? Gee Brownback, are you guys searching laundry baskets too?

Feinstein & Hillary against all your corrupt guys. Bring it on.
May 4th, 2007 at 1:12 pm#15 – stop being a LYING hypocrite. You have no problem investigating Republicans. When it comes terrorists or Democrats (excuse me for the redundancy), you cry civil rights. STFU.
May 4th, 2007 at 1:13 pmI had to kick a Bushie out of my garbage can last night, I asked him what he was looking for, and he said it was classified…………
May 4th, 2007 at 1:14 pmDems haven’t even come close to Republican corruption. Exit polls from last November’s election showed that voters were most concerned with government corruption. Guess which party controlled the House, Senate, and Exectuive Branches? Guess which party voters gave the majority to in the House and Senate? Anyone found guilty of corruption should be booted out of office regardless of party affiliation. And the definition of corruption does not include refusing to bow to George Bush.

Having a small comprehension problem, Center Right? I said bring on the investigations against Feinstein and Hillary. I want YOU to have the facts on them so you don’t have to just make things up.
May 4th, 2007 at 1:17 pmMaybe it was a Republican who once was a Democrat. Like Ben Nighthorse Campbell, per chance?

That was a little strong, don’t you think? Especially for someone who claims to be from the “Center Right?”
May 4th, 2007 at 1:21 pm#19 – you are the party of fear and smear.
Let’s see what happens in 2008 after you nimrods nominate Queen Hillary. She simply cannot win the general election. She will unite the GOP like nothing else. AND she’s a crook.

May 4th, 2007 at 1:23 pmCome on, Dems never commit corruption
What is that you say?
William Jefferson? Who’s that?
What is this Rose Law Firm you are asking about?
What car? What bridge?

That’s beneath you, Robert. You know that’s not the point of the thread. When have any of us said Jefferson shouldn’t be gone?

Comment by hacker bob — May 4, 2007 @ 1:52 pm
Keep bringing that one up and I’ll keep bringing up Laura Bush killing her boyfriend. Neither one has any bearing on what’s going on NOW, so just let it go already.
May 4th, 2007 at 2:09 pmComment by LibStl — May 4, 2007 @ 2:09 pm
Oh, there is bearing.
If Laura Bush had been jailed, we might have a different First Lady
If Swimmer Ted had been jailed, he wouldn’t now be in office
May 4th, 2007 at 2:19 pmComment by hacker bob — May 4, 2007 @ 2:19 pm
And that has what to do with the current crop of corrupt legislators exactly. That is, after all, what this thread is about. Let it go.

an example of corruption. that is all.
May 4th, 2007 at 2:30 pmWhat a liar.
May 4th, 2007 at 2:57 pmThe FBI has kept none of it’s raids on any officeholders secret so far. Republican or Democrat.
Maybe it’s William Jefferson. That would make me happy.
Unfortunately, I think he’s lying. We’ll see.

thanks for the reminder. i was trying to remember which of the gaybashing hatemongering swiftboating purple heart band-aid kool-aid keyboard commandos was accusing US of being hateful a week or two ago..
May 4th, 2007 at 4:28 pmAll of them, Chocoliscious Jesus, all of them.
May 4th, 2007 at 4:53 pmJohn Doolittle is gutless. He lives up to his name. He’d sell his own mother if it meant deflecting heat away from himself. The best instance I can think of to sum up John T. Doolittle is this:
Go back to the movie Farenheight 9/11. Do you remember when Moore was trying to interview congressmen regarding the war in Iraq? He was on the street outside of the congressional building attempting to ask congressmen as they passed by if they themselves would be willng to send their own children over to Iraq to fight. Do you remember the very last congressman he attempted to interview? Allow me to refresh your memory:
Moore: (paraphrasing ) Congressman Doolittle! Congressman Doolittle! Excuse me sir but can you tell me if you’d be willing to send your own children into Iraq to fite this was??
Doolittle: (exact response) Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck!
And like a carton character, Doolittle literally jumped straight up in the airl You could almost see his legs starting to pump before they even hit the ground and once they did hit the ground, you could see the smoke and the faint outline of the shape he left befind — and good ridence to. Now if he would only to that in real life, I would be ever so grateful!!
`Maureen
