28 percent.

President Bush’s approval rating in a new Newsweek survey, “an all-time low for this president in our poll, and a point lower than Gallup recorded for his father at Bush Sr.’s nadir.”

46 Responses to “28 percent.”

  1. RUCerious says:

Congratulations to the final set of morons reprenting the 28%.
You’ve distinguished yourselves as the dumbest damn bunch of sheeple on the planet.

“The law is designed for the benefit of US oil companies,” Ramzy Salman, an Iraqi economist who worked for the Iraqi oil ministry for 30 years, said.

“If approved, it would take things back to where they were before the nationalisation of Iraq’s oil in 1972.”

But he said the situation would be reversed when Iraqis regained their “true sovereignty”.

  4. Karim says:

The 28% who still stand by this idiot should be put on an island in the Atlantic and never to be seen again.

  5. Jamie says:

This poll is very bad for the GOP. It also has the three front runner Democrats beating the three front runner GOPs in heads to heads. MSNBC also just reported that now 36% say they are Democrat, 37% say Independent and only 24% say Republican.

  6. Tobey Tall says:

these 28% must be alchoholics , they need to drink to bury their sorrows , just like the Nazis Prison guards at the concentration camps were given Booze to make them cold blooded killers , Yes folks that what Booze does

    Explains Bush too

    ENOUGH TO

    PUKE PUKE PUKE :(

  8. Quadrajet says:

ahhh, once again bush’s approval rating, IQ score and the average number of toes his hard core supporters have – on one foot – converge.

  9. BottomBoy says:

#3: You’ve got a problem with the caps lock. Please fix it.

As far as the President goes, just what exactly are you advocating when you say “do something about it”? Like it or not, he is the elected President and by God you will do what he says.

  10. Tobey Tall says:

BUSH HAS BEEN RUMBLED ON OIL WORLDWIDE NOW

    Row over Iraq oil law

A draft law being considered by the Iraqi parliament would enable US companies to take control of Iraq’s oil industry, oil experts in the country say.

But he said the situation would be reversed when Iraqis regained their “true sovereignty”.

“Under no circumstances would Iraq relinquish its authority, its responsibility and its control over Iraq’s natural resources,” Hussein Shahristani, the country’s oil minister, told reporters in the United Arab Emirates.

  13. Dagny Taggart says:

    #10 BottomBoy
Bush is a civil servant, he should do what we the people say.

  14. BottomBoy says:

#14: Well, there’s a quaint notion. He does what his constituency says – not the people.

  15. barfly says:

His constituency is the entire country. Read a civics book sometime.

  16. Dagny Taggart says:

Oh I forgot, republicans think that the constitution is quaint. Last time I checked it is still the LAW of the land, and the preamble is still a part of it.

  17. david says:

Tobey Tall, you seem to be a one-note Quixote. Either bring some fresh insight to the table or stop posting the repetitive “shocking discoveries”.

jimbo dude, your thoughts, whether UPPER CASE or lower case, do sound smug and self-satisfied. What do you propose to do personally to defeat the evil Dubya? Break open another case of Bud???

Bush is the President of the USA. That means you own him. And I mean that with the broadest meaning. I find it curious how Americans so easily disown their government and absolve themselves of all wrongdoings done in their name. You are accessories after the fact. YOU ARE ALL GUILTY.

  18. BottomBoy says:

#16: And why would he do that? Listening to the people who didn’t vote for him. What’s in it for him?

  19. Bobby Hill says:

When 9-11 happened Bush was hovering around 50%,now he’s at around 28%. That’s only a drop of about 3.5% a year, for the last six years! So I guess in his little bubble, a drop of 22 % isn’t all that bad!

  20. veritas says:

The prediction by statisticians regarding the “magic number” for Bush’s impeachment was “28%”…. interesting how the impeachment war drums and demonstrations are picking up all over the country, isn’t it?

  21. veritas says:

HOORAH! hoorah! FINALLY!! Bush finally outdid his father on something!! hahahaha! Something to be proud of now. He’d probably outdo Pappy on a “flatulence contest” as well…..since he’s the biggest bag of hot air (lies) on the planet.

  22. barfly says:

And why would he do that? Listening to the people who didn’t vote for him. What’s in it for him?

Oh, something about a presidential legacy. His will be one of intellectual isolation, bad decision-making, and political polarization. Things historians tend to judge very harshly.

Look up the word “constituent” before again using it in a sentence; it will save you from looking foolish (again).

  23. veritas says:

#20 Bush’s little bubble is bursting all over the place. The sirens are sounding and the impeachment drum is beating. He’s acutely aware of his lack of popularity; in fact, he’ll probably go into hiding when he’s no longer in office. I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

His daily actions are those of a very sick man. They are the actions of one who has broken contact with reality and, instead, prefers to live in a land of delusion and lies…where he is the Emperor Eternal and all of his cronies are standing by in adulation. Unfortunately, it’s like one of Shakespeare’s collosal “tragedies” and this country may never recover from the damage and wounds inflicted by his unprecedented ignorance, bigotry, isolationism, fascism, and the decline of this great country of ours. Democracy is all but dead and the hallmarks of increasing fascism fly in our faces daily. Recovery may not be possible even with Bush’s ouster from office but it’s certainly worth a try. Otherwise, we go down like the Titanic and we all become complicit in the “observation of the tragedy – while we all sit back and simply allow it to occur.

It’s the age-old question we’ve been asking ourselves about Hitler’s “Reign of Terror”…. and that is, how could honest, moral people stand back and permit this heinous abuse of power? How could they have been so unconcerned? You know how you feel about the lack of concern of these people who actually “enabled” Hilter, don’t you? Well, this is precisely how our children and grandchildren and their children will regard the presidency of George W. Bush – and they will view us as either “compacent and complicit” and “enablers” or they will view us as “honest people who were lied to and did something about it”…

Which scenario will it be? You know – it’s entirely up to us in this present moment……how will you react and take action?? How will you be viewed by posterity?

  24. barfly says:

HOORAH! hoorah! FINALLY!! Bush finally outdid his father on something!!

I wouldn’t get too excited – it matches Jimmy Carter’s lowest rating. But Carter had a lot more problems to deal with, not of his own making.

Bush has made his own “legacy” bed, and he will have to lie in it for all eternity.

  25. VerbalKint says:

Wow, ButtBoy is one freakin’ fascist Nazi wannabe. Doesn’t know sh*t about our Constitution, either. He also sounds like the M part of an S and M team, the way he wants Bush to order him around.

See you in 2008, ButtBoy. November 5, to be exact. Be sure to show up here for a massive serving of crow.

  26. KRank says:

“Lalalalalalalalala I can’t hear you. I’m the Decider. I’m the Commander Guy. I’m rubber and you’re glue. Everything you say bounces off of me and sticks to you. YOU all have a 28% approval rating. Nyahh.”

_ George WTF Bush, 43rd (and worst) President of the United States

  27. BottomBoy says:

#26: Whatever. I’m still hoping that for the sake of the nation there won’t be elections in 2008.

Oh BottomBoy, is this where you went to hide?

No elections in ‘08? My goodness, aren’t you the proper little nazi? And STILL no one sees KKKarl’s lips move when you speak. You do swallow first, don’t you, BottomBoy?

  29. Scott says:

you guys can’t recognize a troll when you see one can you?
even the trolliest like bottom boy doesnt set off your troll meters? time to get them calibrated at teh troll-o-meter store

  30. the republic of stupidity says:

I think we understand BottomBoy is a troll, Scott. it’s just kind of satisfying to put ‘em their places. That’s all. Just funa and games on-line.

  31. Scott says:

yea, your right, but i beleive that if you ignore trolls, they shall dissapear

  32. VietnamVet says:

His rating won’t get too much lower! Those 28 percenters will support the decider, even if he succeeds in completely ruining this country. I have a brother-in-law that is a 28 percenter. He started voting GOP about 25 years ago, thinking he would get a tax reduction. Since he is retired and in that lower middle income tax bracket, he is still waiting and still voting GOP. You can’t convince him that he will never get a tax reduction by just voting GOP.

    Comment by BottomBoy — May 5, 2007 @ 2:08 pm

Just as I hope that the rapture would just happen already so that the rest of us don’t have to share this planet with you odious people any longer.

  34. VerbalKint says:

#30 I’m not done playing with this troll yet, at least not until I’m done knocking the stuffing out of its head. It shouldn’t take much longer, though. I have to say it’s pretty rare to see a troll who actually celebrates the fact that he is a pussy.

  35. the republic of stupidity says:

Ya know, Scott, I wish trolls would just disappear too. I have to wonder what is the point of coming over to TP just to spread psychic shit around. Perhaps folks like Malkin, Hannity and O’Reilly will use all of this to call for more censors…, I mean regulation, that’s it, regulation of the blogs.

Come to think of it, there probably is an ulterior motive behind this sort of thing.

  36. kasinca says:

Proof certain that people who live in the trailer parks of the red states and are home schooled are idiots. 28%ers are truly idiots.

  37. Kate Henry says:

“Like it or not, he is the elected President and by God you will do what he says.”

Oh really. When did the President of the United States become a dictator? I think I missed that. Man…you are one scary dude.

  38. henry S says:

yii-pee-kay-yie! bring it down to the lowest of all time!!

  39. Jim Wolf359 says:

BottomBoy, Bush has never been elected. 2000 he tried to steal it and then the Surpreme Court gave it to him. 2004, He did in fact steal it in Ohio. Deal with the reality, you worship a Crook.

  40. Bernard Quatermass says:

If you go by one reading of the word “bottom” then BottomBoy’s behavior is completely clear – he gets off on being ordered around. In fact, if our illustrious Presidunce (by God, I will do what he says!) would just be so kind as to slip a dog collar around BB’s neck, then – whew – BottomBoy would be a _real_ boy at last!

  41. demdandy says:

Bush and his gang have the nation’s entire defense system engaged in Iraq and have invited AQ over to strike at will. The gang needs another disaster so they can blame it on terrorism and suspend the 08 elections. Bush has enabled martial law and is doing his homework on an emergency suspension of 08 elections. Osama is going to cooperate because the Bush coup will mean the end of the rule of law in America. Bush and Osama have been cooperating ever since Bush let him go at Tora Bora. They need each other.
The GWB regime has enabled spying on Americans so outspoken offenders will be rounded up shortly after the coup. More prisons are being built to accommodate more American “terrorists.” The 14 new “military” bases in Iraq will have huge detention facilities where dissenting Americans can go for a torture vacation. The American so-called embassy will be Cheney’s new offices and Bush will stay at home to whip us into dictator fodder. The Bush crime family has much experience in setting up right wing dictators in South America and the family does not see any reason why it should allow
the hugest cash cow in history to slip out of their hands because of our nation’s quaint electoral practices, but the framily is lulling us into believing there will be a switch in power in 08. That’s right, I am the original looney toon. There is no absolute proof of these assertions. It’s the way I am connecting the dots. Now, of course, we have the “eternal general.” Can’t you seen Gonzo in a pointed hat with an overlarge, shiny new ss uniform goosestepping around, rounding up Reid, Pelosi, Waxman, etc.? Bush keeps him around to do his bidding when the moment of truth arrives.
We need to impeach Bush-Cheney to guarantee this nightmare scenario does not occur. The longer we hesitate to uphold the rule of law, the more emboldened the nation’s leading gangsters become.

  42. Martin Gifford@hotmail.com says:

I think that the 28%ers interpret politics as being like football.

You don’t stop supporting when your team is losing.

To stop supporting your team when it’s losing would be “weak”.

    Martin Gifford.

  43. S.D. says:

Martin, suppose the “Team” is under horrible Management?
Wouldn’t you support a change in Management?

As for his approval rating, I bet he can go lower.

  44. m12 says:

So if 2 of Bush’s 10 predecessors (Truman, Nixon) hit lower levels, and 2 more (Carter, Bush I) hit the same level, how the hell is this a ‘historical low’?

  45. m12 says:

    #14
Does doing the will of the people include banning gay marraige, banning 3rd term abortions, and banning affirmative action?
