Brownie weighs in.

Brownie weighs in.

“‘In the middle of all this, my wife sent [Alberto Gonzales'] wife an e-mail,’ said Michael Brown, the chief of the Federal Emergency Management Agency during Hurricane Katrina and no stranger to Category 5 storms of public ridicule. The e-mail message reassured her, simply, that ‘there’s life after Washington.’ Mr. Brown, who calls Mr. Gonzales a ‘true gentleman’ and a ‘friend,’ nonetheless subscribes to the belief that Mr. Gonzales is going down.”

There would be only 2 surer bets in all of Christendom for “going down” at this point.

    1. Bush’s poll numbers week by week, and

    2. Jeff Gannon on a Saturday night date w/ KKKarl.

  2. Shane says:

The question is what’s taking so long?

ABC News admits D.C. Madam findings are ‘dull’

ABC News is airing its much-anticipated report based on phone records it obtained as part of the so-called D.C. Madam case. It doesn’t look like this segment on 20/20 was worth the wait.

And we’re supposed to trust the asses-
sment of the pro-Bush network that aired “The Path to 9/11″?

  4. Briseadh na Faire says:

    Shane,

Rove’s still trying to figure out a way to blame this on the Democratic Party in three words or less.

Besides, as long as Impeachment is off the table, even Gonzales is safe. Sure, he could be impeached. But does anyone think the Democrats have the b@lls to do it?

I’d be willing to wager that the next person to get impeached will be a Democratic President, assuming, of course, that Diebold will allow a Democrat to be elected President.

  5. Shane says:

More than Gonzales, Bush and even Cheney, I want Rove to pay the price for all he’s done.

Bush’s Brain my ass. More like Bush’s Heart of Darkness.

  6. JTitor says:

Comment by Briseadh na Faire — Rove found that he couldn’t believably pin it on the Dem’s, so he’s just going to blame it on Clinton instead. From the Administration to the American people:

  7. JTitor says:

There’s been a story floating around that no one can find good ol’ Brownie. He was found today west of the Whitehouse next to Rove’s house.

  8. Styve says:

Now there is a guy who might know about going down!! I have long thought that Bush is going down, and it seems clear that Gonzales is, too. Not that I give a hoot, but the question that comes to mind is, “…on whom?”

We are living in a very strange time…

  9. Briseadh na Faire says:

    Off topic:

    Weapons are the tools of violence;
    all decent men detest them.

    Weapons are the tools of fear;
a decent man will avoid them
    except in the direst necessity
and, if compelled, will use them
    only with the utmost restraint.
    Peace is his highest value.
If the peace has been shattered,
    how can he be content?
    His enemies are not demons,
    but human beings like himself.
He doesn’t wish them personal harm.
Nor does he rejoice in victory.
How could he rejoice in victory
and delight in the slaughter of men?

    He enters a battle gravely,
with sorrow and with great compassion,
as if he were attending a funeral.

  10. Mark says:

    Seriously, this is shocking.

    Alberto Gonzales has a wife?

Man, I am surprised they aren’t divorced yet after Alberto can’t recall whether she wanted him to buy Romaine or Iceburg Lettuce.

    Just shocking.

  11. Gregor Samsa says:

Well, isn’t that a ringing endorsement?

Brown calling Gonzales a “true gentleman”?

A praise from a crook. Just what Gonzales needed for moral support.

  12. Ajax says:

So, When is Al Gone going to leave? Life after Washington is writing a book, where you are paid millions of dollars, and you divide yourself away from bushco as much as possible. Yes, there is life after Washington. Vote Gravel / Paul.

You know it’s getting bad for the NeoCons when the Salt Lake Tribune writes:

    A neocon checklist
    Public Forum Letter
Article Last Updated: 05/05/2007 02:13:40 PM MDT

Directions for supporting the troops the neocon-artist way:
    1. Fabricate intelligence to scare the people into pre-emptive war with an enemy who had no connections to 9/11 terrorists, and denounce the pacifists as unpatriotic.
    2. Spend more than half of the country’s discretionary budget on defense (not including pre-emptive wars).
    3. Make sure that special interest contractors get plenty of the war dollars.
    4. Decrease funding for veteran benefits and make sure to extend tours of duty on a whim.
    5. Advocate for huge tax cuts while increasing defense and military spending.
    6. Ignore the American people and veto war-spending bills sent you by Congress.
    7. When facts about the bad policies surface, claim they are all politically motivated.
    8. Threaten that anything less than continued war will “embolden the enemy.”
    9. Continually change the rationale for the war, making sure to keep troops there as long as possible.
    10. Ignore the wishes of the majority of the now “democratic” Iraqi citizens.

Bonzo should know that there is life after Washington. All he has to do is call Baker Botts. Dick Cheney will need counsel, as well. It should be a slam dunk to find like friends in texas.

  18. Raven says:

Let’s see just how quickly FEMA is able to arrive in the small rural communities in Kansas and Oklahoma, and compare notes with the New Orleans diaspora………………

  19. Kay says:

Chimpy and his Cohorts in Crime don’t give a crap about New Orleans : all they friggin’ care about is the $600 Million Embassy in Baghdad etc.

    Disgusting.

  20. Jake says:

I hope Gonzales is not forced out by this witch hunt. As for FEMA, I would hope the response time is better this time.

  21. Kay says:

    Jake :

    what are you smoking?

  22. Bernard Quatermass says:

“I hope Gonzales is not forced out by this witch hunt.”

Why not? He appears to be incompetent and weak. For one thing, he can’t appear to remember squat.

Kinda reminds me of Ronald Reagan.

  23. Raven says:

Brownie just wants some company to go out with and get a nice wet burrito and a good margarita…

  24. Jake says:

    Bernard:

Same reason I don’t think alleged “witches” should have been killed in Salem, Massachusetts: INJUSTICE. BTW: are you sure you can remember everything you did on a certain date a year ago? I bet I could ask you plenty of questions that would have you honestly answering “I don’t recall” too.

  25. Raven says:

oh, jake, you are so mercifully free of the ravages of intelligence…

  26. Jake says:

I will agree that Gonzales reminds me of Reagan as well — both overcame humble beginnings — as for the implied Alzheimer’s, are you aware that Reagan kept a daily diary every day he was in the White House? The release of those later this month will finally disprove your theory on Reagan at least.

  27. Bernard Quatermass says:

“I bet I could ask you plenty of questions that would have you honestly answering ‘I don’t recall’ too.”

I’ll bet if you asked me what I had for lunch, sure, I’d have trouble recalling that. But this would be less so if your questions regarded important things I had dealt with in, say, a high-ranking job.

  28. Bernard Quatermass says:

“The release of those later this month will finally disprove your theory on Reagan at least.”

I’ve read some of the previews of these diaries. What “theory” (which as far as I can tell I never stated) are these supposed to “disprove”?

If you are referring to Ronald Reagan having Alzheimer’s disease, that is not a theory. He suffered from Alzheimer’s. That is, as much as anything can be, a fact, is it not?

Like many who seem at least to lean away from the majority on this board, Jake, you appear to have a fundamental misunderstanding regarding words like “theory” and “logic.”

  29. Jake says:

I’m talking about Alzheimer’s BEFORE he left office. It also does not have to be your high-ranking job. Tell me what general industry you were employed in a year ago, and I will ask you a dozen questions you honestly can’t recall either. Will that prove you have Alzheimer’s?

  30. Kay says:

When one is the Attoney General of the US : you better be damn sure you remember what you.

    No, not this admin.

  31. Jake says:

Thank goodness some here are not Attoney (sic) General of the US.

  32. Bernard Quatermass says:

Jake, I think you have Alzheimer’s.

Or you are just very, very gullible and of strikingly average intelligence.

  33. Bernard Quatermass says:

“I’m talking about Alzheimer’s BEFORE he left office. It also does not have to be your high-ranking job. Tell me what general industry you were employed in a year ago, and I will ask you a dozen questions you honestly can’t recall either. Will that prove you have Alzheimer’s?”

Jake, you can neither put together a coherent paragraph nor express whatever thoughts you have in a clear fashion.

  34. Jake says:

I do not have Alzheimer’s, Bernard. Careful with the personal attacks. If the whole paragraph was too confusing for you, how about you try to deal with just two sentences instead:

“Tell me what general industry you were employed in a year ago, and I will ask you a dozen questions you honestly can’t recall either. Will that prove you have Alzheimer’s?”

That requires simply identifying the general industry you were employed in a year ago and “yes” or “no”.

#2 Do we know for sure that Gannon was Karl’s “date”?? It’s beginning to look that way with Gannon’s nocturnal visits to the white house somewhere in the 200+ range when absolutely nothing official (for which the press would be invited) occurred. Someone’s looking into this and singing I’m sure.

Also, what happened to NBC’s outing of “white house officials, pentagon officials, and prominent attorneys being involved in HookerGate”?????????? Suddenly, Brain Ross and CBS was “gagged” from revealing them on the show? Propaganda machine-turned-communist-puppet ????

  36. Jake says:

Perhaps, there were too many prominent DEMOCRATS on the D.C. Madam’s list?

  37. Zooey says:

Perhaps, there were too many prominent DEMOCRATS on the D.C. Madam’s list?
    Comment by Jake

The difference between honest people like us, and you Jake, is that we would want that uncovered as well.

It’s not OK with us if our politicians are dishonest, on any level. Any dishonesty on the part of your politicians is OK with you, unless it can be proven.

    See the difference?

I know I’m on your “Ignore List,” so you can answer with one of your intellectually dishonest “for the record” responses.

  38. the republic of stupidity says:

“Perhaps, there were too many prominent DEMOCRATS on the D.C. Madam’s list?”

Well seeing how rabidly right-wing the MSM has gotten of late, if there had been Dems on that list, we’d be hearing all about. Sean Hannity would be blowing smoke out of both ends of his body nonstop for days on end. Maybe all this menas is that Pamela Martin & Associates didn’t stock little boys. Must have disappointed Foley & KKKarl to no end.

I personally think someone should talk to Li’l Bo Peep if they want the dirt on Repubs, frankly… ya know, warm, fuzzy livestock. You know what they say, Jake… “DC, a town where men are Repubs, sheep are scared, and there’s no such thing as virgin wool”. Go have a good cry in your cuppa Woolite.

  39. Zooey says:

Maybe Abu Gonzales can use Drownie as a reference on his job application for Burger King.

  40. Raven says:

With Gonzo’s real estate experience, and Brownie’s horsey sense, they could probably make a few million selling a racetrack developement on the Mississippi delta to Regent University alumni.
