I love your site. They really look very nice. The articles provided are long enough to provide great content but not so long as to be totally engrossing, if you know what I mean.

Being the partner of a public school teacher, I have first hand knowledge enough to state that John M hasn’t a clue what he’s talking about, regarding whether teachers are overworked or not.
Having to deal with the dumbed down products of television and video game playing as a child care provider, (while both parents are working to make ends meet) is exhausting in and of itself.
I’m guessing John M is underemployed, has no children, and did just enough in school to get by.
And more than likely resented teachers trying to get him to think past basketball practice and the latest Play Station.

Can you name any other career that gets as much time off as a public school teacher? I understand that it is a stressful job as my wife is a teacher. She is now teaching at a private school after teaching the last 8 years in public school. However, I also know that she is off of work much more often than I am. She works 45 hours or so a week, and then gets 3 months off a year! Then you include all the holidays that corporate America does not get off and teaching isn't the tireless grind that people make it out to be. She knows that, and loves the fact that during the summer we don't have to pay any daycare, because she is home with our kids, which is much more stressful than teaching.

You get 2 months a year off(plus fall break, spring break, winter break) and you are home by 3:30 everyday. I don't know if I would call you overworked.

Because if someone were going to lie, it would be about being a high school teacher? Underpaid, over-worked, and unappreciated public education teachers who aren’t valued by our community? LOL. Yeah, right. You are even more pathetic than first pointed out.

If I were going to lie, I’d say I was a laywer or NASA big shot or neurosurgeon or oh - a CPA. But, it’s just easier to tell the truth (because the lies about me just crumbled). Try it yourself sometime.

I don't know why you would lie about being a teacher. I don't think that teachers are undervalued in our society. Why would somebody make up being a CPA. I think there are a few more exotic professions out there.

“Again I did not post the list. ”

I read your denial…

“Talk about a waste of time, you just went through each one.”

It took about 5 minutes because I have a calendar and a good memory. Compiling such a list must’ve taken hours.

“I did notice one that you said was after 2:30 (it was 2:35) you must really race home when the bell rings. You mention that you get off work at 2:30, no teacher leaves work right when school ends.”

Are you for real? You’re that pathetically desperate to be right? You must have made the list… You just convinced me.

Oh, another absolutist… “no teacher”.

The bell rings at 2:00. I am done at 2:30, because teachers stay after the kids. You should know that.

“Unless of course you are a substitute teacher, which is basically a babysitter.
Comment by John M — May 8, 2007 @ 5:22 pm”

I was a sub for a few months, trying to decide if I wanted to be a teacher or not (was an architect). I quickly got a job offer to teach Science because I took it more seriously than being a babysitter. There are alternative certification programs that allow this to happen in areas of high need.

This year I teach architecture at a public career academy. Most days I work late. But it’s the end of the year and because I’ve done my job well, my students are doing what they’ve been taught, lesson plans aren’t now necessary (5 days to go), and there’s nothing to grade until final projects are turned in next week. Plus, I’m not married to a pain-in-the-ass like you so that I need to fake working late and doing a lot of work at home like your wife.

You don’t know much about anything John… You really shouldn’t hang out here - it’ll get pointed out a lot.

"Talk about a waste of time, you just went through each one."

It took about 5 minutes because I have a calendar and a good memory. Compiling such a list must've taken hours.

"I did notice one that you said was after 2:30 (it was 2:35) you must really race home when the bell rings. You mention that you get off work at 2:30, no teacher leaves work right when school ends."

Are you for real? You're that pathetically desperate to be right? You must have made the list... You just convinced me.

Oh, another absolutist... "no teacher".

The bell rings at 2:00. I am done at 2:30, because teachers stay after the kids. You should know that.

"Unless of course you are a substitute teacher, which is basically a babysitter.
Comment by John M — May 8, 2007 @ 5:22 pm"

I was a sub for a few months, trying to decide if I wanted to be a teacher or not (was an architect). I quickly got a job offer to teach Science because I took it more seriously than being a babysitter. There are alternative certification programs that allow this to happen in areas of high need.

This year I teach architecture at a public career academy. Most days I work late. But it's the end of the year and because I've done my job well, my students are doing what they've been taught, lesson plans aren't now necessary (5 days to go), and there's nothing to grade until final projects are turned in next week. Plus, I'm not married to a pain-in-the-ass like you so that I need to fake working late and doing a lot of work at home like your wife.

You don't know much about anything John... You really shouldn't hang out here - it'll get pointed out a lot.

NOT ONE of those was valid. Not one. Idiot.

If your wife were a teacher, you’d know about summers, weekends, and breaks off…

Keep proving you have no job. What a total waste of time!

Zoo, Spudge, Sharon, Shane, JPark:

Thanks for battling the dirt-bag troll.

I think that erroneous list came from the Denny/Sybil/just sayin' cretin who has been assembling it for months to prove I am not a teacher (yeah, if I were gonna make up a career, I'd be Sandra Bullock or someone glamourous...). Desperate and pathetic! Sad.

"And he claims to be a CPA and then “reads between the lines”. Counterintuitive isn’t it?

Indeed!

He's as much of a CPA as I am the Queen of England...

"My guess is postage and paper clips since he no doubt works in the mail room.

LOL No doubt. Probably in the same building where MA (Valient Venus) cleans toilets...
