Cheney: ‘It’s game time’ in Iraq.

Vice President Cheney today made an unannounced stop in Baghdad, his second visit to Iraq as vice president. The Swamp reports on his “message” there:

The vice president’s message boils down to this, according to the official speaking on condition of anonymity: “We’ve all got challenges together. We’ve got to pull together. We’ve got to get this work done. It’s game time.

As Hotline’s Wake-Up Call notes, evidently this means “the last four years have just been a scrimmage.”

JESUS CHRIST : GO PHUCK YOURSELF CHENEY

  2. smafdy says:

So, the point of the visit is to prove that Cheney is still an asshat? I don’t get it.

  3. rex applegate says:

Heh, Coach Cheney, sorry to interrupt- but the “game” started about 4 years ago…and…egh, egh, like, ugh… we’re sorta behind,…I mean I think we’re, egh, ..losing…sorry, Coach!

  4. Hits says:

…and this is hysteria worthy because…? The criteria for whipping up mass hysteria around here seems to be any statement the Vice President or the President makes. The amusing irony is that this comes from the crowd that “champions” free speech. Ha!

  5. Zimzone says:

“We’ve all got challenges together. We’ve got to pull together. We’ve got to get this work done. It’s game time.“

Ahhh, the tired old sports analogy. Gee, Dick, how original. May we ask where the f*ck you’ve been the last four years? More soldiers dead in Iraq than civilians in the WTC fiasco, upwards of a million Iraqis dead, 2 million displaced & homeless, U.S. soldiers shooting civilians, no water or electricity, imported terrorists killing everyone, complete loss of respect for the USA on the world opinion stage, lies, coverups & outright theft from your administration and you have the nerve to say
    it’s game time?

May whatever’s left of you soul burn in Hell for eternity

  6. DRxJ says:

    It’s game time.
As Hotline’s Wake-Up Call notes, evidently this means “the last four years have just been a scrimmage.”

Yep, a scrimmage of 3000 US soldiers dead, thousands upon thousands injured, and over 600,000 civilians dead!
But let’s play for real this time?

Gawd, I absolutely hate this administration!
Lord have mercy on all of us for letting this escalate!

  7. oldtree says:

What do you bet that shooter won’t be alone with US troops? If anyone knows the details, please share them. I would imagine that a vietnam style fragging would be the type of “accident” our troops might have in such a situation.

  8. BlueArkansas says:

You’re absolutely right, DICK. It is game time. Strap on your uniform, grab a rifle, and get in there. Your team needs you to lead by example!

  9. mark says:

Cheney — “And speaking of game time, just because the president has taken more vacation time than any president in history that’s no excuse for you guys to be knocking off for two months this summer.”

  10. Tobey Tall says:

Cheney probably went to Iraq a couple days ago and there just pretending hes there today he already gone , If Not I hope the Insurgents get the bastard on his way out.

Bush probably only went to Iraq to spit in Saddams face

So whats cheney upto then ?????

  11. Kay says:

He can say what he wants. It’s just that 92+% think he’s a fat blowhard liar SOB.

  12. Zimzone says:

This from the guy who ‘was too busy to serve’ his country.

How many deferments, Dick? 53? OK, you’re excused.

No! Wait, their is no excuse for you.

  13. buzzbomb says:

“Give us the damn oil so we can leave,” -Cheney

  14. Juan C says:

    mmmm…more Bruce Willis character´s talk.

  15. Kay says:

53? isn’t that the number of heart attacks you’ve had? That doesn’t include the car bombs, though.

  16. TheHeathen says:

Give Dead-Eye-Dick a big gun. Turn him loose on those heathens. Let’s see if his aim’s improved.

  17. Sachem says:

The Iranian bombimg campaign is going to begin soon.

    Absolut Failure

  19. ∞Ω says:

Not only is it ‘game time’, it’s also let’s suck all that oil out of the ground time.

  20. Jay Randal says:

Cheney needs to play his criminal chess games in prison with his cellmate Bubba Boy Bush. Bye Darth Dicky.

  21. Kay says:

If only FAT BLOWHARD LIAR SOB CHENEY could look every parent, husband, wife, child, lover etc. in the eye and say this is ‘game time’

    This man is a coward.

  22. Art says:

    41, 69… Hike!!

  23. Kay says:

(obviously I meant the loved ones of the dead men and women going to fight for OIL)

  24. Last throws says:

Cheney: Come on you guys, you need to start fighting this fight to get that oil or you can’t come back to America.

  25. Raven says:

This may well be Chainee’s last trip.
The security situation is deteriorating exponentially.
He has yet to visit his oil masters in the Gulf.
They will give him the ultimate thumbs up,
or most likely, the thumbs down.
He’ll have no friends when he gets back to the States.
And he’s not looking to chipper…………

  26. Sandy says:

i’ve never heard of a game where hundreds of thousands of people died…this just shows the sick, warped perspective our “leaders” have of this godforsaken war.

  27. Proud Dem says:

Yeah, it is all just a game to this jerk. He’s only the one moving the pieces around on the big map of the world. He could care less about the real lives behind the “game” pieces.

Too bad a stray bullet couldn’t have found it’s way to him, ya know?

  28. Kay says:

    Proud Dem :

    you read my mind.

  29. ForTruth says:

Game time shoulda been a while back, doncha think?

  30. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

    Cheney added, “Bring it on!”

  31. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

Cheney’s like the Tom Hanks character early on in “League of Their Own”: he is a coach who has no respect for his team and shows up late and drunk for the game.

  32. Quebecois says:

Cheney should be put in jail, stripped of his rights, no trial. Then they should take his considerable wealth and give it back to the families of all the soldiers who have died, been wounded, and are suffering from a multitude of psychological problems. He should never be allowed to participate in any political activity, ever…

  33. The fixer upper says:

And he’s not looking [too] chipper…………

You’re posting here. Do you have anything important to say?

  35. GregM says:

Since this is such a big game, then after four years of failure, it’s time to fire the entire coaching staff.

  36. Shane says:

Hey Cheney – better nate than lever – the games supposed to be OVER.

  37. Shane says:

You’re absolutely right, DICK. It is game time. Strap on your uniform, grab a rifle, and get in there. Your team needs you to lead by example!

    Comment by BlueArkansas — May 9, 2007 @ 10:32 am

Do we really want Cheney with a rifle anywhere near our troops? But a rifle, no bullets works, never mind.

  38. Shane says:

Maybe if Cheney and Bush would attend the funeral of at least one dead soldier, they would gain some perspective.

  39. Raven says:

    #32 are you sure?

  40. Crump's Brother says:

    GAME TIME?!?!?

Is that like “Bring it on”?

Jeez Dick, why don’t you just ‘git ‘er dun yourself? Grab a weapon and stand a post!!

  41. Zooey says:

    Hey “Dick,”

It’s been a game all along, asswipe.

  42. Jeffrey Stewart says:

“It’s game time.” Uh, war is not a game. And what were the other four years of war, a warm up?

  43. ckerst says:

    Impeach the idiots already.

  44. the republic of stupidity says:

So does this mean “Big Dick’ will be suiting up and taking the field? Sure hope so. there’s nothing I’d love better than to see him on patrol in downtown Baghdad, ducking bullets left and right.

Don’t forget the Romans in their decline, Sandy. I’m sure the Gladiators were expected to die with smiles on their faces, all for the glorification of the Empire, too.
